Are there any bios updates for the Lite-On 16x burners, Iolao? hehe.
Just got my xp1700 tb today.
it goes easily to 2ghz at default voltage, and this is with crappy air cooling, can get it to boot at 2,2ghz at default voltage but's it's unstable in windows. And i don't wan't to up the voltage on air cooling.....
Or should i kick it 2tm
you have a good chip....air cooled 2,2g....def voltage means that is a very good chip!!my 1700b can go at 2300 mhz at 1,6v....but not air coolrd...with a wb:cool:
16x is dvd speed and 48x is cd-rom speed in reading, it's a reader, I've not yet found a magic firmware :DQuote:

oh 8-)
You should run your fillrate tests and compare to my old 8500LE.. see how close we are (I ran the tests at 323/328).
I'm gonna test my rad8500 further to take back first place :) However your video oc is great considering it's an 8500LE... impressive!!! Did you modify cooling and voltages? Sorry for the OT...Quote:

Look at my very old 8500 setup, can't be compared to newer, but the score is still respectable, and I had that Hercules 8500 FDX LE oc. to 340/340 voltmoded and chilled water (5°C), it would be very interesting how much would I get today :)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=4046368
hmm i have to put a pelt on my gigabyte 8500 128mb deluxe =)
on a wc setup it does 350/700, nogo any more on mems (mayby with a new bios) but ive still got 120W tecs for some real chilling tests ;)
I've got my water hooked back up & the JIUHB 0252 is under the block :D
I will try to see this weekend what it can do...no chilling tho ;)
I received my XP1700+ JUIHB 0302 today... it does 2300mhz at 1.94v with silent cooling.
What do you guys think the live expectancy will be of this proc, if it were running 24/7 at max 40°C?
I can't see why it should even die. But on second thought, as I'm reading your sig, uufff that cpu got tough streak to beat :D:D:D
ok more seriosly did anyone got brown JIUHB 0302 yet, or are the still all green ?

That's the first 0304 i've seen, seems like one to look out for!
@morphlin: luckely the cpu's i've owned all survived. :D
I'm getting rid of my xp2400+ aiuhb, it's only ~150mhz 'better'.
Yes that 0304 look phenomenal, and it's brown my fav cpu color :D
:slobber: nice, my 2700+ does 2.8 at 1.9v in a Prommy, that's crap compared to the price of a 1700+, I'm gonna order 5 or so, and test :)
:toast: Have fun, don't break that miracle :stick:
seems i'll got my self a 1800+ to try for the second pc
(it's an RMA of a died cpu)
are 1800 jiuhb any good? maybe 0304 who knows ? :D
It’s fully on air so it doesn’t look like morphling’s Monster but I’m happy whit it.
:D
Anyway don’t laugh at my GC (SIS 4 MB) Am buying a RADEON 9100 on Sunday so seeya then…
;)
If you like to compare… go ahead… you’ll be sorry.

keep trying :)
2550MHz is the max I can do 3D @ so far.....been folding @ 2500MHz for the past few days...but I've got a warm water problem I need to work out...seems removing my radiator shrouds to get the rad inside the case had much more of an effect on my water temps than I ever thought it would. Be back with more! :D
I have some results on my week 3..
http://www.algonet.se/~andsuo/1700plus_revbweek3.gif
I haven't tried higher yet, lack of watercooling. It's aircooled by a shuttle heatpipe cooler with a sunon @very low rpm. idle at 47-48ºc at default vcore
After seeing what that JIUHB 0304 did at piopioshardware, I just didn't resist buying them all at a local hardware shop. :D
All XP1800+ JIUHB 0304
None are overclocking xtremely well though, but they all seem to do 2300mhz at a 'low' 1.85v. :)
Your links don't work either. :)
if you paste them in a ie-window they work for some odd reason.
I can host those images for you if you want.Quote:

Hey people,
My first post on the forum, so take it easy on me (pls:lol:)
Got out today on the lunch break and got myself a JIUHB 0303 morphs favourite brown color. (cant let you guyz have all the fun there). Now cant wait to get home and fire it up. Next week plan to get myself an 8RDA+ (is it good choice?).
Got KT3 Ultra ARU to play with the TBred for now.
Any suggestions on what to look into, overclocking on this board?
Also I got a Radeon9700 pro and a crappy Sammy PC2700 memory.
Any input is appreciated
really a good system, just swap ram for a faster one and you'll be :thumbsup:Quote:

Yep, good system, just a little better memory, but if you make voltmods for chipset (simple) you can get quite a lot even out of that Sammy. btw if you got by any chance rev C chips, then that modules should clock very well.
And of course welcome to xtreme :toast:
Hello Xtremers,
I've been following this thread for weeks now, and I thought I'd chime in now that I have a minimal OC system myself. I acquired myself a JIUHB 0302 1700 and a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP board and have achieved 2.1 Ghz at stock voltage, on o2 :^) My multi is at 14x because of the Micron PC2100(running@150) I've got, but I will undoubtedly grab some better RAM in the near future, and bump the FSB speed higher. It's been exciting watching everyone here succeed OC-ing with these 'New' CPUs!
got mine @ 2080 (166*12.5) @ 1.575V dont wanna push the FSB to hard since I want my videocard and nic to stay happy (as i know it my mobo doesnt lock PCI and AGP frequencies:( )
Unfortunatelly the mobo doesnt give me nothing higher than 12.5 multiplier. Is there a way to unlock it? (heard something about the wiretrick -> please provide with links :p)
Hope to squeeze much more from the chip when i get 8rda+
Cheers
Welcome te xtreme, Cmnore :wave:Quote:

How did you get the 14x multiplier? I can't choose anything above 12.5x with my epox 8rda+.
What chip do you have in that RDA Rich? There are chip mods that I know of that will allow over 12.5 on that board.... bowman and I have both done our 2600+/333 to allow higher multi's, and deathstar13 did a 1700 that I know of.
Actually I just realized I am in the 1700 thread....
Here is what Deathstar13 did to his chip to achieve the multi's Rich.......
http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...89#post1497289
Thank you for the welcome, Rich!
To tell you the truth, I didn't do ANYthing to get to 14x. The board just seemed to...let me do it. It must somehow bypass the CPU's +8 switch somehow, or at least ignore it. I've heard that some boards will do this. Mine seems to be one of them. Last night I tried to push things a little harder, and I got the system to 15x 148. For some reason the RAM didn't like running at 150 when the multiplier was switched. Voltage? I did have to bump the Vcore to 1.72 to get the system to boot. Now she seems stable as heck. Haven't done a torture test, but she ran XP and Sandra's tests just fine. My new speed: 2219! With PC2100! Can't wait for better RAM. She runs at 41C now. Guess I need a case fan...
Just spent two hours on amdmb looking for any kind of mod to get the multiplier higher than 12.5 (keep finding wire tricks for 2400+ etc. - obviously not what i need)
Would anyone be so kind to tell me how to do it (my mobo is KT3 Ultra ARU) or give a link?
Thnx
PS: question to morphling: whats your theory on why brown colored 1700+ are better?
Seems to me so far that I have to cut bridges on L3 to get higher multiplier.
Any suggestions on how (easy it is) to cut them? What is the most used method?
Thanks
Thanks for the info, will try it out. :)Quote:

Am so happy!!!!!
Let's make a :toast:http://republika.pl/overklocki/benult.jpg
damn it, my week3 didn't post at 180 fsb, I dunno if it's the motherboard, the cpu or the ram.. I don't think it's the cpu though.. I'm using a shuttle SN41G2 so I think that might be a problem in that.. they are not really made for overclocking.. but 11x166 is rock stable, and it's pwnz a p4 2,4 just a little.. so I'm happy :D

Hi ya guys.
Bought my new t-bred b 1700xp the other day and shoved it in my new abit nf7. Edit: got the cpu from www.overclockers.co.uk
Im air cooling with an alpha + thermal take "light" fan
I used my old RAM first (2100 generic and cheap) and got the 1700xp to 2.3ghz stable (135 x 17 @ 1.725 volt), 2.4 mostly stable (135 x 18 @ 1.8 volts)
I tried 19 x with lower fsb settings but it didnt like that clock speed at all.
After waiting a few days for my new corsair 3200LL...i swapped the RAM over and am now running at 2.5ghz stable at 49deg (under load) - tested with prime95 but with the fan on full :/ (5000 rpm 80 mm). Thats at 200 x 12.5 @ 1.825 volts
I can run it at 2.6ghz and get into windows but prime starts giving me errors.. also at this speed a have to run the cpu at 1.85 volts...and i really didnt wanna go above 1.8. (temp late 40's idle and into 50's under load)
Just thought i'd let you know how i'd got along, hope any of this helps... i'd state the stepping code but i forgot to write it down b4 smearing the bastard with artic silver 3 :)
Hehe, Tbred stepping is written on a sticker and not a core, so unless you didn't aply AS3 there too, you are obligated to give us the code :D kidding
You definetly got one great cpu, because 2500 1.825V on air is just incredible
oh yeah welcome to xtreme :toast:
Yep... those new 1700+ are damn good.... got another one, that does 2250/1.5V with Silent SilverMountain 2.... will try more later ;)
I tot I tot a :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: cat....
I did! I did tot this topic whose dead….
:D
yeah, i could get back to that stickor....but do you know how bloody fiddly alpha heatsinks/fans are to put on!
i just cant beleive AMD would do such a thing....my friends are selling their 1800-2100palaminos to buy 1700xp's...rofl
I think i'm gonna buy one from there soon :DQuote:

I'll keep you posted guys
my 2100+ is also damn impressive... I can do 2628 mhz with only 1,975Volts and plain h20 at 20C
mi 2100+ can do 2700 mhz at 1.875v...h20 4°....and 2760 mhz at 2.025v
Stop it guys or i'll have to buy a new cpu!
I squeezed the last out of my 1700+ today... 2.03V in the prom. Just for the screenshot...
Its strange by the way how some chips go great on air or water but hardly go better in the prom. This chip would barely load windows at 2.5 GHz air cooled, but in the prom is just flies... i've had numerous chips now which would run 2.55 GHz air super pi stable, but dont even load windows at 2900 in the prom.
Top of the bill, I got a 2400+ 0301XPAW ... 2533 MHz air cooled, I put it in the prom, it wont even load at 2800. stable at 2500 and a bit, 2600 freezes on me.... f*cking weird :(
anyway

Damn Jc that chip you got is great 3GHz out of a 1700+ is amazing
Great work.
Will we see it soon on the 3dmark top ten?
Sometimes it's not the heat that is to blame but some limitation inside the chip (bad wafer or else), so cooling it won't add any more oc

I dont have any graphics card to compete, sorry :( :( :(
Are you waiting for the 9800pro? That's really too bad as i see you as the god of the benchmark. A 3GHz athlon should rock with a radeon 9800Quote:
