Especially with a door and under $300 I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Especially with a door and under $300 I would buy it in a heartbeat.
sign me up for one the day it goes live. :) great job.
wow what a well thought out case.
its like a TJ-07 built with watercooling in mind the entire way through the design process with the volume cranked to eleven !
If only a company like swiftech or MM picked up that design and marketed it. It'd be all over that in a heartbeat.
Plenty of opportunities to bundle WC setups with it at purchase a'la old school koolance but done right !
bravo !
Hey Mick. If this doesn't get built in a month or so, I may have the funds to Protocase myself one. Would it be possible to get the sketchup version to submit to the builder ?
I hope you can produce this, i will buy it in a heartbeat. If you cant, please be so kind to put the sketchup online so i can construct it myself (ill make a wooden one)
If I was to Protocase it, I would more than likely just prototype the first one for myself (at a cost of about $2000-$2500 I estimate), then I would offer to let others buy cases off of myself and use their purchases to subsidize my initial lay-out of cash. If too many people got in on the initial protocase buy, it would make subsidizing tough to manage (splitting everyone's money several ways). Of course, after the first one is made, the CAD drawings of each piece would be available, so the cases made after the original prototype would be much cheaper (though probably in the range of $500 since this would not be mass-produced). At that point I would take orders and make a bulk buy when I had, say, 10 or more to be built.
As of now, I have not gotten a response to my request for the sketchup, though.
Well I'd be interested in either option, regardless. Let me know if Mick does allow you to prototype it and go from there.
^^^ We'll have to see what happens with my current venture (which is looking promising, I might add).
If things don't pan out, I might make my SketchUp models available to certain individuals, but I'm hoping that, eventually, my financial situation will improve and I can have a go at building it myself.
I'm also currently working on some detailed 2 dimensional drawings of all the individual components of the case. This will make producing the case much easier.
I could almost make your chassis with some slight changes. The problem is the difficult bends. I now have "somewhat" access to a water jet.
I'm making my own chassis. Very much like yours but with some changes so I can make it at my fathers workshop. I don't know what to say but the problem is that you have to make special tools to press the aluminium to be able to make some certain parts and edges. And that's very hard because if you just make a prototype it will cost a lot of money.
Things like the rounded edges, side-panels etc etc. I would be able to make an prototype If you could simplify it a bit. Else you need tools like lian li and them uses :) And sure, we could make the tools but that takes time and costs money. And I'm not sure if they have the right machines.
Love the case, Would like to see a prototype soon
Been watching this thread with much interest. :D
Just a couple comments. Seeing as how the front fan is the main air intake for the case, is there some kind of option for a fan filter? Also, how are the reservoirs filled and drained?
The filling and draining of your reservoirs is completely up to you. He is designing a case for the general watercooling public and it is up to the consumer to mod the case to their needs. :)
amazing case.. i would pay a grand for this
I wish that I could be posting something more than another render, but there hasn't been any further progress to report. So another render is all I can provide at the moment.
I've created a few more components in ScetchUp for this render. Here's what's installed......
Xion Thermal Control Panel
Lamptron Fan Controller
Primochill Typhoon III
Optical Drive
6x HDD’s
4x SSD’s
Asus Rampage II Extreme
3x Dominator Memory
Heatkiller Rev.3
2x EVGA GTX 295 Hydro Copper
Bitspower Rampage WB (Black Freezer)

Great project
Also nice to see how you're getting better with rendering.
Good luck with making your case-dream come true :D
Another Suggestion If its not too late, i know the case is allready huge.... and gorgeus i might add! Extend the Case in length a little more, so the top drive bays can accomodate full size drives and accessories. and to enable longer PSUs to fit in the bottom without too much fuss. If someone wanted to use 2XTyphoon 3 pump/res combos it looks like they are out of luck at the moment....
I wouldn't want to increase the size any further. It's already bordering on insane!
There is enough room to fit most long PSU's and it is possible to fit a Typhoon III in the top. However, routing the tube from the res' would be a bit of a problem, but not impossible....
Love that cheese-whiz color with black!
you sir are a tease
Wow that design is amazing... I've been trying to decide on a new case for a dual-loop setup I want to do soon, and your case blows everything else I've looked at out of the water (pun intended.) I'd definitely want one!
omg... DO WANT
Has Tom from ChilledPC contacted you yet?
I pointed him this thread so maybe you can finally arrange that your design comes to life
All I can say Mick, is you're amazing! The renders you do are insanely good.
I have had two complaints about this case, the lack of hard drive bays (4 is not a lot), (he other is that it was not available, first one is solved, Even though my tj10 is relatively new (< 1 year) and I have 2 internal radiators I would probably buy this once its available (and certainly for my next build)
In this latest render I have inverted the motherboard.
I have squeezed in a second typhoon III in the top bay so that there are two separate cooling loops.
To make enough room in the top section to route the pipes, I have replaced the 38mm width fans and shrouds with 25mm ones leaving plenty of room along the left side for the two pipes.
The 120.4 rad in the top is now cooling the graphics cards and the motherboard.
The 120.3 rad in the bottom is just cooling the processor.

So much cleaner and better looking inverted! Top work yet again.
No word on any possible manufacturers yet?
Not to be super negative, but I really don't think this is going to happen. Believe me, I really hope it does, but when you consider the closest production case to this is the TJ07 and that they run about $300 in retail, I'm betting that these are just too expensive to produce and sell at a reasonable price. At this point, I'd be happy if Mountain Mods came up with a new design that was based on this case.
Just keeping the dream alive!
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...I-Piped-16.jpg
Haven't commented until now, but pretty much the perfect case. Nice work!
Great design,I like the inverted MB, perfect
I wanna buy one already.
Yea, inverted atx makes it even better looking:clap:
no news is bad news?
Not necessarily! I'm in the process of producing the detailed 2D drawings required to cut the parts on a CNC machine. I will then be in a position to get solid estimates on material and production costs. I have had a couple of offers of financial backing, so I'm still optimistic that this case will get built. However, due to personal reasons, I have very little time at the moment. This means that I am unable to progress the drawings for a while. It's very frustrating, but can't be helped.
There is still the possibility that WCUK will produce a case based on my design, but my correspondence with them seems to be falling on deaf ears. I don't know what's happening with them at the moment, but they haven't told me that they're not going ahead with it! Again, very frustrating!
thanks for the update - hope things manage to progress. All the work you've put into this deserves some sort of result!
I hope this eventually makes it. I would love to have a case with this much room for my first WC build (coming soon-ish). I'm a big fan of the all internal WC setups.
GREEEEEN that is my favorite one so far. GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME
I'd take a black one in a heartbeat! I want something that'll match up with my EVGA X58 Classified that is on its way.
If you're talking 4 way SLI, I'll need to add another slot! :shakes:
Another slot?!? Holy cow, lol! And no, at most I'll be running 2x vid cards, and that will even be a stretch. I only have my one 4870 1GB card at the moment.
Black and red !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! give me !!!!!!!1
pm me i have a proposition mick
man everytime you release new pic of this case in diff colours it simply amazes me even more!
i REALLY want one lol...i'd buy all my pc stuff and wait and wait for this to come lol
Very nice! Don't like the inverted though.
Does inverted atx have a advantage when you are water-cooling? Always thought that it was so the hot air would not rise to the cpu. And that was why you inverted? But that does not matter if you watercool the cpu right?
Or am i looking at this the wrong way?!
inverted atx = show of your GPU block :) to me at least .
Ok, I'm about in love with that Black and Red one. Would be total geek pr0n with the EVGA Classified, some black tubing, the Ek full block, and a sleeved PSU w/red and black... omg!!:yepp::yepp:
i would kill to have one of these cases. it would be utterly amazing.
mick you get my pm
awesome design! would it be better to have the fans in a push/pull layout around the radiators though? preferably with a gap between the fans, the radiator and the sides of the case?
also would be cool to accommodate 120x55mm fans
The fans are in push-pull?
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...-Piped-16b.jpg
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...I-Piped-22.jpg
oh the picture I was looking at seemed like the fans were stacked. BTW, have you considered giving your plans to a local fabricator for a quote and having a group buy thread to get some built?
one more thing, considered putting a lid on top to access the reservoir fill caps?
awesome! that`s the only word matching aproximatly your work with sketchup. it`s great!! i love it, no i need one!! :D
just very few minor changes i would propose...
to get a cleaner front, why don`t you plan the 5 1/4 bays covered? e.g. you can do a stealthmod with your optical drive? and further more have you thought about not using mesh for the intake fan? something lasered or engraved out of the aluminium instead of using mesh?
same for the sidepanels, why using mesh and destroy the very clean look?
just some proposals...
keep up the great work, and if the case really gets into production, it`s definetly worth a look! all the discussion about the price are just waste... if you think about an MM, which ist "just" a modded retail case (999$)
Wow, just wow! Haven't read the entire 23 pages, but are you actually thinking about putting this into production? I like the look and the split top/bottom space instead of all at the bottom! Excellent idea!
Mike
I've been keeping an eye on this for a few weeks and decided to post finally :D This case is simply stunning. It's simple (enough :P), very effective, very visually asthetic and a very detailed work-log. If your interested I will offer a bit of financial support, it won't be much because I'm only a restaurant manager but it should help :) (especially if it helps you get your dream design to the world of enthusiasts and enables me grab one of these beauties :))
P.S. Take a gander at this http://www.overclockersclub.com/news/25515/
Would this motherboard fit in your case? If it's devoted to water cooling enthusiasts then i would presume a fair few would spend the dosh on extreme systems with this motherboard as a base
http://www.e-aquila.com/computers/
give them a look
beautiful and very functional case. Let us know when you have a price.
+1 inverted.
Do you guys think that this case would be better if it had support for 140mm rads also? That will increase the hight about 4 cm. Is it worth the extra hight?
Its even big enough to support a 140.4 rad in the top if you add the extra hight in the compartments (about 20mm to each compartment).
I'm starting to think its a good idea. And I think that the support for 140mm rads will make up for the extra 4cm?
Let me know what you think.
i don't see how it could hurt. maybe allow 140 in top and only 120 in bottom if you are worried about height that much. either way i still want one.
Still no solid news...:shakes:
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...I-Piped-24.jpg
Try all black inside and out, with the blue fans/tubing. Love the blue you're working with.
This case is simply amazing. I think i speak for many when I say i'll retire my TJ07 in a heartbeat for one!
I love this case, but one thing that has been driving me nuts....
http://i48.tinypic.com/25hpw08.png
I've always hated stuff like this. Why not take a couple of fan controllers for all those fans instead?
Why? because some people want ports.....
They are modular though, you can remove them if you want. :yepp:
The bay at the bottom is very shallow, but you might be able to squeeze a fan controller in there?
Edit: I should have said you can move them to the top as well if you so wish....
Bottom located ports on a big tower case that people basically put on the floor, bad idea. That was the biggest downer with first Lian Li V-series, later corrected on their new A7x, A6x series (ports on top panel as they should be). I know first hand, had a V-2000 until now, moving to an A71F, i already love the top mounted ports. Actually the PC-60F cases we have got at work have the top mounted ports too, and i noticed people use them a lot more naturally.
from the look of the case ... it's a GIANT case
i wonder if you would make a smaller less refined case? you know more like erm .. tower size? imo i think it'll be a problem for some guys to put on the table ... the depth is quite large
good work btw. great design
Great work definitely!
I Agree with Serpentarius!
I would also like to see case for:
- 1 × 480 RAD on top
- possibility to mount 1 × 120 on the back.
- space for pump and reservoir (250 RES)
In reasonable size.
Height: 540mm
Width: 200 - 220mm
Length: 560 - 600mm
Very very great design!!
Are the fans in above the Gentle Typhoon ones?
Yes those fans are the GT's, he just "painted" them blue.
amazing case, gigantic but in a good way.
this is my favorite render with those two reservoir shining over there in an elegant order, can we please have a render with the side panel included? I hope the window is like the yellow rectangle, showing only the liquid goodness and hiding the unnecessary stuff.
http://i49.tinypic.com/j7qfqd.jpg
another suggestion, I can’t find the proper english words to describe it so I hope you’ll get the point.
making some curve in the case body, not necessarily the same in TJ07 but I’ll put it as an example.
http://i47.tinypic.com/2mm6zqb.jpg
car manufacturers do this kind of stuff which make the front bumper for an example look stronger than what it really is like if it was built from a thicker material, and I think this kind of curves do really strengthen the body.
and it gave an extra dual color painting option for the case.
and why not adding some murdermod finishing ideas like something similar to their TJ07 Serpentine Topgrill?
nice case and nice 3d work
is it your work ?
would render an all black with a light in red and one white?
I would like to see this case as well
Amazing work!! I would definately buy one
Finally, after watching your other thread "What do you think of my "water cooling" case design" for months and it hardly move at all, I then find that you have started another one.
So after reading ALL 24 pages I am back up to speed with this sweet beast (in blue).
Mick I am glad to here that you are still working on the 2D drawings, I know this part can take heaps of time and even try the patience of a saint.
However I really feel it is the first stage, in taking this case from dream to reality.
This is really the only way to work out how to build the case from the ground up, and, like you stated, then take the 2D drawings to get accurate costing quotes,
of both materials and labor, aluminium being the cheaper of the two, by far, as labor cost will be where the real cost will add up.
I have read that you have taken or at least contacted some, probably all case manufactuers about building this case as it is.
However, have you asked them Point Blank (after they have seen what you have) what you would need to change/modify/add or remove from this case to get it to a prototype/production stage?
Have you contacted Bitspower about taking the jump into building a case?
As Bitspower make excellent fitting why not cases.
Keep up the outstanding work Mick and stay positive mate, I really do belive you will get there.
Eddy_EK needs to jump on this :D
Contact Corsair aswell, looks like a good addition to their case ;)
The case is really nice but I'll tell you right now why the case won't go in production by any company. It's to specifically geared towards watercooling. In the end you can only house in 4 drives and have 3 5'25" bays.
Now what do most people have.... still use aircooling and more often than other who buy big towers because this will be one is the fact that it has too little room for drives. To give you an idea. I have 2 IcyDocks 1 dvd writer thus filling all 5'25" bays. and have 5 hard drives. 1 for boot/apps 1 for games 1 for downloading (something older) and 2 for for somewhat longer storage. Not to mention the 2 USB drives and until I find myself the time to finish my idea of a new fileserver case i'm designing I don't think the situation will improve on the drives side :(
Anyways besides that the case looks awesome. although I don't like the low USB ports.
You obviously haven't read the whole thread or you would not be making these comments! The case is extremely versatile. It is possible to fit ten drives, if that's what you want, and the ports are modular so you can put them in any of the bays or remove them, and yes I did specifically design the case for water cooling!!!
Ok, seriously. I know we are all dying here. Is this case ever going to be made? It looks great and would be amazing.
Maybe?
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...II-EVGA-01.jpg
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...II-EVGA-03.jpg
WOW! Best render yet Mick!
Man I would love to have this case, if and when it gets into production I WANT ONE.
Nice Job.
if the case is already that big and extreme
you might as well put 140mm rads in
it will be the future standard so why not
/2 cents
With the side panel on and a little internal lighting.....
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...II-EVGA-02.jpg
Mike,
I really wish that you could get Lian Li to build this. I would put in for a pre-order right now! It seems like they already make speciallized cases for stuff so this would be perfect for them. I think they would sell a decent amount of them. If you think about any case maker is really a niche market because home users buy a Dell or so. So for anyone to make a case like this would just make decent sense.
Great design. I enjoy the removable tray with the inverted board like a lian li.
I might have missed it in the previous thread but is that a T3 in the top bay with a 480?
Again great job.
