both on this mobo, but normally the nearer one's to the NB are better.
i like the one's with the green clips myself, manly because they slot in easyer. u dont need so much force to push them in as the normal clips

I noticed that as well. Anyway, I have all four populated without any issues so far. But, i am not doing any crazy clocks or latencies with my memory either.
OK, I'm in - I bit the bullet and ordered mine today... :D
does x38 have anything on P35 in terms of max fsb? or is it the 16x/16x which people are after?
well what would u say was the max fsb on the p35?
GREAT NEWS!!!!!!
my board died today !!!! :( :(
Power flashes on for a halfsec sec, nothing but 88 on the poster LCD, power supply works on another system, so im pretty much sure its a dead board
so ill be RMAing, im so happy!!!!!!! -_-
aww sucks to hear that, hopefully you get yourself up and running again real soon
i have an idea for the PWM, get one of those non contact thermometers , and point it at the heatsink over the pwm... if the thermometer and the temp readings coming out of the sensor agree well, then i'll leave it... otherwise its backplate and mx2 time
does anyone have any idea where to get the transpiper? whichever way you look at its heatpipes, thats gonna make one friggin huge pwm heatsink...
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but can anyone tell me what the ranges for the voltages are?
Thanks.
when will DFI's version of the x48 be out?
IMHO the P35 is the better board if youre looking for pure benching performance ( not sure for 3d single card )... Maybe I got a bad one but I was benching yesterday on the X38 with E6600 and my times were not even close to what I was getting on the P35 before.... plus my max fsb decreased :(
I can only say that ofcourse using an E6600, dont have a wolfie and I kinda dont feel like getting one now if im gonna be fsb limited :(...
got a weird problem mushkin xp2-8500
was running cas 5-4-4-12 1000mhz n got blue screen 2.22v
now running 4-4-4-12 1000mhz all good
Didnt test on water but on ln2 highest I got was 570fsb, which was a piece of cake on the P35 ( max 600fsb cpu limited)... I used the same settings I was using for the P35, and played with the vmch and pll a little but that was all I can get.... I just thought of something now, I was increasing the vmch then but never tried lowering it ( compared to P35 Vmch) ... Hmm gotta go, Im gonna try lower voltage right now....
I don't know if you realise how hard you made me laugh reading that... :ROTF: asking luihed  does his avatar tell you anything...;)
Loving my x-38. increased bandwidth definitely helps crossfire. So far the Board seems stable and temps are great. won't have much time for benching or tweaking till the weekend. looooong week.
The one I was smoking then was a lil smaller than that lol.... BC weed BTW is the best in the world :D
Just want to say Ive been wrong with the X38, it looks to be at par or better ( still testing ) than the P35 in terms of max fsb
Sorry if I misled anybody but at the time I was raising vmch wheareas I should be lowering it...max fsb on P35 was done at 1.9v, thats where I started in X38 and tested to max...
On water my E6600 maxed at around 548fsb spi32M, im running 32M now at 550fsb on the X38 @1.75v on the vmch... loop6 now and it should finish... again my bad....
Edit:Its official ( for me anyways ) X38 reached higher fsb.... max screenie for P35 was 560fsb and I just finished 1M at that speed on the X38... starting to like the board now :D
thanks for the tip luihed i was @ 2v @ 550 couldnt go any higher
lets see how high i can get lol i not smokin no dubie lol
setfsb workin on this board?
Motherboardpro.com has the transpiper for $30. It was in stock yesterday when I bought my board. Speaking of which, this was my first order from them. Is it normal for you to get a "your order has been processed" email, but go to the site afor an update and still find the board in your shopping cart? That seems weird to me, but I know I was after their 4:00pm cut-off.
Anyway, I have a non-contact thermometer. When I get mine up and running I can check it out.
@zsamz: setfsb is working, PLL was something with CY if i remember correctly, i'am at work atm so i may look it up when i got home.
hmm 1,75v on the northbridge, is this something you can give 24/7 ? Maybe when the nb is watercooled ?
so is it 100% the x38 is oc'ing better than the p35 in these boards now.. anyone else care to chime in?? im trying to pick one or the other... thanks
did your board die since you had a china version and did not flash to the current bios?
[QUOTE=ic3m4n2005;2719954hmm 1,75v on the northbridge, is this something you can give 24/7 ? Maybe when the nb is watercooled ?[/QUOTE]
Thats only for benching... for 24/7 i set it close to minimum like everything else... I really dont care how fast my computer run 24/7 just benches....:D
