Had to do a slight Vcore bump for 9+ hour stability, but tightened the RAM and also now have it running in "extreme" performance mode, whatever that means.

I'll have to work on the mem some. When I ran the stress, I had mem unlinked and was running 1:1 ratio. This ram should get 900mhz at 1T timmings with no problem. Since I took this pic, I have Lapped both the Tuniq and the CPU. I may try to go a little higher on the OC sometime latter.

Kenofstephen, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the OC is not 3,710 Mhz. It's true that Orthos is reporting that number, but Orthos isn't taking into account that your multiplier is now set to 6 rather than 9. Your actual OC is what's reported by CPU-Z. In this case, it's 2,472(6 x 412) Mhz. What you have is a good FSB overclock, and it's definitely something to be proud of.
As for Core Temp Beta....that's just confusing. Probably why they referred to it as "Beta."
I think his 3,710 was correct. I'm a little new to this, but it looks to me like his computer is still set to shift to a lower multiplier to conserve energy when it's not required to run balls to the wall. His Ortho is idle and multiplier is at 6 reading 2.473. If you add another 50% (shifting the multiplier from 6 to 9 for a full load), then you end up at the 3,710 mark. I have not disabled that feature in BIOS yet either so I see it often.
You know what? I think you're absolutely right! :D
Thanks for correcting me on that. I have that feature disabled in bios, so I've never seen that before. The reason that I thought the readings were off is because I have my FSB set to 1.6ghz and my multiplier is 8 instead of 9. So, CPU-Z will report 3.2ghz while Orthos is reporting 3.6ghz.
Kenofstephen, I apologize for misinterpreting your screenie, and I want to congratulate you on having an excellent overclock. Good job!

Wow...someone said I was write (ok, I meant right, but that was how I originally typed it...i'm leaving it, that's just funny!) and it's in print even! Where's the screenshot button at?
I have not turned off that feature yet, and I'm not sure I will. I usually leave my computer turned on so the power saver may be a good option. Besides a command or two when your computer is idle, or while fully active, how much of a difference does it really make? Does it improve performance enough to really make it worth running full speed 24/7? Either i'm not being as anal about every clock cycle as others are, or I'm missing something obvious?!?
Screw it...if all else fails, i'll just sit here staring at my avatar again. That's always a good passtime.

I have the EIST on as it doesn't interfere with my OC'ing. Now 3.7GHz with EIST on and works like charm (atleast 1h 30m Orthos...) :)
3.7GHz was wishful thinking :( Error in Orthos after 3h or so, more voltage doesn't help either. At 3.6GHz and Orthos load the vcore is 1,48v.

so far i've orthosed a little over 4 and a half hours on my e6700 on stock cooling at 350x9 1.3v 266/667 strap no failures. went 333/667 strap and doing 1:1 orthosing right now. going to see if it passes at 8 hours (while im at work :D ) and if it does, im backing down the vcore to see if im still stable. load ~60C
passed over 10 hours of orthos @ 350x9 1.2875v 333/667 for 1:1.
It seems obvious to me that posting in this this thread anymore is a complete waste of time. It is'nt being updated and grimreaper is not replying to pm's to do so. So why is this still a sticky ?
I think there's no harm to share all the overclocking results since it's still the current family of Intel's CPU :)
Been out of touch lately but here are my results

hi all
sorry for this little off-topic but im a bug in my orthos or Sp2004
"Cpu Speed" show the speed in the BIOS and not the true Speed CPU (more hight) that I modified under OS by SetFSB or even Clockgen
Where is the Problem ??
MOBO Asus P35 P5KC
OS XP moded or Server 2003 moded
Regards
bruno
A lot of high clocks in the database
Very encouraging. I just got an E6300 for $40 to replace a Pentium D 935. Would like to see it hit 100% OC. Planning on running it at least 2.6 24/7 on air on the backup/family rig. A few final runs with the old D before it's retired and I'm all over it. :D
PS
My best run on the E6750 is in my sig. My RAM is holding me back:brick:
I don't know why but orthos keeps crashing, but D2OL is running with out any problem now for 6 days 24/7,why o why,is orthos so bad.
My E6600 is running at 4.0ghz (9x445) @ 1:1 @ 1.450v on water link,i think thats not that bad:p: .

this thread is made of awesome. i've always been hesitant to take my e6600 past 3.4ghz, but seeing some of these results, i should shoot for 3.6 and see how it goes.
