Don't worry i only ran it there for 1 minute, it saved me from resetting it as it restarted itself. I'm happy with 3.2ghz. Just need to get my RAM up to 1600mhz now. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info on that mate, I don't opn cpu-z and other monitoring software at the same time. I found that Electromigration was causing it. i.e. when vcore is set above 1.5v it causes PC Probe II to behave wierdly. Since I can't run 3.6 with safe voltages, I'm staying at 3.2ghz. Testing out these ram settings now.
By the way, has anyone else had this issue I had of after a failed overclock, the mobo would "ignore" your OS boot hard drive?

Use the most stable settings, as in 8x settings, P1 & P2 auto. It usually crashes if the CPU is unstable, freezing means its either ram or mainboard. Have you ever checked your ram with memtest?
Make sure you got the right settings, start with 1.46 NB for now.
cibic i think its best if i set the volts back to the older setting which did run blend and gpu stable and from there on try and fix the mem problem

i tried with the 8x settings too, but i can never boot properly. when i set all the settings to auto it works properly but freezes randomly. when i use the settings you written i can't boot properly. i tried memtest86 using a cd. it starts but reboots the pc after 30seconds. do i have a memory problem?
You can't achieve stability by going lower. The thing is you shouldn't run prime95 blend and gpu caps viewer together until your cpu, ram, mainboard is stable first or it degrades the torture of memory and cpu. if u get failing cores again, do this:
Increase vCore so on load it drops to 1.225, you can use LoadLine Calibration if you wish (so your voltage won't go over 1.23) and reduce VTT to 1.22.
At this point if you still get failing cores then there's something else that's unstable. Test memory with either memtest86+ for dos or windows (preferred), let it run for 6-8 loops or 200%.
By the way, you could be very close to stable once you eliminate failing core issue.
Sounds like it gets less voltage somewhere. Probably vCore.
For starts you can let me know what msg do you see on LCD poster, or where it usually restarts/freezes.
Print or write down the voltages I gave you, then set everything on auto and compare values in voltage monitor and let me know if there's something lower.
Note to all people using prime95 blend and gpu caps viewer to find NB voltage: If you found the appropriate voltage and you have P1 & P2 to Enabled then set vNB a notch higher for utmost stability.

I set the settings you written for 8x and checked the voltages on voltage monitor in the bios and saw these differences and noted them for you. you asked where it froze. It freezes the moment you see the windows vista sign before you see the desktop. So i can't see the desktop.

these are the settings for 10x stock settings using all auto voltages. i only set memory manually in order to get 1.8 stable. other settings are set auto and i read them again in voltage monitor in bios.

That's odd. Try my settings again with 1.76 Memory voltage and 1.44 NB, PLL 1.52, VTT 1.28 with Enhanced Intel SpeedStep(tm) Tech. = Disabled this time.
Also check if memory timings are correct.

i did what you said. Memory timings are just like what you said. I used the settings you told me and tried vcore between 1.3-1.4 but it was never stable enough to see the desktop. it froze just before you see the desktop.
It could be something overheating - explains why voltage increment leads to freezing. Check your temps (from temperature monitor in bios) asap after a freezing. While watching NB, SB temps (should be under 60 Celsius) touch with the back of your hand skin your ram sticks and try to keep it there for 8-10 seconds.
You can try every voltage on auto, since it boots, but with 1.76 or 1.78 vDimm and test memory for 10-12 loops (memtest86+) or 200% (memtest for windows, prefered).
Yes I have with an unstable OC. Nvidia Sata Controller is prone to data corruption with improper setting. Normally resetting to stable clocks in bios will resolve the issue but I have completely hosed the windows installation when overclocking and testing in windows. An alternative to avoid data corruption is to test not in windows. Try UBCD v5.0b12 iso boot to it and run Prime95 and memtest from it. Once stable then boot to windows and test again beware slight voltage increases may be needed for windows depending on how you tweaked your voltages. If you are an "Auto" man get away from it and hard set things in bios.

i tried memtest86+ few times but it always froze during the 50% of the first loop. i checked the temperatures and they were below 60. (i watercool the northbridge,cpu and RAM) i could not check the RAM temperature because of the water block. it is a Koolance block so i don't think the Ram are overheating. If you think i have a problem with the RAM i am thinking of buying OCZ3N1800SR4GK . they are 150$ in Amazon and they are SLI Ready. do you think they would work stable on this board?

I have the same ram at 1800MHz also. This option is vicious, at 1800MHz of ram you might have corruptions which windows corrects for you. The erros are detectable in memtest86+ (10+ loops), note that it needs more vNB rather than vDimm.

I know these settings are quite relaxed for your taste (from what I can tell) but if you want 100% stability, the settings above are tested for 22 loops memtest86+ and 24h prime95 blend. Been playing lots of games, much encoding for a month now and no corruptions whatsoever.

Your on the max vtt 1.4 anymore you risk frying you cpu, and why do u disable p1 p2 that totally kills the performance, bandwidth.
Do you really need a 50 trc for 2000, im running a 40 trc, at 2040mgz linked n synced, no p1 p2 high trc, kiss performance goodbye, just my opinion. I can pass memtest 1000 times with trc of 40, p1 p2 enabled, no data corruption at all.
VTT can go higher without any issues, oc 45nm cpus quite some times. Overclocked a qx9650 with 1.44vCore and VTT, lapped at 4.5GHz and he's been running it for a year now, no issues, yet.
Yeah but you are running 2x1GB dimms, 2x2GB is another story. More density = much harder to stable. Besides, i would say quality weights to crucial compared to ocz, they clock a bit better.
These timings are loosened for 2GB (2x1GB) I know. But trust me they are ok for 4GB. P1 and P2 disabled for the same reason, though if I had 2x1GB dimms I would enable them, tight timigs more along with 1T command rate.
Just from what i have read higher than 1.4 vtt not good. Plenty of people with this board with 4 gigs of ram linked n synced with p1 p2 enabled, check your everest bandwidth with p1 p2 on auto, no bandwidth at all, have to have p1 p2 enabled. Yes 4 gigs 2x2 is harder, guys here have 8 gigs linked n synced at 1800mgz with p1 p2 enabled, so no problem to do.
With proper cooling I might add. I must agree you get performance but does it worth corruption?
I can run 2080MHz with 9-9-9-30-2T tRC: 50, tRFC: 110 with 1.95v auto P1 & P2. I even get corruption at 1600 MHz with P1 and P2. Once a week I got game crash, or corrupted file on a flash memory etc. Small things, nothing major but still unstable in my opinion.
You see, those settings I gave that guy is for him only, he can follow them or ignore them. I know this, they should be disabled while overclocking, once you find a stable clock you can enable them unless corruption is present.
Ok, i never get corruption, data corruption only comes from trying to overclock your memory to far, i have no corruption at all, i can run 2090mgz 8-7-6-21 1t, with 0 corruption. To me you have to enable p1 p2, you just lose way to much performance when is on auto, your a smart guy, im sure you can get p1 p2 to work, your the only one i know having corruption, and what bios you running ?

well not sure, but i went from 1104 to 1202, not sure if thats it, but you could try 1202.

i tried to increase memory voltage and i am stable with prime95 and memtest when i set 1.76 memory and everything on auto at stock 10x multiplier. However when i try to set 1333 fsb with 8x i can't get stable. Maybe it's the CPU's problem, that it doesn't overclock but windows doesn't seem to freezze anymore when i am at stock settings. I ordered the OCZ3N1800SR4GK RAM i mentioned, i will get them in 3-5 days. i want to use 1600 fsb. Which CPU would you recommend for 1600 fsb and do you think it would be possible to use the new RAM with my current Q6700?

Precisely its not on their website. Tried enabling them anyway, now I get failing cores everytime on cores 2 and 4 at 49 minutes with 1.58 to 1.64vNB and adequate vDimm that can run 2080 MHz (1.95v), since system passed 24h blend the only change I did is P1 and P2, motherboard liquid cooled, NB at 55 degrees Celsius on load (1.64v), Corsair dominator on top of ram. Proves once more that they are unstable with my system, anyhow got a list of settings I tried before and these are marked as a failure. But I pass if I disable 2 cores :shrug:
One important thing I forgot to mention, OCZ forums say that its because of quad core systems; they tend to strain the system more.
Do you get undetectable ram on CAS 9 when you link and sync your ram, or is it just 1104?
1202 runs fine in everyway, no issues that i can see. Well your first problem is your using OCZ memory, it has know issues with all 790i boards. Your stable, but enable p1 p2 and fail on certain cores, then its your OCZ bro, read the early part of striker thread, read the evga forums, OCZ major known issues with 790i, i wouldnt run it on this board. Trigger just got his overclock stable 4.0 ghz q9650, 8 gigs of ram 1800mgz linked n synced stable, but its patriot memory, with p1 p2 enabled.
There was an issue with OCZ and s2e but with earlier bios. I believe it was fixed, I was surfing OCZ's forums and people managed P1 and P2 with dual cores. I just might try bios 1202 but the problem is I haven't got a floppy drive or a floppy. The thing is I used to have OCZ DDR3 1600 but turned out they were defective so I RMA'ed them then exchanged them with OCZ DDR3 2000 with 50 pounds more. I thought of getting crucial or patriot but the difference was quite bigger so I skipped.
You can flash the bios on a usb flash driver also, i dont use floppys.

i tried to increase memory voltage and i am stable with prime95 and memtest when i set 1.76 memory and everything on auto at stock 10x multiplier. However when i try to set 1333 fsb with 8x i can't get stable. Maybe it's the CPU's problem, that it doesn't overclock but windows doesn't seem to freezze anymore when i am at stock settings. I ordered the OCZ3N1800SR4GK RAM i mentioned, i will get them in 3-5 days. i want to use 1600 fsb. Which CPU would you recommend for 1600 fsb and do you think it would be possible to use the new RAM with my current Q6700?
Of course mate, OCZ DDR3-1800 will do 1600 with tight timings at stock voltage. If you have proper cooling on cpu and fan flow on top of ram you should be okay. I can help you even with your new ram. Now, you need to decide what cpu speed you want to achieve, with 1600 FSB and 10x multi results to 4GHz, 9x 3.6GHz and 8x 3.2GHz. But from what I understand your CPU doesn't like 8x isn't that right? My cpu goes up to 9x but hates 7x.
neo mike bios 1202 rock. P1 & P2 Enabled, 8-8-8-28-2T, tRC:38, tWR:10, tRFC: 80, 1900MHz at just 1.94v and stable; I've seen a kick in performance too.
ozgunkara with your new OCZ memory it might be best to flash your board to version 1202.
First it took 1202 for me to get QX9650 stable and I might add proper GTLREF voltage adjustments.
If core 1 and 3 ("cores 2 and 4") are failing at 49 min it could be heat related though.
IF not heat you may need to dial in a better GTLREF voltage not sure where you are at in this regard but the rule is if Core 0 or 1 fail increase GTLREF lanes 0 and 2 or if cores 2 or 3 fail raise GTLREF lanes 1 and 3 seeing your issue I'd say all your GTLREF voltages are set wrong. You need to find the high and the low that it will boot to then average them rounding up for a starting point for testing without changing your NB voltage if you change your NB voltages so changes your GTLREF voltage adjustment. So you'll need to test with a static NB voltage and resist bumping it + or - until you find the right GTL setting.

My cpu gtl ref's are fine. From 1.36 to 1.6 VTT it should be +56 +52 +52 +56 for 65nm with this board. They don't work the way you say nor you "find" them, its more like calculate and round them, as simple as that.
On my case though, after upgrading to bios 1202, all I needed was more vNB (1.62v) to run 1900FSB then I passed the 4 hour barrier. After I tighten the timings abit and got failing core again, increased vDimm and tested for 12h, guess what, rock solid stable without even touching gtl refs. With my system, if anything is unstable it crashes/core fails within 49 minutes to 1 hour and 10 mins.

The ram will be fine, but if you decide to overclock it some airflow would do the trick. I have some settings in mind that require better ram cooling, you will still run it at 1800MHz but with tighter timings. With 1800FSB and 9x multi that means that your cpu will be running at 4GHz which will require 1.55v at least.
These settings are quite relaxed and should be stable. Make sure you pass at least 4h prime95 blend then post your results.
EDIT: Would really help if you told me your VID in coretemp, without running any other monitoring/overclocking programs in the background.

CPU init means it needs more voltage. VID is the minimum voltage your cpu needs to run at stock frequencies but most of the times it can go lower than that. VID is reported in the program I mentioned a few posts ago. I am guessing that your cpu is 1.3v VID. My q6600 can do 3.6GHz at 1.42v but its VID is 1.26. Increase cpu voltage along with vVTT (they should be about the same) until you can boot, it will need a bit more than that to pass prime95 small fft's though.

I'm running it at 4050 and ram at 2025 at the moment. Can't go more because I'm already at 1.6vCore. Besides, mine's quad with 8mb cache, it should do better though its an early quad model.
EDIT: I tried 1T, got loads of corruptions but I actually made it through the benchmark before it BSOD on me. Seems like OCZ or 2GB modules are more sensitive to 1T, I managed to do 13,210 MB/s write and 13,002 read.

i tried what you recommended and it mostly got stuck at "en setup". I tried to increase voltage like you mentioned and was able to see the boot screen of windows but i never managed to see my desktop. I guess my Cpu is not good at overclock or I am just bad at it :D.

Starts, set vNB to 1.54, PLL at 1.56, memory at 1.9 and let me know whats your top vCore and vVTT so far. You can try raising vCore and vVTT even more if your temps are fine.

Problem Description
I have a random freeze problem Just when I play games with high-end graphics ( Crysis, ARMA II, etc.).
Sometimes it happens after 10 min of play, other times it happens after 2-3h of play. I also tried to play with low details-medium details but nothing has changed. I've noticed that sometimes after freezing it's possible to hear a continuous sound from speakers. It's not important for me to overclock. So we can try to solve the problem without overclocking. Issues:
Freezing video and looping audio when playing games, and sometimes while surfing the web. I am just trying to get this thing stable at stock, no over clocking and cannot.. I get maybe an hour if lucky of playing before a freeze up. Even just setting the memory timings, bus, and voltage and leaving all else auto still causes it. no issues posting or in memtest..

Hi there, you can start by making sure your NB and ram are not overheating, the NB can still get hot if you don't change its paste to ceramic at least.
Follow these steps:
Increase mem voltage to 1.56v and NB to 1.48v. If that doesn't work then try increasing them even more but but i don't recommend exceeding 1.62v on mem and 1.54v on vNB for 1333 FSB and no OC.
If the problem persists then set P1 & P2 to disabled and Command Rate (CMD) to 2T, at this point you can decrease mem and NB voltages.
NB only appears to be running at max 60c (that is the MCP reading?) as for ram, it is rated at 1333 and i have a high cmf fan right on it. Also the sticker does say 1.6v and I am running it at bios setting 1.54, or 1.6v actual from the hardware monitor.
How can i see the ram tempeture? as well, the spd on the ram has all 1.5v settings, but even setting the bios to 1.5, the actual is like 1.58v minimum....

Your ram temp should be fine with airflow but if you want to check anyway, use your finger but with the back skin (near your nail which is more sensitive to temperature) and if you can hold it there for 10 seconds while on load then it should be fine.
Isn't that the max your mem voltage goes? We need the average values which in my experience is -/+ 0.02v-0.03v from what your set in bios. The problem with the ram is that you need to compensate for voltage loss that happens no matter what and on load it decreases even more.
I think i just need a new board, this one is just highly unstable.. Just changing the few settings that I showed in my bios, it still locks. I have now set the cpu on auto, hovering around 1.32v in the voltage monitor. Some people said that they set the same memory i have at 9-9-9-27 at 1.8v and that fixed there issue. I ran it at that and the thing ran for 2 hours before crash, and now it is back to 10 to 35 mins max before freez.
I ran memtest for 6 hours no issue with the NB setting you gave me and the above mem settings. I looped 3dmark06 advanced for 4 hours just on vid and cpu tests and no crashes. I then play a game and bam, it will crash consistently. I have never had this problem before. First system ever that has done this to me.
Any suggestions on a nice board to replace this one?
It could still be setting related or perhaps you need a newer bios version or both. You could tell me the exact settings you tried stating which are auto. But if you still want to get rid of this board I would go for msi x48 or p45 ddr3 mb.

I did not get a single crash with theses settings during the 2 hours or so i played WoW and Counter Strike. However I am getting weird popping on my sound card Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer, especially when using voice chat. I am also seeing stages in the game where is wants to freeze, like momentary suturing here and there but it kept recovering. I am also occasionaly seeing a usb error that blue screens some times, or say when i go into the bios the keyboard won't work.
So I am still not sure..

Hm, you are either closer to stable or lucky. Try to lower mem voltage to 1.65v actual average and vNB to 1.5v actual.
DDR3 is quite sensitive to voltage. Even with adequate cooling, modules can still get damaged.
Memtest is not enough, once you can prime95 blend for 8 hours then you can say that you are stable.
Also set all your Spread Spectrums to disabled; it might help. Note that you can enable Enhanced Intel SpeedStep(tm) Tech since you are on stock cpu frequency.
Sorry I forgot that on P1&P2 the only options available are those.

I will try your suggestions and see what happens. However I initially have the mem set at 1.6v (1.68 measured) with NB set on auto and the thing still got the crashes every 35 minutes..
The thing for me is that I was just trying to get this thing running stock for a few weeks before i started over clocking. I assumed that out of the box with just setting the mem frequency and the 9-9-9-24 at 1.6v (sticker), that the box would do this, so all the rest of this stuff is new to me. On all my other Asus boards, i was able to run stock out of the box no issues, then play from their by reading boards. The thing that is really getting to me is the soundblaster issues, which in my mind is some kind of board issue, but maybe its my NB or SB voltage?
So needless to say i am a bit confused.. I am thinking about going and picking up a set of crucial balisiex 1333 or 1600 memory and seeing if my memory is just already blown. Any suggestions on setting for clearing the cmos and adding this new memory as a start? any recommendations on which mem to get? Also is there a way to find the default recommended vcore for a cpu? my Q9660 is default auto to 1.32v average, but i see people clocking Q9770 to 4Ghz with a vcore of 1.29V... I am wondering if the system is just pumping to much voltage for the stock settings..
I eventually want to run my Q9650 at 3.6Ghz to maybe 3.8 or 4GHz...

Are you having issues with Supreme FX too? The popping could be from improper grounding, power surges etc. It can be fixed with power surge protector i'm guessing.
You could try another set of sticks at 1333 or more (but keeping speed at 1333 with your FSB), everything at stock and more than stock voltage then prime95 blending again.
There's a button on AS2E which resets CMOS, it works better than taking the small battery out. To reset cmos there's instructions on the MB manual.
I had in mind that corsair works better with this board, I experienced similar issues with OCZ. You should decide first whats your overclocking goal, in my opinion you need more memory speed than your FSB (1:2). For instance, if your goal is 4GHz with 9x multi which is 1777FSB then you need your ram to run at least 1800MHz which I think will need more than stock voltage to run (with a quad core, with this board, with OCZ and with 2x2GB modules).
You can find what is your cpu's VID from CoreTemp. VID is the voltage your CPU needs at full load to operate, theoretically that is; but I have seen cpus running at VID then dropping even more on load, sustaining operation. To be sure you won't have any problems set your vCore to whatever your cpu's VID (actual) + 0.04v-0.05v which this board drops on full load without LLC (=Loadline Calibration).
By the way, there is no Q9770 there's only qx9770 that has unlocked multiplier which is a different story, it is better if you get your examples from cpu's of the same model and even better with the same stepping and VID.
Thanks once again.. After days of reading, and your advice I am starting to get a good feel for what i need to do to get this board stable. I have downloaded prime95 and will make the changes and test with my current configuration. I see from alot of boards that Vtt has a major affect on this board. i will start base, test and make one change at a time.
The grounding issue you mention is something i am going to look at, and might be the base of the whole issue, thanks for that tip. My ABS 1300w actually has a grounding cable, it would not even turn on until it screwed it to my case. But my case is all aluminum and i wonder if that is causing grounding issues. The plate that my mobo sits on is actually metal and I think i will ground the power supply to the plate bracket instead of the chassis. I actually screwed it to the chasis with a screw that holds my cdrom in place, maybe this is not right.

If your tower turns on then its properly grounded, your problem is probably power surges. A friend of mine had popping sounds issue every day from the his on-board sound card which I found 2 solutions for it. The one I mentioned before which can easily be fixed with the surge protector (I noticed that the popping sound came when the air condition unit changed modes/fan speeds) and the other by getting an amplifier (i actually got that by installing my logitech z-5300 sound system that has an amplifier on its sub woofer which eliminated the problem without the power surge protector).
Sorry to disappoint you but I found no instabilities with my friend's pc at the time he had the issue.

So I checked the ground and it was not making great contact, i moved it to the plate, played some CSS and alot of the background hum and pop was gone, but not perfect... I then went to play some WoW, got in our 25 man ulduar raid and with in 3 minutes when the action started, bam.. Major crash. I wanted to break the thing.
I went back into the bios and made some changes:
Vdimm=1.54 volts (1.6 measured, this was my orignal setting, memtest pass, but still had crashes)
Vcore=1.35 volts (1.36 measured, intel says this is max for this chip?)
Vtt=1.30 volts (1.32 measured, was auto at 1.12v)
NB=1.40
SB=1.50
disabled the spread spectrum. One thing to note, is before i changed the ground, Vcore at 1.24 volts (bois setting) actually measured 1.32Volts actual. This time the bios setting actually measured super close. I ran prime95 11+ hours not a single crash.. Ran a 25 man raid last night and not a single crash..
I suspect like many others have noted ,is that Vtt is extremly important on this board, especially for quad cores and the auto setting is just not right at all, at least for my board. My guess at this point is that I could drop the Vcore a bit lower to get the temps down, so going to test that. At 1.36Volts, the temps never got above 55c and pretty much just hovered around 50c on all 4 cores, MCP at around 58c average.
Try following my previous posts, I only mention changing vCore because this board overvolts the cpu even on stock (follow VID hint). You can leave vtt on auto if you pass small fft's for at least 4h.
If you are having trouble with vcore just leave it to auto for the time being. Remember to increase your NB votlage to 1.48 (1.5v actual) for now then try prime95 blend, if it crashes then increase vdimm until you pass 8h.

The usual lockups and freezes. It does not happen at a consistent rate, someties I run the machine for days with no trouble, other times it freezes / autoreboots 5 times a day. I browse the web most of the time and thats when it hits me. For games they do lockup / freeze as well but depends on the game. Because i have been reading a lot you can see that I have already upped my NB and SB voltages. I have also used CPU-Z to get readings for my RAM memory tables (the damn thing does not have anything online) and I have set those manual accordingly (1.5v, then speeds as shown above).
Recently I have changed CMD to 2T instead of 1T and that seemed to have stabilized the machine a bit more. I've been using it for a couple of days now with only 1 autoreboot incident (while browsing).
Please Help guys. I have gone through the 24 pages of this forum hoping to find a similar setup but with no luck. Apparently I made a wrong choice of RAM (recommended to me by the dumbass who sold me the board - compatibility claim).

Your ram timings seem a bit off and some voltages need adjustment. Your ram is CL9 by the way, I don't think there's a problem with your ram, this board doesn't like a lot of ram dimms. Try these changes then prime95 blend for 8 hours:

Thanks a lot for the response mate. I will try these as soon as I go back home in about 4 hours. For my RAM settings, when its in auto mode on BIOS it picks up 8-8-8-24, you sure it is CL9?
I know they seem a bit off, but thats the timings table readings I got from CPU-Z, I was desperate you know and hence tried them. Funny enough is yesterday I installed Everest Ultimate; it detected my RAM as Eudra and not TWINMOS, and gave me complete different timings (again 8-8-8-24). All them software read my memory as 5, 6, 7 and 8 none listed 9.
Anyway if this works tonight, I am so buying you a gift :) Will update you.

One more thing, if it crashes/freezes again then check your NB temp asap then run memtest86+ for 10-12 loops.
Thanks Cibic, I did check that page but thought since the board is autodetecting at 8 then I should keep it so - dumb I know.
Anyway I've done the changes, machine looks fine so far, prime98 has been running for 1h15m so far and I am doing other things in the background. Will let you know in 7 hours ;)
Btw, I am on Vista64, Prime95 (64bit) has differnet testing modes, could not find "blend" so I ran the option which seemed would test everything with 4 workers of course.

Your NB temp is quite high. Try to keep it under 65, bare in mind that it gets even hotter on full load and by the time it takes to get into bios and monitor the voltage it cools down a bit. Lower NB voltage to 1.44 and monitor temp in windows while on blend with HWMonitor http://www.cpuid.com/download/hwmoni...itor64_114.zip

Done that, I am still getting random auto-reboots.
It might be worth mentioning that I no longer have freezes though, only auto-reboots.
I am dying to find out what is causing these. I read some extreme articles on the web which suggests that i could be a wireless keyboard/mouse combo or even the "enable write behind caching" option for the RAID. It seemed a bit wierd though.
Any thoughts?

Try disabling Loadline Calibration. I had random restarts with Loadline Calibration Enabled. You might have to increase some voltages to compensate though, but you should be fine.

The machine is much more stable now with Cibic's guidance (thanks mate), but the auto restarts problem still bugs me like hell.

Yep random. Happens mostly while I am browsing. I have all different browsers and it happens with all: IE8, Chrome, FF3 and Safari3. So it is not browser related.
For example, it is almost guaranteed to reboot if i keep scrolling up and down for a while on this page:

Disable automatic restart on system failure and let me know the error code when it occurs again. With your current settings, what kind of torture testing have you done so far and for how long?

Machine just auto-rebooted again, no error messages or blue screen despite that the auto reboot on failure option is disabled.
One more insight I have noticed: I leave my machine on 24/7. Not a single once in the 7 months I had it it rebooted or froze while I was away. It only happens while I am using it. Even when I stream content (I have divx connected, the device just streams but it uses the machine's CPU and VGA card to process the media) it never happened. It has to be me physically using it.

CPU-Z reads it swinging between 1.280v and 1.296v
When I followed CIBIC's settings it was at around 1.25
It is set to Auto on BIOS btw.
I have most of the CPU stuff disabled following Benchwarmer settings. These specifically: (internal thermal control, limit CPUID maxval, C1E, speedstep).
What do you think?
Maybe is spiking. The anandtech article about loadline calibration explained that even when loadline calibration gives more voltage than usual, it also spikes (down) for short periods of time. That was the cause of my problems some time ago.
Leave it on auto as it might work as necessary there.
