Actually I would stick to sub 1800...the core OC seems to get affected by the mems OC if it's up and above 1800MHz...dunno if it is becuase the heat or some other factor....if you got good sinks on the memory you could allways try though.

...but be aware that the memory is not advisable to voltmod, too risky in my book for the points awarded.

he went from 1740 to 1720 but raised the core..i think he should keep the 1740 and maybe find a lower core, i think he will get higher scores, just balance it out :)

Yes, I got 11.2k on 680/1800MHz so there is definately something thats not right.:)

You core is set to high I believe.

i get 10750 with 670/1850 with my 2.6ghz venice so i think 11k+ seems good for 700+ but same memory or lower, BUT WHAT DO I KNOW1 :)

Core clocks go up with lower memory clocks because the core isn't getting as much data from the memory with lower bandwidth, so it can do more clocks per, but isn't doing as much per clock.

but if that was the case... wouldn't that mean that very low memory clocks would give you insanely high GPU clocks?

When you are running a benchmark, the circuits are working at full capacity at whatever frequency you set. That is why you get higher scores with higher frequency.. if you are getting periods of inactivity, then that means you pushed the clocks too far, since it cant keep up with the timing. I think I know what you are trying to say, but just because you clock the memory lower doesnt mean the GPU gets to snooze on the job. ;)

Ill have to agree with clints view. When I pushed the mem over 1800 it artifacted like crazy and took about a week to recover. It now back at 1700 and seems fairly stable. It seemed it ran out of volts fast over 1800.

I'm gonna buy a 7900gt tonight - cant wait. What brand of card are most people using/getting the best results with? (eVGA, BFG, XFX, etc..)

Well if you can put-off getting the card for a little bit than I would go with eVGA as they just very recenlty announced a new batch of 7900GT with new part-numbers. These new cards are first going out as RMA replacments but will very soon be making their way to retail shops. These new cards are supposed to be perfectly fine with no problems what-ever. This news comes straight from Jacob Freeman, one of eVGA's major tech guys. Even if you can't wait I'd go with them, their RMA replacment program is simply great and very easy to take card of if needed. Last but not least I'm no fan-boy, I've just had very good luck with them and they really go out of their way to make your purchase a good one. Good luck man, you'll be happy with any 7900GT!

When doing the v-mem mod, using a multimer: where do the probes go to check the ohms. thanks

check the smd resistor.... it defaults at 608ohm....
