Yeah.. I'd need a key for that though.
Anyway, my scores aren't good with the single 5870. Like 96k. I had 127k with the 3x 4870 :(

Hello all XS users
please donate any futurmark unregisterd keys to josh (jcool)
see if this helps you josh
I have an extra 3dmark vantage key, let me know if you need it and I'll send it right away!
Thanks guys, but no need to, I have a few 3DM Vantage keys all right (they seem to come with lots of GFX cards and motherboards these days), also I may find an 06 key if I search the older Driver CDs.
I told Kathleen you told me i have to buy all of futuremark BMs or you will never come over again!
so i have them now...
Oh dear.. will I even survive another visit at your place? :ROTF:
Excellent work with the Phenom II X3 chew*!
awesome scores chew*
GOLD is GOOD :D
Yo brothers, whats up?
I just added some Athlon II X3 435 cups, doing some 2D pretesting on a new i7-975 on Saturday. If it turns out to be promising I may go for some 3x 5870 results.
Good work on the new chip today...
I just posted some results with an integrated graphics chip on a P4 system.... Decent results with that... compared to the others using that chip anyway... :ROTF:
Got a new GTZ waterblock but its the core i7 version so I need to get a different plate for it so it'll fit my Q9650 rig, then I'll push it up some more...
Sounds like you have some good stuff coming up! :)
Nothing much happening... looking for a chance to score big time on PCmark, didn't get around to it (yet)... maybe tomorrow at Bill's.
We've got my wonderful w3520, 5+ Intel SSDs, 3x HD5870, and some Hypers :D
Only missing LN2 now ;)
Good luck there jcool. I have to learn some PCMark basics, I'm missing lots of HWBoints there.
quick question, i would like to join. what are the requirements, are there any objections, any tips?
i doubt i will do much damage but i will support the team as much as i can.
No requirements, just join us at HWBot.
Wait, actually, there is one: push hard :D
i think i can do that. like said, my budget and resources are limited but i will do the best with what i got
:welcome:
Just do what you can, maybe put up a few points, and above all have fun. :D

cpu sucks
josh i need yours man
Dude that's not bad!
You got a classified FFS! ;)
We can do 230+ BCLK you'll see. I'll bring my 3520 Sunday or something.
230 not yet, there is a funky pcie relation i need to figure out
here is my best tonight
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=6208041
Yeah don't use HT for 03 and 05. Only for 06 and Vantage (all 3DMark I'm talking about, not sue on PCmark yet)
Dude check your email, we can bench later :)
Guys, got a problem here. I was gonna check PCMark HDD tests with 2x vs. 3x Intel X25-M in Raid 0, but I blew WAY past the XP Startup cap with 2 SSDs already and no real tweaks yet
285MB/s :( General HDD usage is only at 130MB/s though. Fresh Vista 64, freshly wiped SSDs, OS has a few SSD tweaks but that's it. Dayum, I guess we can forget about running 05 huh :(
Edit: Guys, I really don't get it. How can he run iRams and all that stuff without blowing past the XP Startup cap? How does he do it?
If that isn't explained/disclosed somewhere I'm calling BS on this system
Edit2: Here is the run.. 750 @ 4Ghz with just an old 8800 (only wanted to do the HDD testing now...)
http://database.he-computer.de/Bilde...es/2SSDnoR.jpg
Wooooo 7200 :) and more to come from new members
Jcool be warned as there is a 220mb cap speed on pcmark05, anything over it doesn't count... I've had my score for my E7400@5.4Ghzof 24K with 250ish MB XP startup being deleted... you have to stay sub 220 !! I sucks btu sadly it's like that... you can charge ya hd or system during the first test to lower the XP start up speed...
how do you select another hdd ONLY for first test?????
we have the advanced key
superpi run ? winrar quick decompression ?
we just got +27k on pcmark05...woot
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=2119812
7+ hours of benching on water and air and i am tired. Thanks jcool
Holy crap man, that was exhausting! But some of the finest benching I've done in a long long time.
Lol, I think we scored like 120 points with a single config.. on WATER :ROTF: The Xeon was flying (but craving some cold)
look we're got like 540 pts :)
awesome teamwork..........an active team too...congrats guys

oct 25 points comes from

I'm becoming a bit frustrated. Why do all CPUs that pass through my hands suck? It's unbelievable...
Still, it was a nice dry ice session yesterday. Got 1# 3dm03 in Poland :) using two HD5870s and one HD5850
Link?
Good job man
http://hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=913046
Setup has lots of power left, I was just running different benchmarks to heat up the pot. I'm not finished yet :)
So Xoqolatl
when you comming over to stuttgart
for some reason gpu-z dosent show my gpu speeds
And it coldbugs at -70 °C. Go figure.
I once had a W3520 that would do higher clocks 3d stable on SS than this CPU does on dice/ln2.
EDIT: Me, to Stuttgart? at once, when they stop bothering me with such boring tasks as writing reviews or going to lectures :D
Say "gulftown" a few more times and you might talk me into taking a plane to Stuttgart :ROTF:
That is a nice idea, but it would be easier for you to come to Poland and take your CPUs with you: we have a nice benching place here, cheap LN2 and DI not far away, lots of mobos and VGAs and other hardware :)
Ok guys, I got my Blood Rage PCIe mod done and it works. So far just messing around I hit 231BCLK x 21. Nothing great, but it's a start. I have to work today, but I will get to play Wednesday and should be able to put up a couple points for us. I am hoping to hit 240BCLK, not a WR but it will help my Vantage and other benchmarks. Anyway, this was my first solder mod and it was a real PITA, not to mention pain in the finger where I burned myself, lol.
Scratch that about having Polish 1# 3dm03 - I just dug out an old screenshot from 4x HD4890 with even higher score :) I couldn't submit it at that time because it would be in top20 global, and I didn't have ORB link, and later I just forgot I had it...:slapass:
Hmmm, that reminds me I need to see if this is below top 20 yet.....forgot the orb file :shakes: it was #8 when we did it.
On a side note I will be tackling 3d with a vengeance in the very near future, hopefuly I can grab us a few points.
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...sion/lrg_9.png
Just submit it - if it's still in the top tweanty, it just won't get any points and be flagged with a triangle. Points will be awarded automatically when it falls from top20.
I have alot of stuff in the works..... 1x 3x and 4x 4890, 1 x and 2 x 4870 x2, and I need to reclaim my 4850 throne, 3x 4850's should fit the bill.
When I have free time I can tackle 2600 pro's again, hd3300 IGP and I have a new IGP on the way :)
Soon ;) and this time I know what makes 05 tick so I should be able to improve my crappy 05 score's.
And what makes it tick? tell me so I can get some free points :)
Yeah, would like a PM too here :D
All I know is 4 cores is best, you loose points with HT on and with 2 cores disabled on i7 ^^ But I guess everyone alredy knew that.
Heh I know what makes it tick on AMD guys, asking me for intel advice is LOL. When I get around if I ever get around to benching this intel hardware I will let you guys know what i find :)
For now best I can tell you is play in the 05 low clock challenge and you will find points you never knew existed ;)
Got some stuff in the works here too but it'll be a few weeks before anything big happens... :)
The P8600 CPU that I was going to bench was DOA so I'll have to get that fixed... :shakes:
My waterblock for the Q9650 rig is coming in this week so maybe we'll have some more Q9650 burning/benching!
just got a E762, now i need 2 more 5870s that are no where in the world
I've got two here :) come over and we'll see about that Andre Yang guy at the top :D
you got the e762...you are lucky :D
Ok, if you insist :) I'm ready, just tell me when :)
sweet, i will have all hardware late next week
231BCLK x 21 with HT and turbo enabled. I know it's not great, but it's a start. This is after I did the PCIe mod for the Blood Rage. I should have some time on Thursday to start benching and improving it. I did submit it, but I doubt it is high enough for any points.
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=794165
awesome start Utnorris
ht on @ 4.8ghz is above alot of people...you're definitely on this team :)
i bet you can do 5gh...
1. try loosening the ram timings...
2. ht off
3. set to slow mode on the qpi...this slows down 3d benches...but with 2d benches like superpi...the high frequencies help alot.
4. raise that pcie freq
5. manage the bclk voltage so that it won't heat up the cpu too much...240mhz is prolly god with 1.45-1.495v..
******on your cpu-z the ram is somewhat borked...im not sure..but seems likeyour tripple channel is borked or your ram is borked
Yeah, it wasn't stable, froze after about 30 minutes just idling. Still playing with it. I will try those settings you suggested. I also have a 975 on the way, should be here Friday. Really going to concentrate on 3D Benches since my HD5870 overclocks so well.
benching is time consuming...i'll lay some basics notes so you won't waste time
remember 3d05..you don't need to run the cpu tests...crank your cpu here....use super pi to test for stability.. like 4m
06...xp is still king here versus vista... i have yet to try win7
03...also xp ....not sure if there are tests that don't need to be run
01..also xp....some tests don't need to be run
with your 4.8ghz try benching wprime32....its less than 10 seconds
**guys say if win7 is faster..i have yet to bench with it :)
I believe Vista and W7 are currently faster in '06. It's not the OS, but the drivers for Vista/7 are better.
3dm03 - you only have to run four tests on the top. Don't run CPU tests.
3dm06 - same story, but four GPU tests.
LOD helps a lot in 3dm03, don't know about '05.
ok i'm verifying the os
for single/dual card
1. aquamark - xp....this is what i use...its fastest for sure..look at stummerwinter's world record..he's using xp
2. 3d06 - xp..this is what i used...and andreyang uses this..check his world record.
3. 3dmark05......here its vista??? stummerwinter's single card world record is using vista....andreyang is also using vista.....i need to redo my stuff here..
4. 3dmark03...here its windows7...kingpin uses win7
5. 3d01.....here vivi uses xp......world record holder for single card...
vantage...,,,,welll you know the os...
also for superpi....i use xp...
wprime is more vista...some say its got better memory management...
hope this helps with u guys...
Unfortunately, for the time being I will have to bench with W7. My second HD is off to be replaced and I use this computer for other things so dual booting isn't an option right now due to space. What I will do is setup an XP disk with the benches you guys recommended for it and do those. I don't have the dedicated time for benching, so these time saving tips are extremely helpful. Thanks guys for all the advice and help. Tomorrow should be a at least 6 hours dedicated to messing with maxing my overclock and doing some benches.
3d benching, what i have observed on AMD platforms.
Single card 03-06 XP.
Dual card is a tossup between xp and vista.....its a catch 22 higher cpu score in xp, higher gpu is vista.
3-4 gpu configs....vista hands down except for 03, I have found win 7 to be 500 points slower in 06 and slower in 05. Do not use 4 cards for 05 it scores worse.
LOD...is card dependant.
03 an 05 is straight forward.......06 and vantage you will need to rename the exe....try renaming to 3d05.exe for starters ;)
There are other things all the exe's can be renamed to to give a slight boost in fps and allow LOD ;).
Last but not least with ATI and multicard BIGGER clocks are not always better. There is a sweet spot, play with gt's individually and work your way up with clocks speed, you will find the sweet spot, this is also bench dependant.
Thanks for the help chew*, noted. :D
Lets just say it's card dependant but with ATI 1200/1200 is not necessarily faster than say 1045/1065 on a 4890 for instance. It's not about clock speed necessarily it's about what combination boosts your GT's the most ;)
You need only pay attention to GT's that are most heavily impacted by GPU power.
Total system tuning will net you the gains you need in system biased GT's.
Give it a shot.
You don't need a bloated program like riva if all your doing is setting lod with it, just use SetLODB6
I'm obviously not going to post what LOD settings to use publicly.
Those running 01 ( which I don't bother with much anymore ) I can offer a simple tweak.
NOTE PM's from non XS team members will be ignored.
As far as nvidia it's my achilles heel, I have not used one since FX 5XXX series so other than a ballpark for LOD I can't help ya much.
Last but not least I don't condone LOD as just about any game with anticheat will kick you for it.......a cheat is a cheat however just about everyone uses it, sort of would you jump off a cliff if this guy does......but thats another discussion best discussed in another thread.
ok working on it
im making notes for each 03 run and writing down results
so far not much gain but enough
LOD doesnt get you kicked or banned in any game I played (any Source game, UT3, Quake 3).
RivaTuner can only set LOD on Nvidia video cards, which is a shame, because with SetLOD you can only choose integer values, and Rivatuner can adjust LOD up to one decimal place. And remember to run SetLOD as admin on Vista/7.
Great, been waiting like 1.5months for my dewar from germany, and it arrived to day.
Safe to say i was not amused when i saw the inside :(
http://www.thijskramer.nl/img_1.png
buyer showed me pic of it being intact, so during transport prolly someone dropped it,
or what ever, must have been hard atleast, cant amagine it breaks easily, and its all around, so must have been severe.
So i need to start looking for another one, argh
On the upside, received my XFX HD5770 + New HDD,
and hopefully friday / saturday my W3540, which is quite a capable thing  !
that really blows
dewar'd
hope you get a good one next time
Ok, so I ran into a slight setback, my phase got too hot and I had to shut it off. I was trying to stabilize my overclock and after about an hour it was just too much for it. I will try some more tonight with the 920 before I swap it out with the 975. Really want to see what I can do with it first.
Thanks for the kind words! :)
Finally I'm back online and it feels good to have you all back.
Many great scores were made during my absence, congrats to all of you!
I even saw the great 03 day on hwbot when I was at university, and of course I have a picture: :D
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/739...ctober27th.jpg
@jcool and billdavis: It's cool to see some other Germans pushing for team.XS, maybe we could do a session someday?
For now I'm off to read all the new threads....
PS: Damn.... I lost so many cups and points at the bot... :(
welcome back Don_Dan
yeah the ati camp is putting everybody down... i'll wait for the dual gpu from ati...dangerden has the waterblock ready for it :D it will be exciting to have a new dual gpu..
woooo nice scores chew and xoqolatl(is this suppose to mean chocolate?) ...im assuming you guys shared a good bios :D
hardcores
e762 is available at evga :D
i just upgraded my wc set so i can't grab one :|
I want! :yepp:
FINALLY they released that chip......
I hear that an i7 930 might be coming out....
Wish it would have 6 cores and 12 threads for under $500 and a low multi like the 920... :(
Can't wait until gulftown, some amazing new numbers will make these totally obsolete... :p:
Bios? no, to be honest that score was not pushed at all. Yotomeczek and me were just testing a motherboard. I don't have four 4890s any more, and I don't have three or four 5870s (yet) so I can't really improve on that score now.
I really need to get used to methodical testing and benching - too often I would run two 3DMarks on one setup when there is four to get points for.
jcool, billdavies, Don Dan - let me know if you are going to meet, I'd really like to meet you
BTW I have a 960 sample coming my way, maybe it will finally be the sub -100 °C chip I need.
So you got it? jeesus Bill, your wife will kill us (you first though :ROTF: )
lol, i know
selling all my old stuff i have broke even minus 1 5870 and the 960...so i hope to sell the stuff that is still comming and not be so in-the-hole
but yeah im in trouble
