but the point is that it DOES NOT bot with 6X multi and IT DOES NOT allow to chose any multi in BIOS, unless you are using dothan with 400FSB... :(Quote:

just wnet down to 173FSB at 1.35V and will try reflashing soon.
oh here you have my laptop :)
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=23854
have reflashed with asus official 1022 bios (which is the same beta I guess), no changes, no multiplier and voltage options for 740 dothan... :( has any of you have these options with 533 bus dothans???
now priming at 2275MHz (175FSB) and 1.4V.... it just does not support anything higher, even when changing from windows.... I have no idea how to get that 200+ FSB...
HELP....... :)
the jumper on the ct-479 is set to 533??
Could you post your O/cing with your cpu origin ( malaysia or philippines) and their packdate? Thxs...
730 Philippines 03/18/05... barely stable at 2.4GHz with 1.5v w/default cooling.
Thxs,
I think it'll be very usefull to see for O/Cing potential, if the cpu origin is important... ;)
my 725 fron philipinnes SL7EG with pack date of 05/06/2005 ia laso barely reaching that limit and no more with default cooling.
and for the jumpers - it did make no difference as to set them to 400 or 533 - dothans with 400FSB have multi options in bios and dothans with 533 do NOT.
by the way,I have 2 dothans 725:
one on a p4c800ed 1.6@2.4 vcore 1.425v(fsb 160 bios so ratio x15)
the other on a dfi855 1.6@2.4 vcore default 1.34v(fsb 150)
they both came from malay...
Windows doesn't like overclocking. :)

And my best so far.

and the memory info

Setup:
Dothan 730 > 1.5v as bios setting, stock cooler
P4P800 SE > booted at 201 fsb
Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2 (TCCD) > 2-3-3-6

Dr. Ychock
I've got a 730 in a P4P800SE, the chip seems pretty good, it'll do 2.4 at stock voltage. I'm doing 2544Mhz (212mhz) right now at around 1.35v.
The thing is that even if I reduce my ram to the 5:4 ratio I cant get past 217fsb. Even with the fsb at 217, the voltage at 1.6v, and raising the fsb in windows, when I raise it to 218 it won't take very long at all to spontaneously restart.
Of course I can change the multi in windows too and then raise the fsb past 217, but I'm still stuck with low cpu speed. Dunno what to blame. The cpu shouldn't be hitting a hard wall like this.
Shadrag: Is yor agp/pci locked? ..if you have Ati Radeon card and you boot up at 200fsb the locks dont work. U hav to boot at 201fsb.
Yes my card is ati and I didn't boot at 200, everything was locked according to the clockgen.
Shadrag,
can you tell us your cpu origin & packdate? Thxs!
My quess is that maybe your CPU -has simply reached it limits. Generally OC-ability seems to die suddenly after a certain MHz point wit these Dotties.
I would say past some point in FSB, cause my 725 cannot bot at more than 150FSB be it 16x multi or 6x multi and 740 looses stability after 170 FSB, even if you use 13x or 6x in windows.Quote:

mine is a 730 and when i flash to 1022 biose i get the 6x multipler,so you must be doing something wrong .( bcn )
is ok, you can adjust it from windows!

I think there cannot be any difference on top of which bios you flash right?
try to use the last windows update utility, i used that and all worked ok! :)
I have used asus update 6.03.01... is it the last one?
No, last is 6.07.01.
Could anyone who has tried the adaptor with p4p800 std tell if its any good?
