Hey guys... I'm having an issue. I want to set my CPU voltage above 1.6v, but the voltage choices on the Rampage Formula start taking much larger steps once you pass 1.6v, the next one after 1.6 is 1.65, and I don't want that much. Is there anything I can do to get voltages between 1.6 and 1.65?

I did try using 1.65, but for some reason, the board would POST but then give you an error about the CPU voltage being set too high. Umm... wtf, if that is too high then why even include the option for it. And anyway I should be able to use any voltage I want...

Anybody know a way around this?

Did you set up raid AFTER installing your OS? I think your OS doesn't have raid drivers. You may have to manually install drivers. you need iastor.sys in drivers folder. May work; better than a fresh install. I don't know if iastor.sys needs a registry path to work.

Why have 1.650v+? Options. I'd disable LLC, enable eist and eic. You'll get lower actual volts in windows.

yes i did setup raid after installing os
i am using vista 64x don't they have native support for raid
gonna put iastor.sys in drivers folder see what happens

do you know if that is possible having single disks and a raid set together.....sounds right but is it?

by the way my dvd rom is sata just to mention
so i tried to do a fresh install and when raid is on and vista dvd on drive it doesn't even boots from cd wtf ?
however i also used win xp 64x which booted pressed f6 to install raid drivers...i had 64x drivers of course....but it asks me x86 drivers again wtf?
anyway i put on x86 drivers detects everything and rolls but as soon as boot process is over it crashes giving an error message 0x0000007 or something again wtf?

ps. when i try to install intel matrix storage manager in windows it says cannot install your system does not meet minimmum requirements again wtf?

to setup a new raid u must re-install the O/S after setting up the raid in Bios & have the raid drivers installed 1st .. & boot from the windows install CD,,, if i remember corecttly

The voltage throttling options do not do anything when you are using manual voltage control, and disabling LLC will only decrease the voltage at load, not idle. I need voltage between 1.6 and 1.65 at idle. Why the hell wouldn't asus just have the options to do so instead of making such a stupidly large jump from 1.6 to 1.65v??!

I have a question about he ACHI options. I finally decided to install a small drive to install my operating system to and use the riad 0 arrays just for applications and data. I know that in the bios I have to set the sata to achi. Now in order to create a raid 0 with the achi enabled, do I have to install the matrix software and create the raid 0 using it or can it be done in the bios?

AHCI is a subset of RAID, meaning you get AHCI when you configure your system with RAID in bios, however, if you configure your system for AHCI in bios, you'll lose raid.

Right now I have the bios set to RAID instead of sata or achi. With this setting when booting it says no achi devices found. That is why I was wondering if I had to set it to achi in the bios and then create the array in Windows via the Intel Matrix software.

Hello guys, any tip how to get FSB set to 575Mhz stable? i can run at 550Mhz for hours without error, but not 575Mhz, i want it because i have little better DIMMs, but due to problematic memory divider, i can only run them with 1:1 ratio.

dont think its possible on this board, insufficient power phases for the cpu/nb to get much higher than 533mhz fsb stable, the next fsb step up is 600mhz, and 575mhz is too far away from that, if you want try 583-600. they are the only frequencies you'll have much luck with. +-16mhz of 566mhz fsb base clock is somewhat of an fsb hole on the RF. The voltage circuitry can't drive a clean enough signal to the NB and CPU to stabilize the system, you need more phases to get these ranges working right like on the RE.

Are you trying to load AHCI drivers? You'll need raid drivers.

YOU CANNOT INSTALL RAID0 when you set the controller to AHCI, the RAID OPTION is there for a reason.

Highest FSB I could run stable (due to my 2GBx2 dimm limitation) was 7.5x560 24/7). It passed a couple of hours small ftts stable in Vista x64.

I'm running a Q9550 now, I don't remember exact settings, but the screenies show the more important settings. I usually don't touch CPU PLL (1.50v).

Edit: This was with bios 410. It was my 24/7, completely stable.

The temperature is dropping outside, once I feel that it's cold enough I'm going to attempt to break my previous 4.64ghz (AIR) record.

I was not able to catch 4 Ghz stable, even with water cooling.

My max stable frequency was around 3.9 Ghz, but with very high voltages and temps.

24/7 stability was around 3.8 GHz.

I will try on Alps nights, during Xmas holidays, when the temp is around -10 C°

I have just to put the case out of the window for a couple of hours. :D

I'm gonna do a Raid 0 on my 2 x 300Gb Velociraptor.
Can u guys advice me if i will need a floppy disk drive?

1. I go to the BIOS to set as Raid
2. Insert Window Vista x64 disc
3.
4.

What's the set after that?
What are the intel software i need? Intel Matrix Storage?

you dont need floppy drivers disk for raid or ahci on vista, vista includes some old drivers so it will detect your raid, just install vista64 and install latest matrix storage manager after
