yep, it's throttling just after 1min of 100% LOAD :/ For a while I just mounted SilverStone FM122 Fan on my Ninja and temps droped from f.e. 81 in 3DM06 to 69 degrees - but the noise is horrible :( CPU POST on 4GHz @ 1,45V via BIOS but temps are way to high and during OS loading my rig restarts. I'm quiet sure that only way for me is to buy new, far more better performing cooling - and that sad :(

I've got 4 L628/L629BXXX E6600's, tried them all under my Noctua and under dice/LN2, they all pass 4GHz on air and ~5GHz on dice/LN2 (P5B Deluxe).

I'll post screens and pics ASAP, gotta mod. a P5B vanilla first, higher FSB than Deluxe...

I now got a hold of B-versions of E6300, E6400, E6600 together with my ES 6700 and ES X6800, it's partytime :)

I'm currently making some dice/LN2-containers, testing 4-5 different layouts with the end cost of approx. $150/€115, my C2D's are going to be put under xtreme conditions :)
- Overklokk is also about to make me a cascadecooler too...

Anyone knowing what SPi 1M WR on E6600 is? I've got a screenie of 10.244 with one of mine...

(( For all of you thinking I'm the new guy and soforth, I'm not, I've been passive on this forum a loooong time, just never bothered registering ;) ))

I also suffer the same temps problem.
IMO, my L630....runs hotter than my L626.....
My L626....reach around 54-55C full load @ 1.55V
But my L630 has already reach 55C full @ 1.35V :nono:

dohhh, with 3,6GHz clock and 1,35V mine goes to 75* (TAT WORKLOAD 100% on each core) on Scythe Ninja+ with SilverStone NB122 fan @ 2600RPM :slapass: With Ninja+ Retail FAN I was able to run without throttling and with temps <80* with X6800 @ 3,8GHz with 1,55V!! But at 3,2GHz @ 1,2V is pretty cool so I will work at that freq until I buy WC ( hell no, I don't want to :( :p: )

join the club, i have a L29B 6600 to :rolleyes:

i bought in the same store that Prelim did, we have the same problem!

the cpu clocks very well at 1.35v and i have reached 3,700ghz with 1,47v stable (but no for orthos) the problem is the temps :nono:

i have 70º runniing orthos with 1.35v but without errors that´s true but with a tuniq tower 120 is to much even on air, so it´s seem´s to be a week 29B problem!

Yes, it's hot, but not that hot (~15 deg. C lower) under a Noctua NH-U12 with a rubbish Akasa Amber 120mm. With 2 Delta 120mm the temps drop another 5 deg.C.

@ corvus_corax: I get to handpick mine every time ;)

I think Intel has lowered the components quality used in the Conroe week >27.
I found ALL Conroes week >27....run hotter than Conroe week <26...... :slapass:

My friend has a week 24 Conroe......@ 1.35V the idle temps are 30C (Coretemp). When he changed it into week 28 Conroe........@ 1.35V the idle temps are 45C.......:eek: :nono:

My Week 28 E6600 didnt even idle 45C @ 1.65v on air.

Coretemp and Asus probe are not accurate at all either, do not trust them. Ive seen 70+c also, heatsink not even warm. Temps under water get even more crazy.

I have a week 28 that runs 38 to 41 idle and peaks out at 61C dual prime. (Water)

I have to drop the clocks back to 3.6 GHz for 24/7 operation.
Working on it but I cant get stable over 3.8
