Do you have APIC enabled in your BIOS? if so what mode 1.1 or 1.4? Also, under 'computer' in device manager, what type of PC is listed there?
What OS are you running?
These things are important to me as they seem to play a large factor in my NF7-S with 2400+ overclocking.

Yes...I have APIC enabled as default setting in the BIOS. Using 1.4. I'm running Win XP SP1. It runs as an ACPI Uniprocessor.Quote:

To be honest, when I was trying to get higher FSB speeds running 3D apps (before cutting the L12 bridge) I tried installing the OS with APIC disabled and not as a uniprocessor system, but it made no difference at all. Not a single mhz more was acheivable.
In fact, my limitations had nothing to do with the OS. I was getting Memtest86 errors in test 5 with higher FSB speeds....so I knew it was CPU cache/memory related issues. Cutting the L12 bridge cleared that up and I gained 20mhz right off the bat.
Since I cut the L12, I have not gone back to reinstall the OS again with APIC disabled to see if anymore gain is there. But, at this point, the system runs well at 220mhz so I'm not inlicned to mess with it....yet:)
Excellent! Thats all I wanted to know! I have an AthlonXP 2400+ and an NF7-S v1.0. However, I cannot overclock past 170FSB without disabling APIC and changing from UniProcessor PC.
So this means its either a problem with v1.0 board or limitation of the 2400+....interesting....
do u guys think an ax-7 will fit on this mobo?

I've got a Swiftech Quiet Power case that I have upgraded with a 226w CPU TEC, 80w GPU TEC, and a pair of high rpm 120 fans on the rad. It's basically the old Swiftech H202-B Kit . Works great:)Quote:

Got the mobo up and running...but bad news is these bolts for my dtek spir@l block are too big. They wont fit through the mounting holes.
just received mine today from scan uk.. gotta love this V1.2.. my psu rails have improved..

one thing that bothers me is the cpu temp is higher than bios13 (board v1.0).. hmm.. something is not right here.. is it normal for bios15 to have higher cpu temp reading? :smileysex

I talked to OPP and he confirmed what I was afraid of, there is no such version of SetFSB.
One thing I can tell you is that the 13 bios temp readings were way to cold. If the new bios is reading temps higher it may be that they adjusted it closer to the real dealQuote:

Yes, the new BIOS 15 is dead on with my digidoc, all other BIOS's were ~10-15c colder.

I'm so happy so far. Just put the board in about 15 minutes ago. I'll do some tests to see how far she can go. I'm 32C processor at idle which is about right with the cooling I have. Running 195X11.5, 5-2-2-2 DC. BBIAB.

Does the Spiral fit without hitting anything ? For bolt size go to 6/32 as i had a hard with with the stock 8/32 ones i recieved with mine.

Mine won't go that much higher. 206 worked but 210 and 212 wouldn't run 3dmark. 210 and 212 had severe video tearing and finally locked up. I was at a usable 195X11.5 before and am running 200X11.5 now. We'll see how stable that is.
I tried disabling apic and the computer wouldn't go into XP. Could someone explain what apic is to me? And how do you switch to uniprocessor? I'm running XP Pro.

BTW, the temps are much closer to being realistic. They do seem a tad high...but not too bad overall.
Oh...and one more thing...I've got 3DMark cooking at 225mhz now:D Woohoo...I love this board.

I tried this again. This is after I cut the bridge on my XP 2700 which got me to a silky smooth 24/7 220mhz FSB on the NF7 1.2 (although I can now bansi bench at 230mhz) all without a single mod to the board.
After disabling APIC and reinstalling the OS (just to be sure) I gained zip....zilch...nada. As in nothing.

btw running my hyper X @ 200 2-5-2-2 dual channel @ 2.9v (i just run high vdimm anyway). Had it @ 238 MHz on my Intel rig though..
this board seems like a winner, now for me to find a job and get some money todo some pc upgrades hehe
