nice work chew :D
nice work chew :D
Chew, what bios are you on? And how did you manage to get hypers stable above 2133MHz??
My buddy Brian Y. told me that if i wanted to impress him to show him that kind of effeciency on ASUS so here goes.
I had trouble getting that last tick out of it, then again I fought with the Giga for that last 6 mhz as well.
Now that 6 mhz is worth 00.500 for me, so that leaves roughly .250 left difference.
Variation in bench or board?
You be the judge.
Enjoy.
interesting...Its any logical result? Its diferent board to board etc (at AMD think is the best for superpi Cross IV Formula)?
And one from me sub 6min. My cpu is maxed there.:)
http://www.hwbox.gr/images/imagehost...104519e6f7.jpg
They are 4x2GB and they are also different. 2x2gb GTX2 and 2X2gb GT CL8.:)Quote:
Is that 4 2GB sticks or two 4GB ones?
Sure.....however I didn't use that board so I have no clue.
Red slots ( dimms 2+4 ), no more than 1.76 vdimm, I think Pll was 1.7? Bandwidth booster off ( useless for 32m ), Played with diff vcore levels and diff LLC configurations ( forget what I used ) which if you understand what this bench does and how it loads a cpu/memory can make a difference.
After that I followed this flowchart as far as timings go.
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38...manssecret.jpg
the subtimings would be interesting, the PSC sticks are running good on my Asus board, but Hyper...
I've played a little bit with 2500k and MIVE. The board is little bit tricky (all Asus?). Have to reboot 3+ times for getting the benches done with some freq..
chew, I'm looking for yours 32M and you're damn fast. Don't know is it because of the board or tweaking but I guess it's the first because my tweaking isn't that bad I think. Of course, I'm not expecting the same score with same cpu freq because I don't have Hypers but on 5520MHz I'm getting 6.03.xxxs.
I can do 7-9-7-24 too but have no time right now.. Next week I'm getting UD4 so I'll retest it and see is giga better or not...
http://hwbot.org/signature.img?iid=5...se&iehack=.jpg
Something sounds off if your doing 6.03 at 5520 and only 5:59 100 mhz higher.
Our scaling was preety linear with 2600K's, haven't had the luxury of finding faster 2500K's to compare though.
2600K
5520 = 5:58
5645 = 5:51
5746 = 5:46
i've got nothing on aristidis, his last loop>finish is a fat tenth faster than mine too, but here is my best from the UD7:
http://photos.3oh6.com/forum_post/20...66_7-7-6-1.png
the sticks used are 2x2GB GTX2's and the old 2x2GB OCZ Blade's that i found in a box. the Blades still got it i guess.
i can also run higher memory clocks, but not high enough to get sub 6min with my efficiency...
http://photos.3oh6.com/forum_post/20...81_7-7-6-1.png
efficiency falls off with the higher mem clocks because they aren't 100% stable, but more vDIMM doesn't help.
i'm curios to know what BIOS *chew is using on the M4E.
Usually if I don't comment it's because I can't unfortunately Jody, doesn't matter though.
I asked for some changes, thats the bios you will likely want, should open more doors.
I have and a better one but my CPU just for 0.1 bclock up needed 1.65 vcore.
http://www.hwbox.gr/images/imagehost...25ab624a63.jpg
last loop to finish highly depends on where your windows and Pi is located - Pi windows must always be on c: (!) and a rather small partition (<7-8GB, maybe smaller helps, hadn't the time to test until now)
can't remember if Pi had to be c: or different partition than windows - iirc for me c: windows and pi there also gave the best final loop.
(hope I understood your problem right - slow last loop?)
Waiting for a new C43 bios to continue 5 GHZ MSI challenge...with only 1.35V that isn't funny at all :(
asus MivE B3 can run 4x2GB hypers at 2133 776. B3 came with 1103 bios and that works fine. Latest official 1204 bios a tad faster with CFG Lock disable in DRAM timings screen (which wasn't in 1103 that I could see).
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...8GB_Hypers.jpg
Results seem comparable to UD7 adjusting for the UD7's 2Mhz extra (same XP SP3 OS, same subs):
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...8GB_Hypers.jpg
Still can't get as efficient as cheapseats' 5Ghz 8GB results on the UD5 though.
w00t finally found an MIVE in stock :) good by deluxe, hello cas 7
This is our last run at 32M:
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/...2_screen7i.jpg
Tonight we'll try to go under 6mins!
We had no luck trying to use the 2400mhz ram setting...
Splave, did you try it or you're stuck with the 2133mhz setting just like us? :)
yep best I could get out of my gtx3's
http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...in_58sec_547ms
The best we could squeeze out from our kit of bad kingstons was 2300mhz with ugly latencies and by putting ram kit@ln2... we tried also to use a lower bclk and the 2400mhz divider to have a resulting frequency of around 2300mhz, no post at all.
Massman just told me on hwbot forums that the 2400mhz divider was available only on es cpus, so that is why there's no luck in trying to use it :(
No way to squeeze out more than this:
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/..._32M6.00.5.jpg
Too bad we didn't break the 6mins barrier... we need some more mhz here and there :)
Just broke into 5m for 32M today... Have a nice chip though. :)
Ram is maxed unfortunately. No waza, need to have another go again with a different OS.
I just got the board and starting to get used to it :)
http://www.pohrani.com/t/Z/5V/1FgOh6m3/screen002.jpg
I have GTX2 here, but no go with MIVE :/
I just realized that if I put all subtimings on Auto, the MIVE B3 would get stuck at postcode 45 for 2133 7-7-6. But if I use the tweaked subtimings from my UD7 runs, it was fine. First time I tried 2133-7-7-6 I used the tweaked subtimings. Only now when I was too lazy to enter the subtimings after changing things did I find out the MiVE auto subs don't work on my hypers.
I think some auto sub settings are too tight (or too loose?) for the hypers @2133 7-7-x but haven't figured out which ones. Maybe chew* has.
Try these subs, adjusting bit by bit to see if it works for you:
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...vE2133subs.jpg
ASUS subs greater than GIGA subs, need lower sub timings on giga than asus for same effec, haven't had a chance to test ASUS tighter.
1298 bios has the subtiming changes + additions I asked for or it should, you can get it at hwbot.
Other fixes implemented also apparently but not at my request ( likely 24/7 user stuff ), once I test 1298 with the timing options I requested I will see if I can get ease of use aka easier to run 32m ironed out.
1298 should have same or better effec than the bios I tested.
what voltages are you at for that duder :)
I cant even post those subtimings with less then 1.85vdimm 1.15vCCIO
runs 1m and pf and insta fails 32m for me.
Funny thing is though even at 8 8 8 24 2133 and your secondary timings I fail right away so that leads me to believe it is sub timings or something else Im missing.
I'll be working on it this week, I'm well aware that it's certainly a "strain" to run 32m tuned to the hilt on m4e, possible but still a pita.
not bad for bbse :)
I like that MIVE llc actually works instead of just overvolting under load. Going to drop multi again and see if it will pass :)
(LOL @ Keygen)
@Splave
Sorry If I've missed it but what RAM are you using?... its flying
8-9-8 2133 ripjaws-X 1.725v 1.1vCCIO and healthy dose of vCore
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-450-_-Product
Its gone up in price a little now
Congratz Splave, good efficiency! :)
Thanks Splave, as ron says your efficiency is great. I have some of those & will have to give 6.9.6 another go last time I tested 6.9.6 I needed 1.78 just to post/boot so didn't give them a proper go.... maybe a handful of vcore will help.
FWIW, spi1m@1.65vdimm/1.135vccio and spi32m @ 1.75vdimm with those subs. But then again, that's 4GB with 1pc GTX2 and 1pc binned GT (CMG6GX3 2000C7). 8GB needs a bit more as the rest of my GT kits can't keep up with these two.
Speaking of 8GB, that problem with 45 post code on 2133-7-7-6 auto subs was only happening for 8GB. 4GB's fine with all autos so subtimings may or may not be the culprit after all given that tweaking subs still don't work for you and quake.
Anyways, i tried pushing the 8GB set some more and got it running spi 32m@2179-7-7-7 and 1m@2271-7-8-7 :
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...8GB_49x102.jpg
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...8GB_47x106.jpg
Im in awe right now! thats like amazing to me. Do you raise system agent at all? Anything funny in the digi tab?
This is pure awesomeness, having 8 GB of Hyper that run properly on maximus.... :)
The problem with above is what happens when you start running at max speeds of cpu.
5 gig was preety easy with hyper, max speed of cpu got alot harder, especially when tossing waza in.
I can run hypers with 4.5GHz on cpu, but with 5GHz and above no way... I spend at least 10hours with subtimings, but no luck. Also running on B2 revision, but I doubt that has something to do with it
New chips looks like its a monster! 1.475vCore in bios...on Venomous-X push pull.
Its booting XP so far at 56x100 1.53v 2c2t :)
Thanks. Used the digitab settings that default when you enable "Load extreme settings." Not much Vccsa tweaking on the 5Ghz clock--a couple of notches up from Auto. But the 8GB high mem-clock high cpu-clock setting below requred Vccsa fine-tuning.
Nice new proc you got there btw.
Yup. This CPU maxes out around 5.360Ghz (I think :D). I could get it to run 8GB 2153 7-7-6, tight subtimings with 5.348 Ghz but could only go 8GB 2184 7-7-7 with 5.324 Ghz:
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...3x100_9_-1.jpg
http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p..._52x102_4_.jpg
Once past 5324.6 on 102.x bclock, Vccsa, Vccio, and Vdimm needed very fine tuning with 8GB 1:8 strap --until I needed to raise vdimm further than what I'm willing to do on these EOL hypers. Loosening up the timings didn't help much after some point.
Sounds like the UD7 may not have the same problem? Will try it again sometime hopefully with a proc that can go higher than 5.35Ghz.
hello guys. maybe anyone can help me. i have a 2600k with an p8p67 pro B3 and a kit of Corsair Dominator GT1600 CL7 and they do 2200@cl7 1,65V on a P55 Board. But no chance to get them on cl8 or anything better on my P67. the ram stucks on cl9-9-9-23-1T@1,65V on 800mhz also than 1070mhz. Could it be that the IMC of the CPU is so crappy?
when you say they do 2000+ c7 on p55 I assume your referring to lynfield?
If so totally diff animal, lynfield wasn't very effec, sandy is very effec thus harder on rams.
weird. i can run 8-7-7 2133+ on my pro with kingston hyperx lovo's (hyper ic)... cas7 is a no go though. wont even make it to post, hangs at det dram every time... it may be a combination of things like the quality of the ram itself and the board. cas7 can be done (cuz i saw chew do it) but you better be prepared to put in some time and have alot of patience.
Got my new chip yesterday, not bad at all :D
Test Setup :
Core i7 2600K L042A969
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3, F2 BIOS
Apacer ARES DDR3-2400 2x2GB
Seagate Momentus XT 500GB
Antec 1200W PSU
ThermalRight Venomous X + Silent VIZO 1200rpm fan :p:
Have only tried SuperPi 1M and 32M
SuperPi 1M :

SuperPi 32M :

AIDA64 B/W , 2250C6-10-7 :
http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/p...2250_6107s.jpg
This is not my most efficient run though, I intend to finish Pi with 105.6Mhz BCLK and DDR3-2250C6-10-7 but Pi keep failing at this frequencies...need a couple more tweaks and adjustment I guess..
Also I'm curious, what RAM u guys use to get 2133+ 7-7-7 ?
Cheers ;),
Yes you're right. im referring lynnfield (i7-860). but for me its not normal that i cant go with cl8-800mhz on the SB. is it depending on the cpu how high i can go with the ram latency? this is my first sb. i have read that the max bclk depends on the cpu (with little assistance of mb).
@lucky_noob - Why is the Vcore so low ? most need vcore above 1,5V (even subzero cooling) - or is cpuz showing the wrong vcore?
my 2600k died..so now i'm playing with 2500k... max multi so far is 56x
Testing with GD65 and Apacer aress 2000C9.. can only run 2133 8-9-7-21 1T.. winXP SP2.... 2Cores
http://i430.photobucket.com/albums/q...mb_jengkol.jpg
is it right that the reachable max multi and bclk also depends on the motherboard and bios revision?
all cpus i tested seemed to have the same behavior:
if the max bootable multi is e.g. 54x the max reachable frequency is something between 5400 and 5500 mhz, no matter which multiplier i used. 54, 53 or lower.
(presuming i use one of the latest bios available - but no difference if i used u4 or p8p67 pro)
thx zachi. i've retested my cpu and it looks like the same.
but another question:
did anyone of you bench the sb with corsair dominator gt1600 cl7? i haven't any chance to give them lower timings than cl9-9-9-23 at 1070mhz on asus p67pro. anyone the same problems? if not then please feel free and give me a gift with your settings. and what are the highest vdimm you would gave them wir corsair airflow cooler?
greets and tia
Little update with 2500k sub 6min
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/562/capture3kf.jpg
your ram is highly palatable :) and 4 sticks zOMG low voltage blade?
Ocz Blade 2000 cl 7 8 7 ram , I needed 1.78v on it and 1.14vtt for those clocks...
Didn't try another bios, just one that came with board. Also need to play with Waza little more.Would be interesting in your 5502 screen just for comparation....
Here you go. I was actually looking at some of the other 8 gig results others posted to and they beat this easy. I doubt it's your tuning might be bios currently.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&d=1297635373
bought 3 new chips from the egg
1 is a 5.2 stinker
2 is a 5.5 1.58v 32m 5.6 boots into windows havent played with it that long
3 is running 5.6 1.635v 32m :)
not too shabby
Like cheapseat said gtx2 is faster than blade for almost 0,5s ( on same settings ) , will try to get gtx2 so I can compare myself. Also will try another bios just to see if anything changes in efficiency.Just got this board from store few days ago, no time to play seriously yet...
@Splave what batch/SN ?
Dont know if its any use to you but I just uploaded the GTX2 SPD if you want to try it
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=267853
Yesterday and today tested six 2600K L045B387, one of them could boot and did wprime32/1024 - 5637MHz, another one boot only 5400. I tested with water cooling, when i found 56xx MHz chip, i changed type of cooling and used SS.
So I tested 14 - 2600K, 5637 was the best. The friend of mine tested 3 - 2600K and 3 - 2500K which he bought in USA(I bought all 2600K in Ukraine), the best was 2600K 54xxMHz, and one 2500K we won(Nick and I at MSI MOA Ukraine) =544x MHz max  So guys who found good chip and didn't buy at least ten cpu's are lucky :yepp:
Yep its really really lucky to get even 5.5Ghz chip -.-
This first 2600k of mine is L039B470 and maxes out 5480-5500Mhz. Once i get it stable on superpi with SS i can run Wprime 1024 at 1.5v@5.5Ghz.
But that speed isnt enough when ppl got over 5.8Ghz chips :(
Gonna buy fev more and try my luck! Happily i got more platforms to test with LN2 soon!
2600K
#1 5400 mhz
#2 5260
#3 5370.
I am currently out of luck.Ill try again after 1 month, maybe new batches appear,or my luck will change? :)
Awsome tread guys , wooow i just finished reading the whole tread and it is an open book for learning , thanks for sharing the knowledge guys
working on efficiency. MIVE and CAS7 2000 Doms
Now that is nice!! :) You finally find good hyper kit and board which is working with it. Waiting for final score :)
Good result... What memory did you use and vdimm , for those settings ?
Got a 56X Chip out of the first 4 I tried but after that it has been a long uphill battle. Have tested more than 30 chips after the first 4, and none of them have been able to match my earlier 56X chip. Best I have found out is a 55X. Got even a CPU with SN# XXXXXXXX300 which with earlier generations mostly would have turned out to be golden but it was just a 52X chip.
1485 worked better for you i guess :)
Had time to work on efficiency, high memory with 7-7-6-x rulz :)

aristidis
bios? and green or black pcb?
1.85v
im amazed that they're not dead yet :D
Well done Aristidis and matose! Actually I think that Aristidis's run is the fastest @ 5GHz using PSC/BBSE chips :D
chip will not do 32m at .1bclk higher no matter what :) time to work on subs
