week 46:
CBBHD0446SPAW
3000+ does 285*9 @ 1,5Vcore.
This is a friend from oc.dk "Palmen", my own (exactly the same) is still on my table :|
do any of you guys use memtest for stability testing or just plain prime 95?
:/ pretty much like any newer previous 3000 regardless of socket.Quote:

do the newer winchesters still suffer from the subzero bug? or is it motherboard related?
I'm runing 2.5ghz and i'm gettig 36sec on 1m on PI. No worries here I think all we got to do is tweak the timings on the memory but i'm running all stock settings except memory timing to 2.5-3-3-7 @ 270 HTT @ 9x. All on stock setting :)Quote:

Little confused here, could do with some help from you lot as a64 overclocking is new to me.
System is 100% stable at 3 x 300 htt x 6 ( remove cpu bottleneck ) see screenie below.
This is with ram set to 100 in bios ( 150 real ) but if i up ram to 133 ( 180 ish ? ) pc does'nt boot.
ram is ballixtic pc4000 and runs perfect at 10*250 fsb 2.5-4-4-10 @ stock volts. so i know the ram is good to 250 fsb.
have no idea at all where the cpu limit is, really difficult to find it's limit. ( what programs/tests are people using to test stability ?? ) the pc is used for gaming so need's to be 100% 3d stable always 24/7. ( heard about problems with prime95 so maybe 3dmark05 instead? )
cpu does 300 htt at stock volts no errors/problems ( is that normal or ? )
Is there anyway to get this situation with my current setup.
a64 3500
2x 512 ballistix
msi k8n neo2
1.5xx bios atm.
sata hd on sata port 3.
Id like to be running
the ram at 200 2-2-2-5 ( it does this already ) but the cpu at highest possible cpu speed.
so do i try to find a answer between ram deviders 133-166 and so on and htt speed and exactly how do the ram clock's relate to htt like when i set to 100 and run htt at 300 ram runs at 150.
Thank's in advance for any info a64 clocking is alot more stressful than nf2 mobile 2600 clocking lol that was really easy ( 2.8 ghz ).
Wish this was as easy :p
oh and not sure on cpu week number forgot to check before i stuck the waterblock on which i dont wanna take of again :P, but the cpu was bought 2 month's ago from overclockers.co.uk if anyone know's what sort of batch's they had back then, they've been outta stock for ages now on winnie 3500's.
htt is used to determine the cpu's clock speed. the 3500+ winchester has a default multiplier of 11 (200httx11=2200mhz). now, ram speed is calculated down from the cpu clock speed. running 1:1 or as the neo2 bios puts it "200" will match your memory frequency to the htt frequency, but running any of the other memory settings will set your memory frequency based upon a divider from the cpu clock.
since you say you've tested your ram to 250, you can try running 11x250 and use prime95 or superpi to test for stability. i usually test superpi first. if it finishes one iteration of 32mm superpi, then i'll begin to prime it for at least 6-8 hours. if you want to use a 3dmark to test stability, you need to use 3dmark01 since it is more cpu dependent than the other 3dmarks.
if you want to use a high htt frequency then you'll most likely need to use the dividers for your memory frequency. when you change the htt frequency, it's best to use 4x for anything up to 250, and 3x for anything up to 300 and so on. you don't want your htt to go over 1000 (htt x htt multi), as it can cause unneeded instablity.
if i missed anything, be sure to ask, and if i dont answer in time, i'm sure someone else will.
what is the best stepping to get for the AMD 64 3000+ S939?
Looks like 47 TPEW to me :)
My 0446SPAW looks like it should do its 2700 which i want it to. I'm not demanding at all, i just require a 50% overclock otherwise i'll get a new one. And i want FX-53 performance for €130. Not demanding at all :D
My first post! Wanted to reach 9x290(2.6ghz) but I've tried everything I know and it just isn't gonna do it. System specs in sig.
might wanna lower the voltage on that. 1.76v for 2.53 is too much vcore, my old 3000+ week 37 did 2.5 at 1.55v.Quote:

Wow! Just checked my temps while playing cod and I saw 56 but only for a second. 55 seems to be at load. :slobber: What is the limit for 3000+ winchesters?? Also what direction should the case door fan be facing? Right now I have it pulling air away from my cpu and video card. Would turning it around help temps any?
56 is still ok, but beyond this and you will likely notice instability issues. start to worry when it's 65 and over. yes, turn the fan around.
Just saw week 50's at my local shop. This it was 0450XPMWs and UPMW
Where do u come from? :)
what are safe vcore...I am running a 3200 @ 2600 in prime 95 with XP90 at 1.6v idle and load of 1.63v
is this too high
What are the average results for a week 44 3200+ winnie? This is what I got from MonarchComputer.com: CBBHD 0444XPEW. Let me know how that stepping did for you please :) It will have a home on an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum with some PDP XBL (1GB). Any suggestions on how I should get a stable OC?
Thanks,
jhuezo
EDIT: It will be cooled by an XP-90 and a 92mm tornado. So, I'm adding sufficient cooling, I hope.

Hi, 2 questions:
- What is the recommended MINIMUM voltage for Winchester, and what is the MAXIMUM? (ON AIR)
- Now, that we have already prove that some Winchesters don't like Prime95, what is the recommend alternative currently?
- Also, I have a very annoying issue: My Winchester "flucatates" in 0.1mhz every few seconds, goes 0.1mhz down and goes 0.1mhz back. Vcore changes also. CPU is 3200+, mobo is Neo2 Platinum with 1.36b bios.
Thanks in advance !!!

[edit] I just made an attempt to read the thread again since I last posted to check on other peoples overclocks to see how they were going with the new batches of chips. There's as many and if not more people hijacking the thread for help, than there are people posting their overclocks.
Is it so hard to start a new topic in the appropriate forum if you need help instead of messing up a nice sticky thread that has the hard facts and figures from different peoples setups that others want to know and analyze? I guess I'm making a little request and having a rant to say a) Can we get this thread cleaned up pretty please! With icing, sugar sprinklings and a cherry on top! b) STOP HIJACKING THE THREAD PLEASE (sorry for caps, it needs to be shouted and repeated until the thread gets back on track![/edit]

Hey Guys,
I have a few glitches with my system. If I overclock it to anything more than 2.5GHz it will just restart itself. And for the cpuid result.. Im not sure why it didnt update the voltage on there....
I have just flashed my BIOS and managed to get it to do that superpi in 36 secs instead of 38 secs but restarted itself just after taking the screeny :(
I hope I can get these minor glitches fixed soon...
Any help is welcome,
Thanks for lal the feedback so far!
Alec
How much VCore are you feeding your cpu?
Can you post your memory timings as well? Maybe the settings are to thight and might cause the reboots.
And welcome to Xtreme. :welcome:

Alec - could you please post some more info about your proc? Thx.
Well. I have a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester socket 939 CPU with a Venus 12 fan and heatsink ontop of it. Usually runs at around 37 degrees (33 degrees or less when idle... 45 degrees heavy load and 50 degrees + when overclocked to around 2.5GHz)Quote:

My motherboard is the Abit AV8 type with 256mb of Corsair XMS3700 RAM (sadly running at CAS3 :( ).
My system tends to restart itself if I try to run superpi with the RAM timings altered so it is running equivelent to CAS2.5. The absolute maximum I can get out of my CPU at this curent time is 2.5GHz, anything more and i will just restart itself.
I also have a Radeon 9800Pro which doesnt like 3d benchmarking when my system is overclocked (anything over about 2.2GHz and it will randomly halt my system...)
I hope this helps, I will try to get hold of that number for you ASAP.
