Going to put in my PC in abit on air. Then water later on tonight when I get my PC back on the floor as my case is going off on wednesday to get powdercoated white inside and a custom laser cut window. :)
Booted up at 3ghz. With 1.4V on air. Very nice. :)

Here is 3.4Ghz with 1.42V
I will go higer later on tonight when I have my PC on the floor and my watercooling set up again.

Seems like a lot of volts just to do 3.0g. The 2 Quad B3's I tested did 3.0g on Abit IP35 1.24v real.
http://www.abit-wolves.com/members/T...3220x9x334.jpg
I'm running 24/7 at 3GHz with the default volts. I suspect I could even undervolt it and be able to run it stable. The G0's might not have increased the headroom that much, but it made for a lot more legspace for low level overclocks.
It's your CPU, but personally I wouldn't crank up the voltage till it was needed. No since in getting it use to
a lot of voltage, to my thinking it might get to liking it & need that kind of voltage all the time just to run 3.0g/3.3g stable.
I did have to crank up the voltage at 3.2 but only to 1.35v (real). This was on air with a cheap heatpipe cooler, room temp 26c/79F.
damn you baron cause of you other don't have chance to get G0.
clubit sold out too....
trend4pc in germany have G0 in stock
alo everyone
just received my G0 today, Batch L726A951 tray version.
so far it has pass prime95 at 3600ghz - 1,43v load and 1,44v idle on a P5K-E and 4x1GB TG Elite.
load

idle
http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/160...idlenq7.th.jpg
also was trying to see if the cpu does the 4,0ghz and voila :yepp:

i think that it has more potencial, need to do more tests soon :)

TheWolf,
How do you set up Orthos to test all 4 cores? I tried running 2 Orthos but it still doesn't test all 4 cores
thanks icon57 :)
to run booth ORTHOS you need to open the task manager, go to "Processes" task and right click on the program (in this case the two instances of orthos) and click "set affinity", then it will show the 4 cores and just need to choose two cores for each instance.
otherwise for me at this point Prime95 and OCCT are better for test because it only need one instance to run the 4 cores.
no on AIR, Notcua NF-U12F + NF-S12-1200 ambient temp is a little high because the office dosen´t have any ventilation or windows.
the batch of the cpu is the same as the moderator Pedro Rocha ha posted in a this thread a few pages ago, he has better results but i´ll try to do more tests soon.
thanks
congrat's ! did you test the max fsb ?
A little off the subject but I noticed in your screenshot that the PCI link width is at 1x, is this a problem like on the P5B DLX? I sure hope not because I was thinking of getting this same board when my Q6600 G0 comes in but I really don't want the nightmares like that found on the P5B DLX.
ok after lurking in this thread for a bit, I have a few questions before I start o/cing my Q6660....
1) What's the difference between vid and cpu voltage? I thought these were the same?
2) What's VDROOP?
3) What program tells the 'real' voltage/vid?
4) What's the stock voltage for a G0 Q6600?
thanks!
-VID is the stock vcore.
-Vdroop is the drop in vcore between idle and load whereas Vdrop is the drop in vcore between what you have set in BIOS and what you are actually getting.
-Software is notoriously inaccurate for reading vcore. The latest version of CPUz seems to be descent though. But the best way to find out is to take a digital multimeter and measure vcore directly on the MB.
-stock vcore for G0 is the VID value you see listed on coretemp, it varies from chip to chip.
3.2 stable, 71C load on an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro, 1.37v
Prime,Coretemp,CPU-Z:
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/4...1372qy8.th.jpg
Super Pi 1M: 13 seconds @ 3.4ghz, 14 seconds @ 3.2ghz
http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/9257/3402137xr0.th.jpg
humm well pointed but it should be a bug because i have already run 3dmarks and plays some games and so far the performence is normal, if it was at 1x the FPS´s would be very low but later on i´ll investigate to see what´s the problem
Ashley today i´ll test max FSB and with alot oh hope to get 8x500  :p: lets see how far the cpu goes, also try to run 3dmark06 and cinebench at 4,0ghz like Pedro Rocha did :)
regards
Hey, I'm new here, nice forum you have. Anyway, I just got the first of my G0 Q6600s up and running. I'm just Priming at 2.7GHz right now with a Tuniq Tower 120, the chip appears to be substantially cooler running than my old B2 E6700.
It's FPO/Batch is L723A825 and has a VID of 1.2375. I also have a L724A760 still in the box that I haven't played with yet. I'll probably have both of them tested under air and water by late Friday or early Saturday morning if all goes well.
Nater, surely you can go higher than 2.7 on your chip? Most G0's are hitting 3.6 at about 1.4v...
first of all, you need to tell all of us what are your system specs (detailed)...go to your user control panel and spell them out so everytime you post we can see what you have...when you do that, i and others can possibly help you diagnose the problem.
if you are getting 66C from full load priming, i would say that is a good temp...is that read out from coretemp or Uguru?...if it is Uguru, then i would say it is a bit high but you need post the voltages that you are currently using.
You can use Ctrl+PrintScrn keys to capture or get Printkey2000 is a nice freeware with many other things added in, like resize pic. or only copy part of a sceen. The rectangle feature is really nice were you can capture small parts or big parts of a screen like the pics below..
or...you can use "alt & Print Scrn" to capture only the highlighted image or program on your screen.
thanks for the link for the freebie...i use snagit but i will give it a try.
EDIT:...oh yeah, you open MS Paint to paste that capture...in that program you can save in several different formats, but JPEG is the best format to use.
well if its of any help to u guys :)
Rig as per siggy, refuse to prime high as i dont wan my chip eating more n more volts as time goes by.
http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/4...lelargeco9.jpg
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/4...hzlargeup9.jpg
and she does 3dmark06 at 4.1ghz! and its not the max yet!
http://img473.imageshack.us/img473/8...61largejt1.jpg
water cooling but still very nice overclock!
what is the actual vcore you are using for the 4.1 ghz overclock.
haha yea water.. ambients here sky high did i mention? 30 degrees cel... 24 lowest. and thats way in the middle of the night.
actual vcore for tt was around 1.62 to 1.65V. she could do more. but i'm waiting for my ultra to get back to me :)
well i dont know whey everyone is telling u ctrl+printsc. this is how i do it, whatever u want to capture just hit the print sc button, and go to microsoft paint and make sure u click on the white screen and than hit ctrl+v, and save it as jpeg, no need to convert it down and no need for any software. this is how i do all the time and imageshack works like a charm, just make sure u save them as jpeg.
does anyone else gets an over voltage msg @ POST when using vcore higher than 1.6125?
Sounds like the max vcore limit needs to be raised in the bios.
alo again
today i´have tested the max FSB stable and the result was 486:
8x486FSB @ 3888ghz + Asus P5K + 4x1gb TG Elite ddr970
http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/5...xfsbmq3.th.jpg
for a 180€ board i think that is not a bad result :)

hi guys
i bought one q6600 G0 today , i will receive it tomorow , anyone with a DFI dark 965 and Q6600???
btw: great results jpcastro
me, but i am having weird issues with my system.. not sure if it is software or hardware related yet. swapped out a E4300 to a Q6600 (G0) using existing acronis true images of an almost initial vista install. It installed the cpu drivers, ect... but for whatever reason i get random mem dumps (see memory issues in vista now after swapping in quad core).. even after priming stablily (i think i just made up that word :P) for 8+ hours. will try fresh install i guess.
29c ambient. 450x8 w/ 1.34vcore About 5 hours of Prime. As I mentioned earlier, I'm able to do 480x7 w/ 1.28vcore. 4Ghz is hit and miss but this mobo has so many tweaks that I'm still learning. I think 480FSB is the limit for this CPU.
http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/9...00g0sl1.th.png
Some CPU Power @ 3.85Ghz
http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/7...ndrazv2.th.png
Thanks, Ace-A-Rue,
I had updated my Signature. I still can't get a stable system, failed both Orthos and Prime95 at as low as stock 2400GHz. I tried 3600 GHz and it worked easily but just not stable so I know the chip has plenty of potential as long as I set it up correctly. Idle temp is also high @ 39-49C idle by core temp. I must be doing something wrong in the BIOS. Please let me know what your settings are in the BIOS.
I am just shooting in the dark setting it up blindly with only CPU V and DDR2 V. The rest I left auto
CPU Voltage 1.375
DDR2 2.1
I am thinking of reinstalling WInfdows again then reset the BIOS and start from there.
well i know the cpu was stable at 3.2ghz, cause i primed it for 8+ hours with no issues.. until i starting clicking stuff with my mouse and scrolling web pages - then i get random mem dumps (can't super pi at 8M or above - so my memory is unstable for whatever reasons. passes memtest in dos, all tests, 2+ loops.. so i will start with a fresh opsys install soon as i get a chance)
i've booted into vista at 3.6hz.. but fails prime right away.
max fsb - i've never been able to get over 400mhz, but that was with my e4300 which seemed to hit a wall at 3.2ghz.. and i've never been able to run my memory at it's rated speed yet.. only 800mhz.. so lets just say i have a lot of playing around to do.. or possibly buying a new motherboard.
with only 3.3GHZ(1.4V) im getting 70c(coretemp) full load(prime) on all cores
with my water setup, does it really run that hot?
D-tek Fuzion/Thermochill PA120.3/MCP355+Petra Top
well i got a L723A795, and i havn't gotten it yet, i had my friend buy it for me cuz he has a paypal account, i had him tell me the fpo batch number, and he is going to ship it to me tommorrow. does anyone know how those overclock, i will update when i get it. thanks
1st of all..take 2g's of memory out temporarily...the system is more stable with only 2g's while troubleshooting
2nd, replace the arctic freezer pro 7 heatsink...it is an inferior heatsink for the Q6600...at a minimum go with the enzotech Ultra or Ultra Xtreme
Ok I have my GO stable and fully tested and my max OC is 3.52Ghz at 1.46v, but I am running 3.4Ghz at 1.4v, 1.36c real for 24/7, temps idle around 38c and 56-58c stressed with Prime 95.
I can bench at 3.6 to 3.8ghz but core 1 starts failing Prime 95 at 3.6 which sucks, this could have been an awesome chip but 3.4Ghz isnt bad for 24/7 at 1.4v so I am happy with it.
L724A760
Vid 1.2525
Mine is under watercooling too,
D-Tek FuZion/BlackIce GTX extreme 240/D5
but running cool at 3.6G @ 1.36V, air-conditioned inside my bedroom, it is at about 4X-50deg.C by coretemp during prime95. Even prime95 at 4GHz @ 1.62V, never reach to 70C.
http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/6...224620auc5.jpg
seems some G0 Q6600 are hot, but some are not, just like the E6600.
PS: My Q6600 VID=1.2875V
No OC as of yet since I'm installing all the windows updates, but stock load temps are around 35C with 21C ambient.
It seems my motherboard doesn't like going above a 316MHz FSB. Not sure why quite yet, I had to finally get some sleep this afternoon and didn't have time to play. The reason that makes me suspect the motherboard is that neither chip apparently will go over 316MHz, regardless of multiplier. I've tried voltages:
VCore - up to 1.425
NB - up to 1.45
SB - up to 1.65
1.2v HT - up to 1.40
VTT - up to 1.45
The ram sits at 2.0v since I'm only running it at DDR2-800 for now.
Hardware:
ASUS P5N32-E SLI w/ 1201 BIOS
GeIL Ultra DDR2-1066
EVGA 7900GTX
Antec 550W PSU
I'm doing all this on my test bench. I never have been much of a fan of this Antec PSU, one of the 12V rails is pretty out of spec if you trust the BIOS monitoring (11.6v). I'd test it with my Fluke, but someone stole it.
EDIT. It seems an old problem I had with the P5N32-E back with the shipping BIOS (0308?) has cropped back up. If you set the SB and 1.2v HT voltages too high, or even at their reference values, it won't POST upon a restart. It will after a shutdown and reboot. Maybe not enough juice on the +5VSB rail?
I got a L724A760 and plan on putting it in my DFI Dark. I have seen another user so far with the same combo(not same batch) and his max was 3.2ghz. I'm not sure whether i should leave it in the box or not. I'm gonna hold off till the weekend before i put it in. I want to see more results of the same batch code.
yep, i went up to like 1.48 volts to see if it stabilized.. no good. i didn't really bother to monitore temps, just used coretemp and used the mode where it goes down the the throttling point.. i was like 10° from 0 (the throttle point).
i really need to get my system stable at stock speeds first.. cause something is weird with it.
Let's see how this goes :D
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/1463/quadut1.jpg
I have been messing with 24/7 overclock on my G0 and looks like 3.6Ghz is Prime stable at 1.36Vcore real.
Loving the G0 so far :D
Got my Q6600 "G0" Batch #: L721A814.
First off, DON'T UPGRADE TO BIOS 501 BETA! I was able to hit 400*9 on the bios that came with the board, 202. After the bios update it just kept on crashing.
I went back to 404 update, and hit 400*9, but it wasn't stable enough to do anything. I'm currently at 450*8, about to run prime, see how stress stable it it, but it's perfectly capable of basic tasks right now.
http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/5...0x8idlekw3.jpg
This is on a P5K Deluxe Wi-fi AP, with 2 x 1GB crucial ballistix, Tuniq tower cpu cooler, and a NZXT zero case with 8 case fans, and an 8800gts 640.
It's not stable in the least at that. I'll have to tweak some more. I'm just at 450*7 for the night, and it works great. priming for 5 minutes so far, i'll leave it all night.

I got my g0 on his way, with L726A951, any one got this batch or week? If so any results? I saw just 1 from Pedro rocha, 4.1ghz with 1.58vcore so far, but unfortunately i wont using such high volts for 24/7 on air, so more like I want to know how much volts they need for 3.6-3.8 range ( or higher with moderate volts).
Anyone keeping close tabs on how the various week are doing so far?
I'm seeing a lot of great numbers from the L723As and L726As; I'm hearing depressing things from the LxxxBs; and I have seen very little numbers from L724As, and although I don't have a statistically relevant sampling 3.6 looks like about it from the L721As; anyone have some good numbers on this?
Thanks,
Adam
Mine is a L723A765 - does 3600 @1.42v
looks like 3.4GHz is what i'm gonna use for now
Here's my data so far:
L724A760
VID = 1.2875V
3.2GHz w/ +50mV - 8 hrs stable
3.3GHz w/ +62.5mv - 2 hrs prime stable.
3.4Ghz w/ +125mv - 8 hrs stable - 35° idle, 70° load 8 hrs
3.5GHz w/ +175mV - 6 mins prime crash... temps 75°-80°
3.5GHz w/ +200mV - 5 mins prime stable, no crash... temps ran away so i shut down (~90°C)
3.6 w/+200mV - 1 core fails prime 1-2mins in... i don't think i'll be going past 3.6 or +200mV unless i get better cooling.
*everything but 3.2 was just a quick test.. i'll revisit each speed and step up volts in smaller increments maybe get lower temps, for example 3.5GHz*
(temporarily solved my memory issues by pulling one stick... will look into that soon as i find my max usable cpu speed)
You have the same motherboard and exact same batch code on your q6600 as i do. Which bios are you using? Have you tinkered with DQ Calibration at all? It's my understanding that tweaking that setting can be beneficial for quad core overclocking. Glad to see you getting 3.2ghz stable at near stock volts. I would like to get 3.4 to 3.6 on modest volts though as i'm using air.
I've honestly had no luck messing with any mem settings. I've played around for a little bit in the past. I've tried settings other people used with the same memory sticks and board, and have never had any progress. All my mem settings are optimized defaults. I may have a bad stick or something, or they just don't like my components. But I never had an issue using both sticks on w/ my E4300 @800Mhz, just my Q6600 (needed to pull one for memory stability).
my bios is 2007/06/13, beta, first one to address usb issues.
man! getting a quadcore is tempting...
i'm surprised to see SOOO many different batches so quickly...
was it like this when conroe was originally released? i didn't join the party until week 27/28's were starting to be available retail
Still priming. 3.2ghz @ 1.31v :D I realize it's not nearly considered stable yet. Air cooled with Scythe Infinity(aka Mugen). So far so good.

Got mine late yesterday - and had to go out last night, so no major testing yet but I did get it started and up to speed late last night.
Q6600 L723A890 from Club-IT.
System is basically whats in my sig.
Vid = 1.3125v
Current Speed: 9 x 445 (4005mhz) at 1.45v Bios (1.43v real)
Stock Vapo cooling for the moment.
Don't know anything about stability yet (no time and now I'm at work) but I had no problems with the basics.
