I don't recognize this - must be off on ggbt extreme by default.
I have had the board up to 1.6v vcore, 1.45v qpi and 1.9v memory - not had any problems with the board it that area at all. OC results to date -

BIOS F5d passed the same settings as F5b and F5c for me with HT off @ 20x200. LinX x 20 with 'All' RAM passed. Prime blending now. I haven't noticed any difference compared to F5c yet.
By the way, any quick tips on stability at 19x211? I set my RAM timings to SPD and 'Standard'. I even tried the lowest memory multiplier and corresponding Uncore multiplier to maintain a 2:1 ratio. The system immediately gets the infinite loop reboots if I try to boot at 19x211. I heard I could potentially get lower volts with the lower multi but I can't even get into the BIOS with it. I have turbo (always disabled) and HT disabled as well. Could it just be the fact that I'm trying to get 211mhz and there are other settings I need to change in the BIOS for stability at such a high BCLK?
does anybody have the lan drivers for the x58xtreme? thanks
if you wanna watercool the nb

On my x58 ud5, Vista sleep mode is broken if and only if HT is disabled. I need to know if there is something wrong with my particular board, or, is this a design flaw and all boards fail. I would be grateful if someone could take 30 seconds to put there board into sleep mode and then see if there is a malfunction upon resume attempt. The failure is that upon resume, the system hangs with a blank screen. If HT is enabled, then SM works correctly. This is a 100% repeatable bug. Be sure that suspend type is S3 in bios (S3 is default).
I am shopping a new x58 board and think I want to get the ex58-ud5.. but is it worth the extra few bux to get the extreme?? I am going to be ocing my 920 to 3.8 or 4ghz on air with 6gb of mem.. I know the chip is willing as it does this fine on my current board, but the board has other issues with memory larger than 3gb configs.. so anyways.. is the extreme worth it?
I dont know how my cpu can be this good without HT but anything over 3.99 with HT is borked. :shakes:
I just changed from XP 32 bit to windows 7 64bit and like it, so going to keep the beta and buy 7 as soon as out. Right now I have OCZ 3x1gb and Corsair dom 3x1 gb. I can run 6x1gb, but was not stable at 1T, prime failed immediately at previous settings + bumping up vcore, vtt, dram. Default said 2T, which did not try yet.
Two questions. To those using 3x2gb, which I am considering gettings, can you run at 1T without issue?
And to those using all 6 slots (probably those doing 12gb) are you having to use 2T?
Probably not that much difference in speed, but i am thinking it will be easier to get 3x2gb stable at lower settings than 6x1gb, unless 2 T makes huge difference, which I have not tried yet.
how easy is it to OC this board and what are the main issues with it? im in a toss up between this and the ASUS P6T delux. im wondering if the extra £15 for the ASUS one is really worth it.
what are the CS like in both manifacturer's?
think Im going to try an f5 and see if I can break 4ghz with HT
Don't think the NB needs watercooling mate, I still use the Antec spotcool to blow fresh air over the rams and the NB... will report later with temps

I know on my eclipse the motherboard value was something else much cooler than the NB.. the NB ran about 57c idle. anyways.. I see the extreme has a HUGE cooling apparatus if you go air only.. so I am betting the NB temps will be pretty good on air. So I'll be picking that one up I guess since I like to give my local shop the business for the new mobo. Thanks for the info RM! This thread appears to have all I will need to get things tweaked initially. That's another reason I want to go with the EX58, because of the strong following here. :)
Leeghoofd - thanks! the extreme version has a water block on the NB already, but is also has some additional cooling parts you can put on if you're going air only.. so I will use those with a spotcool. cheers!
Can you install a PCI-E X-Fi sound card in the x4 slot after installing the extra Northbridge cooling on the EX58-Extreme? I don't have any small PCI-E cards to test and haven't tried installing the additional NB heatsink yet either since others had reported it not making much difference in temps.
Yeah, I was just looking at that...

I have pci-e raid and sound to put on with my two video cards, so that's a no go. unless you can find a SUPER short x-fi.. Oh well, I guess I will order the UD5 from the egg.
Keep in mind that if you install a PCI-E card into the bottom x16 slot that it will switch PEG-2 and PEG-3 to x8/x8 mode so your second video card will be running in x8 mode instead of x16. I don't know if that will make much difference though. I think there is a thread going on here in this forum discussing the performance differences between x8 and x16.
Oh really? even if it's a 1x card?? geez.. my eclipse seemed to handle that fine, I have the x-fi in pci-e slot #3 and in everest it shows the lanes being 16x 16x 1x ... welllll, maybe I should think about the Asus then.. the workstation one... hrm. wait, doesn't x58 have 36 lanes to use total? so it should be able to run two 16x video cards at 16x with 4 lanes left over.. ??
edit: the manual says if pci-e slot 3 is populated with a "graphics card" that it will run in 8x mode... but what about if a 1x device is in it?
