Vcore: 1.625
Cooling: XP-120 with quiet 120mm fan
Vdimm: 2.8
The ram is Crucial 8T. Loose timings but at least it runs at 1T and only costs $86. per 512MB stick. It maxes at 245 MHz with these timings.
I purchased this 3200+ Newcastle from newegg about in the beginning of September.

I have been met with nothing but trouble while overclocking on air but I just purchased the A64 adapters for my koolance and My temps have dropped 40 degrees. The funny thing is I have the ORIGINAL Mushkin PC3200 LevelII with the original BH5's in them and I have to keep the ram at 2.8v to boot the frickin machine stock. This is the same RAM that Pedro used to f*ck Macci's 6GHz benchmarks up. But I am running 2-2-2-5-1T but even when running from the SPD it would still crash. I had problems with a fresh install of XP b/c it kept complaining that it couldnt read random files on the windows cd so I bumped the voltage and low and behold it fixed the problem. Now the Abit K8V Pro I have automatically does 204 out of the box but even manually adjusting it yielded the same results. I will also say the bios reported the SPD at Cas 2.5 whether at 204 or 200 which I found very odd. I have not tried overclocking big time yet b/c I just put everything back together 2 days ago and I am happy to say atleast I am running very stable 204x11=2244@2-2-2-5-1T. I can get into Windows at 11x215 fully tweaked but crashes after I take the SS. Yes I am flashed and I do not have the 1.x revision.
it came only the chip, and it doesn't have the shim, the core is exposed, like this one:Quote:

c0V3Ro - i've heard the thermalright xp-90 works with mobiles.
markbdfrd - welcome to the xtreme.
have you tried a bit of xtra vcore? search for dageladis's threads on that board. he knows exactly how to set them up. otherwise the abit forum will be a great place to find help.
thanks flytek :) i'm uncertain between a thermalright or jump to a WC.Quote:

3200+"clawhammer@ 3700+ is this a good overclock??
That means @2400MHz?Quote:

yeah at 2,4 ghz on stock cooling..
The different is the RAM ratio (FSB : DRAM)
As both o/c almost on par in CPU
DFI Lanparty NF3

Abit KV8Pro

dfx- Welcome to Xtreme! :)
You get a slightly higher cpu overclock on the Abit board? Is that with the same vcore?
Could you give your impression of the Abit compared to the DFI? I have the Abit and really like it. But I'd be curious to hear your thoughts since you have both boards.
Thanks.
both mobo are tested on the chip + ram (bh5)Quote:

reasons why i show the abit mobo @ slightly better result is because the ram is set to run @ 5:4 timing (ddr333) due to the low vdimm
n' dfi nf3 @ 2.65ghz because of it high vdimm allow it to run @ 1:1 (ddr400)
my bh5 is only capable of running 265mhz
imho both board are great
dfi need not to mod whereas abit need to do a vdimm mod if u want to achieve nice 1:1 result
How do you get the cool and quiet core center?? i got a asus k8vsedx motherboard.
Some cool screen shot
But my BH5 is not stable at this speed

Thanks for the lead Flytek. I have some interesting news on my OC. I poked around in the bios because of a post on this board and I started looking for the LDT which was set at 5X. I lowered it to 3X and ran 3dMark05 stable at 210x11 which is a first for me. Well the score is 4400 with my 6800GT flashed with Ultra bios and oc'd to 420/1.11. Well I get 5200 with LDT 5x at 11x204. wtf
I also called Mushkin to figure out why I have to run at 2.8v and they suggested lowering from 2-2-2-5-1T to 2-3-2-5-1T. wtf
help help help
nah. screw them. 2.8 is totally safe for bh-5/6. i have seen many sets that would not do what they were rated for until given 2.8volts. just be happy you have some.
hi I'm new to this fourm and ocing on amd 64 platform...
I'v read the whole thread tho took me like one day to read throught it...
ya my current comp is 2500@3.2ghz but I'm selling that and I'm thinking of buying a amd 64...
now I need some help from you guys...I gonna be ocing with air...cause I'm poor...
I wnated to get a 3000 nc cg core or mabye a 2800 cg core
cause avg oc with 3000 on stock air is 2.3 from what I read
I'v seen people get their 2800 go 2.5 on stock air coolin
now I'm not sure about the mobo
MIS K8N neo platnum
or
Abit KV8 Pro K8T800 Pro
I would be happy with a 2.3ghz oc with stock air
since I only use the pc for gaming, would there be a big difference(performace/money) wise between the k8t800 and the NF3 250 chipset
I got a 9800pro AWI
ram: 2x512 infineon 400ddr pretty cheap...
please help me find what's the best setup for a decent oc thaks in adavance.
After waiting a full week for account activication, here's my first post :D
AMD A64 3200+ 1MB L2 CG stepping
DFI Lanparty UT nF3 250Gb

2.7GHz (270MHz x 10) is the highest oc that can still run some benchmarks

33s SuperPi is a lil slow for 2.7GHz 1MB, because the memory was running at 9:10.
At 2.65GHz (265MHz x 10), my Kingston Hynix D43 is able to run at 1:1 @ 2.5-3-3 1T at 2.8V, which is also the highest performance.
http://www.anti-x.org/bbs/attachment...N_a64_2650.gif
At 2.6GHz (265MHz x 10), 1.75V, Hynix D43@2.7V, the system is fully stable for both the CPU and memory. After some tweakings, I managed to hit 33s, at 2.6GHz

Passed 11 hours of Prime95 turture test in place large FFT. :D

Now running both 512MB stick and rock stable at 260MHz 2.5-3-3-10 1T at 2.8V

Managed to hit 2.8GHz but there could only get so far...

Cooling 1200 RPM case fan and 2200 RPM CPU fan
VCore-1.550 highest i can use :(
2241.14 MHz-highest i can go an be sure nothing will crash it
I have been able to push it to 2267.86 MHz.
First Post Here after about a year of browsing! :D
Havent really worked on Mine.

Cheers.
Pretty nice forsakened 2.5ghz on stock volts that chip will go far! Probuably hit 2.75Ghz on air.
Yeah im thinking the same! :D Prolly pump 1.6V through this Chip since its Watercooled now ... as soon as i get done with these bloody Exams
does someone have any suggestions for me yet? :(Quote:
