By all means give us the info on the negative side, because that is just as important & relevant as the positives. Was stable long enough to take screen shot, save to Paint. Tried to run S&M but crashed after a few minutes. That was really pushin my RAM and the CPU.

the special bios might not void the warranty of the AN8, maybe only the AA8xe, the reasoning he gave had something to do with intel, so maybe AMD doesn't have that same thing?
so Gitsum what's your max stable htt?
Probably a little over 300 would be my guess.

I don't believe abit can track down warranty-voided serial numbers that easily. It's only a matter of someone posting the bios somewhere for everyone to download without s/n tracking! This could be the first warez'd bios lol!

Someone complained about the serail ata on abit forums but i think he's a noob and the array was reporting a bad HD. Sata working for your boards ok in raid or are you using single drives?

I think he just got a bad drive or his sata cable is bad i've found those cables to be bad right out of the box and cause the same error. In fact my an8x deluxe came with one bad cable and i raided my nf7-s box for one.

In other news. The audiomax sound card does not have a secondary input or digital input. Now being that this is a board designed with the "gamer" in mind would you consider this a bad thing. Me personally I only use one as i Cant listen to 2 cd's at once although digital might be nice. Any way i need to know what you the people think so I know if i should add it to the cons list or not. And btw how is the sound quality with that card?
Compared to my Audigy2 ZS, I didn't like it.
Once I played Counter Strike:Source with the AudioMax, I shut down and pulled it and put the Audigy in.
It would probably be fine for someone that doesn't want to buy a sound card, and I kinda liked the Nvidia Mixer software. I'll probably try it again later and spend more than 10 minutes messing with it to see if it can be tweaked.
Hmm I'd like to see a benchy when they review this on cpu usage versus soundtorm to audiomax to audigy to the current nvidia onboard sound.Quote:
