damn, i've the board in DU and i can't test it under LN2/SS :D
Hi!
I've got a weird problem with my T3EH8, maybe somebody's got an idea :).
I've got 8 HDDs in my pc, so all SATA connectors are in use.
When I set the ICH to AHCI copying large amounts of files from ICH-connected drive to drive hangs randomly for 1 minute (the hangs occur approx. every 2 mins) and then it continues to copy.
Using Intel Postville on 0, 2x WD and 3x Samsung drives on the other ICH-connectors, using Win 7 x64, standard Microsoft AHCI-drivers, latest bios.
Seems like everything is ok when the ICH is set to IDE.
I've replaced all SATA-cables and tried several bios revisions, but basically I'm out of ideas :(.
Anyone got any ideas? Anymore info needed?
I'm on stock voltages, going to try that right away :).
Well. Either being set to IDE for a few days made "something" reset when going back to AHCI or the voltages helped... it's working for now, thanks a lot :).
Didn't expect to have to overvolt Intel hardware just to get the advertised 6 drives working -.-
Hello there, have been I while since I posted here...
I have a little issue, I can't remember the update method with falsh USB and I can't get in in the dfi club also. I couldn't finde anywhere else to read about it.
I would be glad if you could help me.
What I still have is the software to do that:
Winima85
xpboot
HP USB BOOT
Thanks in advance.
use the HP tool, then download and extract the contents on the flash drive (autoexec.bat, awdflash.exe and the biosname.bin)
tell the mobo to boot from usb and watch the show
(load optimized defaults first)
btw there is a new bios out http://dfi.com/portal/CM/cmproduct/X...rmal&mode=view :D
Ok but I hace to make it boot my USB stick, isn't it?
Well when I tried to do that hp boot asked my for some booteable files, which one are they?
Thanks!
THANKSSSSSSSSS
Now I till try it!
Does anyone knows what's going on with dfi club?
Thanks nikk I could update my bios with your help.
Another question... I couldnt find an add on card to ad usb 3 and sata 3 ports to my dfi board, because the asus accesori card is only for asus and evga has one for all the motherboards not just the evga ones but it only add usb 3 ports... and I care more about sata than usb.
Not true ive got the asus card working in my dfi x58 T3eH6...works fine ..my friend has one working fine on his biostar board..it will work fine on your dfi x58 Te3H8 board...
install was load drivers and then put in card ,sees it on boot up ,done deal....
I ok, well... bacause I read in the asus site and... there only shows compatibility with asus motherboards. And for example in the evga site it says something like: I works fine with any motherboard with pci" or soemthing like that but I doenst talk only about evga mb.
And it works fine to you?
Could you see any difference in your daily use with sata3?
nope no noticeable difference...my wd ssd drive made the single most noticeable difference ive ever made on a computer..it is amazing...
in the last couple of days i did some testing with the two new bioses - D826 and D908.
with both of them the system wasn't stable at every settings that isn't "load optimized default".
maybe the two new bioses are good for 32nm but for 45nm - or at least for my config - they are pure crap.
i'm using an i7-920 D0 and OCZ platinum PC12800 cas7 3x2 GB.
Hre it works pretty good.
But I have other kind of issue.
I reacently add one more hard drive to my rig, wd green 1tb.
The things is that now I cant turn off my computer from windows. When I choose shut down, windows turn off almost all the system, just the red led from hdd activity still on in my case and also all the fans.
Why this is happening? Any ideas?
EDIT:
I already try to turn it off being overclocked, without oc and with load optimized so I dont think is a bios problem...
And I forgot to say that I can turn it off by the off buton on my case, which turn on the system properly.
I've got another weird thing going on. After getting my HDDs working I'm now trying to overclock my 950 a bit.
I'm currently using an OCZ Vendetta 2 which is ok, but not really amazing (going to switch to water cooling once the quirks are out of the system) so my goal is something like 3.8 GHz which shouldn't be much of an issue.
vtt: 1.28 cvore 1.2625, io voltages raised as seen above.
Basically my problem now is: at 23x167 I can run IntelBurnTest 5 passes at around 70°C w/o problems, but when I run Windows Experience Index my SSD gets a (too low) 5.9.
When I leave all settings as they are except running at 21x181 the SSD measures at 7.7, so everything seems fine like that, but I'm having cold boot issues.
my guess is: do you really need all that cpu power for DU? my answer is no :D
default frequency + undervolt is da way to go
btw, i never ever had cold start issue even when i was clocking my cpu very hard (e.g. 920 > 5.1 GHZ).
if i were you i would try bumping a bit one by one all the voltages, probably one of them too low is the problem.
I'm hearing that turbo mode for the 950 may be a bit buggy, so I turned it off, and 23x167 would be pretty nice for daily use with C1E and EIST because it can still clock down quite a bit that way and when I need the power it's there. I turned off HT as well (not needed for my usage).
Everything would be perfect if my SSD (connected to port 1) wouldn't be so weirdly slow with that setting.
I'll try 21x167 to see if its the BCLK or the 23x multi that's causing it.
