One thing I noticed about the EVGA version that I received today is that unlike the Striker, it does have caps close to two sides of the socket, so it looks like the asus will be easier to fit phase.

EVGA seems really easy to fit phase. I just really need the new bios to come out one of these days. Luckily it is going to happen here pretty quick, as retail C2D Quad has same problems with FSB.

too bad I will never be able to afford this board, anyway well done ASUS for catching up with DFI standards
but wheeeeeeeeennnnnn?
give me a date:a day,a week,a month,an eternity!??!
EVGA is being VERY stingy on letting anyone have the bios to test out other than the couple review sites, unlike Asus where beta bioses are always available. It's little things like this that make the difference. :rolleyes:Quote:

Coolaler,
You need to be using the 0402 BIOS with the Kentsfield. ;)
Does the Striker have these backplate issues like the reference models do?

I had to add extra padding on my tuniq tower backplate. So stupid...Quote:

Coolaler since you have tested both the Abit IN9-32X-MAX and the Asus 680i Striker Extreme I have the naive question which is best for overclocking a E6600 (I know you may not have tested both boards with a Core 2 Duo (4MB) but please give a hint?
