Here you go. :)
5D - Identify the CPU Check the CPU ID and init L1/L2 cache
I did some quick testing, since I did not have time to do that before. I'm trying to cut some more volts but I doubt I could go with lower Vcore and VTT while maintaining ram at this speed. Anything lower on VTT would cause reboot. However I did manage to lower CPU PLL, still searching for right balance... :)

Quick question: what is the max safe ich i/o ? I had set mine at 1.58 is that likely to damage anything eg sata dreives/usb?
You'll be fine, but it probably isn't necessary

I didnt just make it up lol some guy said "ICH I/O: has influence on southbridge volts for drives, usb" see second post
I didn't think you made it up :)
It is voltage for incoming/outgoing communications from the ICH to IOH, it should not affect your devices at all only the chips mentioned.
Hi guys!
Finally ive got my 930 and Ga x58 ud7 and Corsair XMS3 3x2GB, 1600MHz CL7. Im still waiting for my cpu water block cause i forgot that D-tek fuzion v2 from my qx9650 wont work on 1336:) ;) But i coudnt resist to install this setup on box cooler. Problem is that in ilde i have 48-48C. Isnt that to high? I dont want to oc cause im afraid of temps:) It is 4 years since i went for WC so im not used to see such a temps on ilde:)
and one more question are those mems T1 or T2 XMS profile set it to T2.
I just joined the X58A-UD7 club too :D
I hope to start the overclocking tomorrow. Gonna make sure nothing is wrong with my new motherboard first.

What's the max I should be able to get without any trouble? I'm expecting at least 4ghz
hmmm had a randomn problem recently where my ssd "bricked" randonly during a game- and was undetectable in the bios for about 15 mins before it started working again.
spoke to tech guy today and he said that it could be the drive or it could be a faulty sata port on the motherboard.
I really want to rule out my motherboard but how can I reliably test a fault that happens once very 2 weeks?
yes it has latest firmware- vertex le
I hate random issues. i cant trust anything now
I guess that's the price to pay for jumping on a new technology, the SandForce controller/firmware needs to mature up apparently.
Take it up in OCZ-forum , they may have a new beta-FW already.
After mounting WC, and couple restarts, my first(white) ddr3 slot went down. Cant detect any memory and cant boot. Board can boot on other slots. Board went to RMA:(
So, somebody came out with 2533Mhz Dual channel memory today.... I saw some crazy timings and though to myself who needs double channel with those timings?
< Mushkin to the rescue!
Didn't notice till I went to post this I was 10Mhz off, will do again later tonight :D
2522.8Mhz Triple Channel

Yes, of course this is not stable like their $325 a stick memory probably is, but it was quick and easy to get there
could you try if your kit could do 1.66v 2.4GHz for 24/7?
GSKill's XMP 2.3GHz CL8 no problem with Gigabyte X58.
i though my kit is only max 2350MHz CL8 for 24/7

Nice speed Hicookie!
No, I don't think this kit will do 2.4Ghz for 24/7 use stable! I could try, but I doubt it will.
It is only a CAS 7 1600Mhz Kit (BBSE), very surprised I could do the speeds I did above!
http://mushkin.com/Memory/Blackline/998679.aspx
I think it is only possible because of 980X Uncore multi changes, with 965 CPU I could only do 2140Mhz
I need to see if G.Skill has something they will send me for testing and review
Crystal Disk Info will show you the firmware, Everest Ultimate, or system information in windows.
thanks lsdmeasap, once again you are the for the rescue.thanks for all you help
Anytime man!
So you find what you needed then?
well the funny thing is,after reading your post i fired up everest
and looked at the HD's and was confused because all i could see
was WD HD listed.after a few minutes i realized that im on my old
920 setup.both have WD Hd's,but the new one also has the P128.
i was messing around with the new one today, and forgot that im
back on the old one
Haha, that's funny!
Yes, you do need to be on the System with SSD's to see the SSD firmware.
How does the P128 perform? Had you used a different SSD Previously to compare your thoughts with.
this is my first SSD and i like it a lot.my pronle right now is i only have one video card
and im in the middle of crunching for WCG with the 920.but today i decided to play
with my new P55A-UD7 and new i7-870.and its is fast.but i had to put the card back
and finish my WU's.ive got a gigabyte HD5870 on the way.
until then im on my X58A-UD3R+i7-920
