We found Sapphire's HD4870 X2 listed for €433 on two sites. No surprise price wise, and as expected the GDDR5 flavored version comes first. Even though they're usually a little higher in Europe, I'd expect them to be in the $600 range up here.
Pricing on new cards is same as it is in the US (you can buy HD 4850s for less than $180 here). It is the older cards and motherboards that still carry the old currency exchange premium.Quote:

pretty good rule of thumb with hardware is that the price in Euros is almost a 1:1 (maybe 1:1.1 now with currenty rates) ratio with US prices due to taxes and other things

That Tweaktown review was a complete waste of time. Half of it was run without AA, a quarter of it was synthetic benchmarks, and all the CrossfireX runs were on a P45? I mean WTF.. that board does not have the bandwidth to handle CrossfireX. They even published a review in the past showing what a bottleneck it was with multi-GPU setups.
