nicepun. get on here and help me get to 10k.
funny thing here. when I posted on futuremark its says my cpu was at 4.1ghz???
also if I open orthos it says the same thing. is this a weird p5b deluxe bug?
cpuz shows the correct speed however.
You guys get real nice results.
I get 32000 in 3dmark01
I get 4600 in 3dmark06
Spec:
4000+ at 3ghz (250fsb and htt)
1gb bh5 ram at 250mhz 7-2-2-2.0
Sapphire X1950 Pro
DFI NF4 Ultra-D
Im sure thats underscoring, right??
I was expecting more like, 40k and 6k in 3dmark apps.
This is about all I can do...
Hey Dak, you should be getting around 9.4k in 06. How are you OCing your cards? I OC one with Overdrive and the other one with ATiTool25Beta14. Then again it looks like these cards are pickey so what might work for some might not work for others. I will try to get 10K in 06 w/o tweaks, but I'm waiting on a new mobo because I think this one is defective cuz I can't run 1:1 so I can OC my processor to about 3.95Ghz/4Ghz.Quote:

And for 2k1, well running between 2.8ghz and 3.2ghz on this CPU only makes about 1-2k points difference.
Which is why i thought my scores were lacking due to the gfx card being the bottleneck- bad drivers on the new x1950 pro's. Obviously not.
Is it simply a case of, my cpu needs to be a core2 duo? :P
for 2k1 your score is dependent on the cpu so yes, having a c2d is going to give you much higher scores.Quote:

full score in 06 is sadly calculated with CPU Score. And 06 utilizes two cores very well also in GFXQuote:

I didn't realise the core 2 setup's were potentially 50%+ better in these benchmarking apps, (and other sw for that matter) than the top end A64's.
I need to drop my multi down and get this Twinmos BH5 running how it should be ;) Silly me has been benching and running at 900HTT which is obviously not ideal!
I could not find any heat conducting glue from my local special shops. They said they could get some I ordered. Maybe I'll use glue pistol to attach those sinks.
I have only been using CCC...I thought that it applied the OC to both cards equally? I will try ATiTool25 Beta 14 though...I also have Sapphires so I think it should work huh? I'll try it & report back.Quote:

PM me with your address. I can send you some. I bought a big roll but right now I can't rember where I bought it from...:slap:Quote:

If I won't get this card running at 750 Mhz I won't be satisfied. I have so good cooling on core, that it shouldn't be a problem if I can get VRMs cooled well and vgpu raised.
I had 6800GS @ 600/1200 ... stock core was 425 Mhz.
man thats too bad you had to buy 2 zalman sinks when you could've just bought these. Does anyone have samsung ic ending in 14? (700mhz) I am thinking of flashing my cards bios to sapphire or ati. anyone?Quote:

I've never flashed the bios before, but I know that there are bios editors out there that you can edit the RAM's speed manually, as well as the fan speed. I think the name is "rabbit" or something to that nature, just try googling.Quote:

Well I just ordered the Swiftech copper MC14 RAMsinks to fit to my VRMs, along with this case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144151
This seems to be a great deal at newegg.com, only $59.99, has a dust shield on the side duct, as well as two fans, and a million PCI slots for slot fans and what not......going to get the Zalman VF900 from the UPS pickup center in one hour!
That would be "RaBiT", with all the capitals and stuff. Binormalkilla, I think most people here are familiar with flashing or voltmodding.:toast:
Anyway, I ordered a HIS 1950pro but I'd never had the chance of playing with it. I'll go to my nephew's in a few days and I'll let you guys know how it'll fare...
here is good example what a VRM heatsink looks like on an ATI Reference card:
http://www.wccftech.com/thy/ATIX1950/thumbs/card8.jpg
I don't understand why Sapphire or other manufacturers dropped these out!? On Club3D there are only heatspreaders. I say that kind of sink is mandatory!!
Well I installed the VF900 tonight, and guess what the result was? Black screen crashes on stock clocks. This is becuase of naked VRMs, I'm assuming, so I am RMAing my card tommorow and buying the Powercolor 512 Mb X1950 Pro. I have spoken with several people from overclock.net with this card (256 Mb version) and they have no issues with this at all. This really has pissed me off, and I don't think that I will trust Sapphire for a while. I mean, they are a good company, but the fact that some of their X1950 Pros can't even run at spec, and when I install a more than adequate cooling solution, the VF900 with RAMsinks, and I can't even access the Catalyst Control Center without my PC black screen crashing, well then this is just utter crap. The Sapphire tech support had the nerve to simply suggest that I buy a cooling fan, and ALSO buy a RAMsink kit to fix their mistake from the factory, when they could have simply sent a VRM sink that is availible on the new Ultimate model. Well goodbye and good riddance Sapphire, Powercolor, here I come. BTW the person that I "spoke" with has successfully reached an OC of 665/797 with the stock A2 Acclero Cooler.
Maybe you just :banana::banana::banana:ed up? Cards don't like static electricity, scratched traces and thermal paste on SMD caps (depending on the paste). I don't believe that punny little heatsink is much better than running naked, certainly with the better airflow with the VF900 over the card. And the card is even running in idle.Quote:

Same thing here, I guess it's the whole thing with P5B DLX not supporting the X1950 Pro in Crossfire because it doesn't do internal writes. I e-mailed Ati after I bought my 2 Sapphire cards, and the answear I got back was that he was suprised that I could even activate Crossfire at all. Cause the P5B DLX and other 965 boards don't support Crossfire with the X1950 Pro (This was before I knew that, even says it in the Cat 6.11 releasenotes but I managed to miss it).Quote:

The VRM is the hottest part of the card and it needs cooling, you can't get around that. If you want to complain then complain to Zalman for not updating their VF cooling line with VRM heatsinks. It's like buying a motherboard, great cooling for your CPU and killer ram but then removing the heatsink and fan from the northbridge leaving it naked, then complaining about how your new motherbord just gives you a blackscreen.

Hey, let me know how that HIS turns out; I'm going to order one tommorow or Monday, funds permitting. I just RMAd my Sapphire today, becuase of the black screen issue....at first it was only happening on OCing, but lately it has happened after playing for a while at stock clocks. This occured with the stock cooler. I do realize that the naked VRMs were the reason that the card was giving black screens: I was simply making the point that I followed what Sapphire tech support instructed me to do, and it faiiled horriblly LMAO! (I can now laugh about it now that I am no longer blind with rage!)
