I've just placed my order via phone for the E6600 at TD. They have already taken the money out of my account too
I cant wait
o yea and the guy told me that the only reason they put 7-10 days up on site is to be on the safe side but they will actually be in on Saturday
If your serious about getting your chip then Call them, dont wait for the availability on the site to change
TigerDirect Phone # : 800-800-8300
topic ....
i called many stores around me ... they all said aug 7th ...

Looks like i'm waiting, this is :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing stupid. I want a 6700 for under 600$ ><
Muahhahahhhha. My ZZF order has shipped too! :woot:
But the scheduled delivery date is my anniversary 7/31. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Sex is good, but come on this is Conroe!
I should have ordered from "Bendoverl33tronics.com" or maybe "www.Ineverheardofyoura$$.com", I could have had mine since late last month or the fourth of this month. Well, at least according to user "Deeznutz" that registered around that time and has two posts. :p:
hahah!

I called ldlc.com today (my french provider) because availability for the product was still 5 to 30 days.
the rep told me that they should receive the processor (E6600 retail)next week and my order could be processed then, after a little talking she told me (i guess i have a nice voice :D ) that she had 31st july as a day for the product to be in stock...
crossing fingers !
I dunno should I try calling TD and seeing whether I can get the e6600 ordered and shipped early? I guess the OEM chip would be fine as long as it works and someone could reccomend a good cooler for my giga ds3 board in nzxt lexa case.
I guess I wouldn't mind paying the lil extra bit for just OEM as long as I get the chip early next week...and than can get a nicer cooler aftermarket and such. What cooler is reasonably priced and easy to setup for LGA775? This is my first build.
Dittos. Aug 7th is a tad over 1 week away.Quote:

UPS just stopped with TigerDirect order of C2D. Seems to be an ok deal and shipping was fast enough. Paid about 40$ to get it a week early not a biggie, when things are all relative.

There have been some X6800s released and some 6300s from what I've seen but the rest (6400, 6600, 6700s) are to be wide-spread available in the early August scene (4th-7th)
I just received a Fedex tracking number from ZipZoomFly. My CPU was picked up according to them early yesterday and is in transit.
Yes it's just an E6300. I thought about it and am going for the E6700 for the 10x multi, so this is going to be sold. Good thing I didn't break the seal.Quote:

Back on topic, here at work we just ordered two dell conroe based systems. I think we got the E6600 on both. Too bad I can't overclock them....damn the government and its dell contract  .

TD was the most interesting and the most dissapointing to me personaly because the guy said that they had exclusive rights on the OEM cpus to ship them as they get them (basically Intel can't stop them, they paid Intel for this I guess) and that they got 150 E6600's in today (Friday) but they had backorders for 163 (this is when I called at noon) and the next shipment wasn't until August 8th, so I missed the boat by hours literally >.<
ZZF gave no help, when I called yesterday though they said the E6600's should be in stock Monday, 7/31; I would be checking the website, if they show stock but don't say that they wont ship until August 7th, you may want to order fast come Monday-ish, but this is uncertain.
Newegg has no sales department and customer service just told me they were getting a bunch of calls but they still don't have any information at this time about potential stock dates and that they will "be sure to let their customers know when they do have them on the website" whatever that means, maybe they will just show it on the front page :P
Ok hope this helps! I have all the rest of my parts arriving on Monday, it will be a LONNNNGGG week :P

So much drama! lol
yeah I guess were in a reverse boat :P my P5W DH arrived today (among other parts) but I likely won't be getting cpu until the 8th of August. If you ordered an OEM I might be feeling good if what that guy told me was correct, he sounded like he knew what he was talking about and that he had been on top of it all day.
If you ordered a retail on the other hand.. Who knows :P
I really hope this isn't a bunch of smoke and mirrors. Has anyone got an OEM e6600 from them yet? I ordered mine (OEM, not retail) at 1:15pm est yesterday; from what I understand that was around an hour after they went up. My order is still listed as backordered.Quote:

I haven't decided what motherboard to get yet (can't find the MSI975x v2 board release date  ), so it's not that important to me yet; however, I'm a little concerned about what I'm hearing TD reps are saying and what I'm seeing on my order status.

Reason i ask is because im going to be buy a new comp next week. i was hoping for something along these lines.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 --------------------------------------- $180 - right now $220
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe ----------------------------------------- $250 - right now $280
Team Group Xtreem DDR2 667MHz Dual Channel 2 Gb Kit DDR2 -- $250 - 3-3-3-8 Timings
eVGA 256-P2-N584-AR Geforce 7900GT KO 256MB ------------- $270
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320 GB ------------- $100
SAMSUNG SH-S162L/BEBN DVD Burner ------------------------- $36
AMS CF-2229BK Black Steel ----------------------------------- $58
Thermaltake TR2 W0070 ATX 430W Power Supply -------------- $40
Tuniq T-120 ------------------------------------------------- $50
But if these prices are going to hold for a month i would rather go AMD.
Nxds, Tankguys has the P5W DH Deluxe for $245 plus shipping..OOS right now but still.
Also, just a comment about your rig there, but I'd reconsider that PSU if I were you. Get at least the Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w for ~$69 for the Sunbeam NUUO 550w for $75 if you want a decent, stable, reliable PSU.

Both those PSU have terrible reviews 1st the Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w which starts to turning into cr@p after 6+ months, then the Sunbeam NUUO 550w which burns drives like crazy. I think i might go with Rosewill RP600S-2MK ATX12V 600W instead what do you think? A lot of people said the ASUS P5W DH was better then the Gigabyte DS3, but it is a hell of a lot cheaper.
Hope my new Mastercard comes in 2morrow.(:( Washington Mutual canceling my Visa you suck!!!:slapass:)

Me I wanted a modular because I'm new to this and I saw this Antec for a rediculous price (Buy it now) in brand new condition on Ebay. Lets just say I got it way less than what It would haved cost on Pricegrabber or Froogle. So far I like it a lot too.

The Tuniq Tower 120 will probably not be available till Mid-September (till around Sept 15) so unless you are lucky to find one (then tell me :P) you should look for something else/use a temporary or wait for it.Quote:

Screw it with the prices so high and parts unavailable im might just go with a cheap AMD X2 setup until the RD600 comes out and Conre2 are in stock. Thanks for the great help, too bad Intel cant met the demand they really have a Winner in there hands.
NXds, wait one week as Intel said the 7th for retail availabity (27th for oem, ie dell...) a while ago, and they have said supply should be good then
But i want it Now:banana:
Thanks for answering my question i though these prices where going to hold for 3+ weeks. Since i thought that the retail availabity was June 27.
um... wait a week maybe?

What's the difference between OEM and Retail version of Core 2 Duo? Is it the heatsink/fan only? Does it have a shorter guarantee? I was thinking of buying an E6300 OEM since they are the only ones in stock right now. Is it worth it?
yes shorter gaurantee and no heatsink, I remember when boxed came with a 5 year warranty looks like its down to three years. looks like its 12 for oem better than I remember. In the past retail overclocked slightly better than oem but there are so few data points with core2 duo who knows. Overclocking voids warranty, yes I know we all know that.Quote:

I will probably burn my CPU they day after I get it anyway :).
No stock heatsink/fan, retail box, or 3 year warranty. I don't know if the OEM warranty on them is 30 days or 1 year. Usually OEM is only 30 days but through TD it may be a full 1 year.Quote:

Unless you're in desperate need of an unlocked processor simply for overclocking contests, there is next to no justification for paying $1000+ for a CPU whose performance can be matched stride for stride by an E6600 or E6700 at a fraction of the cost.Quote:

And about reaching 4ghz, well, it is never guaranteed. You could by an X6800 that could reach 5ghz, or one that won't go past 3.5ghz. It is a gamble, besides, the user is not supposed to mess with the speed to begin with.
