Weird, maybe it does 5 Ghz on air?! :D

Has anyone have the configurations for the UD5? i wanted to check out how much mine can go up to my goal is to take it to 4.2 stable, i also use 3x1GB Gskill 1600
Thanks
Gigabyte EX58-UD5/Extreme Discussion Thread
Check here.
4.2 should be a walk in the park.
Ive tried asking there but havent had an answer yet, im just looking for the settings for the UD5 that could take me to 4.2 easy...
Thanks

Enjoy! :D
Ok i tried out these settings but they didnt work for me everytime it tried to boot it would say "BOOTMSG is missing" so i tried to put to vcore to 1.38v it would get to the Welcome screen and freeze and give me the blue screen with the numbers counting up to 100 and would restart on it self, any ideas?

Try the below changes. Edit: if your on air, you may have temp problems with below settings...
If it fails, then run down mem multi to 6x and uncore to 13x and try again. If it works check stability and then walk down vcore and vtt.
If still fails try decrease bclk to 196 and try again. If it works there, you may just need more vcore and/or vtt for 21x200.

im on stock cool atm how much can i go up to with stock?
Your stock cooling is likely what is keeping you from being able to boot at 4.2. Most dont use stock cooling above 3.8 to 4, and even then will need a decent chip with low vcore/vtt requirements.
If at stock I would try no higher than 4 at first, and hope you need really low vcore/vtt for it, and dont be surprised if you cant even get 4 stable on stock.
If he disables EIST he won't be able to get Turbo mode (21x multiplier).
Btw, i think that there is no need for 1.36V of QPI/VTT voltage. My D0 is prime stable @ stock QPI/VTT voltage on 4.2GHz with 1.3V vcore.
Yeah, i know, every CPU is different but 1.36V of QPI/VTT voltage is overkill.
EDIT: I see now that he is on stock cooling. I really don't recommend to go over 3.6GHz with stock cooling.
Obviously you dont have a GB board. EIST has nothing to do with turbo on GB board.
I suggested those settings because he has been trying for several days, and already tried lower settings and was unable to get into windows with 1.38vcore and 1.32qpi/vtt, so like you said yourself, your settings are irrelevant for vcore qpi/vtt. My chip needs 1.34 qpi/vtt for 21x200, any lower and bsods...but I did not go by that irrelevant information either, instead I read what he previously tried.
And bottom line, once found out he was on stock cooling, pretty much made everything moot, as that was likely his problem from the beginning.
There aren't enough C0's in this thread any more. Here's an old i7. HT is off obviously, wouldn't have a hope in hell getting to 4GHz stable with reasonable voltage (for a C0) and reasonable temps with it left on.

(temps are bottom right in the task bar)
well i got a UD5 and it seems there is nothing
wrong with my cpu:D same batch as one of imo's
3849B018.im so glad it was the dfi board after
seeing imo's results.so this morning after verifying
that it would prime without failing or BSOD at stock
settings,i tried my very first i7 OC.and its not bad
at all.today ill try to lowering some voltages.

Very nice radaja you got even a nicer overclock i see, what ram are you using?
Good Batch almost similar to the best 3845B027.
Great work, keep us updated. ;)
thanks imo.well i lowered the vcore two notches
and all good.4.2@ 1.18v.
im using my OZC ddr3-1333 LV Animals.

Check if you can be stable with prime 95 default blend test/ small FFt test
Would love to see how your setup does with linx full mem test.
Neverthe less so far looking great
that is an hour of prime blend, will try linx next.ive lowered the vcore three more notches1.206v bios/1.168vload.
will see how it does.

Excellent, I think you have even beater overclock than the Xeon we seen before. Looks like core i7 still has the crown of skt 1366 overclocking thanks to the UD5 and batch # 3849B018 :D
Ok then what cooler do you guys recommend me getting for the D0?
thanks imo, going to see if i can run my memory at ddr-2000 now
nope.llc is enabled
