*** The XS SLI 3DMark 05 and 03 Top 10 List ***

Update! The 66.93 WHQL FM Approved drivers are no longer valid. All those results will be pulled from the Hall of Fame. All WHQL drivers through 71.89 are approved for the Hall of Fame.

The Forceware 66.93 drivers have been re-reviewed and discussed with NVIDIA based on the drivers' application detection mechanism with SLI configurations and application profiles for 3DMark. It has been mutually decided that their approval will be canceled. Forceware 71.89 drivers are recommended for all 3DMark testing on SLI configurations

well not looking too good as looks like FX-55 won't be on the table (seller hasn't replied to me heh) and i've sold both my 3500+ CAA2C nice clockers in anticipation already. Stuck on my 3200+ winnie for now :(

Didn't see the last line of the post. Sneaking an edit in at work ;)

I updated the list to reflect the Ultra cards. SOme of the driver versions do cause detection issues for more than a few benchmarks. Wrong type or wrong clocks. But, the score is what matters, right?

In case any of you are interested, my eVGA's 6800U are not modified in any way. I'm using DangerDen NV8 blocks with ice-chilled water.

Wow, with a 3700+, no less. I am looking to get one of the new A64 4800+ x2 chips in the next little bit. I wonder what those will do.


What is the operating temp for the cores while running the bench? I ran mine with chilled water to around 25C to get them over 500 on the core. I used the Innovatek blocks. I tried a DangerDen, but it did not have enough even clamping pressure on all the memory chips. I did run them with a pencil mod to get a little more on the core. Didn't really help much. The temps were what really helped drive the core clock.

Last night my 4000+ came close: 12934 @3.16GHz: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=873296
but not enough to beat the 3700+ @ 3.3GHz even with higher RAM and GPU clocks.

My temps are about the same as yours but I've seen them as low as 17c when I stir the water. I had contact problems too but I solved it by replacing the neoprene spacer with a small piece of rubber so when I tight the screws there is more pressure in the center of the PCB.
My previous Ultras had the volt mod for a while and I got a few HOF runs out of them with H2OGun and Swiftech blocks but like you said, keeping the cards cold seems to work just as good.

4000+ is awesome we got a 3471Mhz screenir using a 3cm diameter Di tube, :D just trying to get a better tube made.

It has got a little quiet in the SLI world since the 7800 GTX leak. And, ATI now has Crossfire. I wonder how many SLI systems have found their way onto eBay ;)

LOL... expensive hobby ain't it heh

So, have to put some money aside for:

1. Dual core AMD 4800+ or single core top dog.
2. 2 x 7800 GTX (probably 24 pipe at first)

So, $2200 or so (US) for the processor and video component :eek:

A little predicting:

ATI answers back, and releases the 24 pipe r520 , higher clocks, but requires a new MB. Depending on performance gains over the 7800 GTX, nVidia fires back with the collected 32 pipe 7800 cores (7800 Ultra) and reclaims top spot. With the 110 process, yields are decent, and they have some cores cached. ATI answers back with a full 32 pipe r520 that has low yields, and we are back to supply issues. And it's summer 2004 all over again.

Guys, I'm having problems running my dual Ultras with the Forceware 71.89, always hang/reboot during the second test of 3D Mark 05. I even did a fresh install of WinXP but the won't go away. :(

Anybody have any idea what's causing this?

well i did break my old SLI score of 24,264 with new 24,460 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3998162 but won't make the cut on this list - all stock heatsink cards though LOL

Yup, cpu and ram settings are my 24/7 Folding settings and the graphics card is at stock...... no problem at all with 71.81 from the driver CD that came with the card.
