R7LD422 2009-04-22 Beta is out MR2.
older build that the beta they pulled down...wonder why they went backwards
OK, I see at the DFI site................. It is with the latest bios
Bleh still dont have any fun with my JR 790GX M2RS. Can only hit 3350 Mhz stabel at stock volts with my 940 BE. It ran 3600 At 1.4v on a old GA 790X board no prob. Very strange. I expected a bit more from a DFi even when its a mATX.
And does anyone know if the current bios also supports the unlocking of disabled cores ? or are that only the xxxA biosses ? like the 215A for the JR and the 310A for the DK.
I expect everyone has moved onto bigger and better things but Im still kicking around with my 9950. Im limited to 239 FSB atm and anything near 3.1 goes to pot.
is it worth upgrading to the D7LD422 bios??
cheers guys
M
It is worth upgrading to the D7LD422.
hi guys, new UT beta bios, anyone tried it?
Date Code 2009-07-06
File R7LD706.zip
Size 500 KB
Link
Major Reasons of Change:
1. Fixed Cool & Quiet function fail when the system Over-Clock.
2. Enhance the DRAM performance.
3. Added new AMD uCore for support futurity CPU.
4. Change TRAS of DRAM Item select range.
seems OK, not much difference from before that I can tell. maybe a little more stable.Quote:

Hey guise, quick question. I rma'd my dk 790fx m2rs and they are sending me back a dk 790x m2r, is this better or worse than my old board? The only diffrence I see is sb750 vs sb600 and the pcie slots running at x8 x8 instead of x16 x16?

Anyone tried this at all? I am intrigued about the enhanced DRAM performance and any OCing gains to be had?
cheers
Matt
Have not tried it yet UT M2R has been retired to server system with everything left at default clocks:D
Well the TRAS fix works, I can finally select 15 when using the 2.66 (1066) DRAM multiplier. Cool'n'Quiet is unfortunately not working for me with my OC. The option is selectable, which is better than the previous BIOS where it was 'grayed out', but it doesn't appear to be doing anything when the machine is running.
This is with a 940BE. I haven't really tried pushing this OC any more so I can't really comment on how it is for tweaking, but it seems stable and I'm happy to have my TRAS reduced by one cycle :p:
edit: I'm actually using a 790FXB (BIOS R7SD706) so this may or may not apply to you guys using the 790FX, although the post on the DFI website lists exactly the same fixes.
Hi all,
I've lost track of the so many BIOS versions out there, could someone please advise me if I should flash with the latest version available on the DFI site (2009-04-22)?
DFI Lanparty UT 790FX M2R
Phenom 9850 BE
Currently with Cellshock 2x1GB 1066 (although operating at 800MHz, because I use the default BIOS) but I bought the OCZ 1066MHz Platinum@ 1.8V (8GBytes - 4x2GB).
I'll install Vista Ultimate x64.
Thanks in advance.
yeah those later versions are good^^
Thank you very much Oese. :)
can i work a new phenom ii 965 BE AM3 on this Board?
i think so.
but i'll ask DFI to be sure...
Hey, Olli
Just getting back into the swing of things and playing catch up from being down for 2 months
:)
to RNeon
ehh no i don't think this board does support the Phenom II X4-965 cpu
as i got it this weekend i got nothing but problems,
i mailed DFI tech support europe , i'll post here to what is happening,
it has bin cut here and there as it was longer then 2500 chars and the tech site didn't supported more then that.
Bios 2009-04-22
well and with this bios the problems started,
when the computer starts the AReca Raidcontroller,
beeps (this is normal as it has a post beep same as the Mainboard bios has)
but it doesn't beep once no, sometimes it beeps 5 times or 6 times it gets in a boot loop,
but i don't have to reset the system because if i let it go it will boot up sometimes after 4 or 5 times,
if it does then i hear another beep and that is the one from the Mainboard it self
oke so far so good, system works.
but now i bought a Phenom x4-965 3,4ghz
i know this board supports 940/955 (AM3) cpu's so AM3 isn't a problem,
the 965 isn't listed in the support cpu list.
but when i put that on in the system has the same problem with the areca controller again it boot loops same like i wrote above here,
but then it doesn't show my Areca anymore it boots just past it like it doesn't exist anymore,
and it gets stranger as i Reset my bios with Powerbutton/reset button 4 secs,
that when the system boots up i get 1 beep from the areca and after that 1 beep from the mainboard like it should be, no boot loop what so ever,
if i let it go then the areca works again, i can reset the system , reboot no problem it comes back again with 1 beep.
but when i enter the bios and only load optimized defaults, and then set the settings up again, and reboot the Areca get the boot loop again and unlike the AMD PhenomII x4-940 id doesn't show up anymore ,
with the x940 cpu it boot looped but it did show up eventually , but with the x965 cpu it's gone and never comes back until i reset the bios again.
the problem is when i don't enter the bios the areca works fine, but when i enter the bios and do not even change something and go out its gone and doesn't come back it get the boot loops again and doesn't show until i reset the bios again,
so basically i can't go to the bios , and if i do i get that problem with missing Areca again.
The bios sees the New cpu it says AMD PHENOM II X4-965
voltage is also seen correct by the bios 1.4volt,
beta bios
2009/07/06
doesn't fix my problem
