I'm using the system in my sig and my bios settings include:

e8400 batch#:Q744A760 w/ 1.1125vid

1.395 vCore
2.0 DDR2 Volts
everything else is at default
5-5-5-15 Ram Timings by SPD
I've tried 63% gtlref voltages

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm hoping that there is just some obvious BIOS settings I'm missing.

Vdroop is a spec for intel processors...some board makers offer an override circuit to eliminate the droop but that increases the cost of the board...by how much, i don't have a handle on that.

EVERY cpu is different in overclocking potential and also with each motherboard...those lower voltages could be on boards that have vdroop control built in...remember...intel specs chipset design with vdroop.

if you are air cooled then the cpu temp should not really be below what your system temp is running at...

perhaps!...i sent back an excellent QX9650 because of a bad DTS sensor...my replacement is like yours...i get a reliable 1ghz overclock with moderate vcore...i am not a Prime 95, Orthos or OCCT fanatic...i use wPrime 1024M stability bench...it gives me what i need for stability.

keep tweaking but you are probably close to a max overclock that will give you moderate temps.

try setting everything to stock speed and then set your vcore to actual vcore of 1.04v or 1.05v and then run wPrime 1024M bench...i can do that...maybe you won't be able to post at that voltage...my VID is 0.9625 but now with this latest beta, 16.b09, it shows 1.1375....so...try that low vcore to see if you even get into windows at stock speed...set enough vdimm to allow it to post to boot...some sticks need more than other sticks, especially if you are running 4 sticks.

remember, the various bioses will require different set vcores to get a certain target actual vcore....ie, i am using 16.b09..in the bios, i have to set about 0.06v above what i actually need for an idle load and then another 0.03 to 0.04v to account for vdroop to accomplis a bench or wprime.

Question #1 Now, since I have to rip apart an older PC, that has my Silverstone Zeus ST65ZF...should I bother or get another PSU?

Not running no SLI or plan to. Is this Zeus powerful enough?:shrug: It's a serious question, coz this is not my day job and I don't understand it. I just want to connect the dots and go on with my old games and Photoshop.

I see some post with problems with newer/Intel compliant PSU's, I just want to make sure there are enough horses in my PSU to pull me out of the mud.;)

Question #2...since I'm still asking questions:D ....I've read that you need Vista64 to appreciate---for lack of better word---my 4GB Corsair Dominator CM2X2048-6400C5DHX 5-5-5-18 1.80V ver4.1...I prefer XP since I got to many peripherals that are dependent on XP.

Sure Vista got the DX10-or-what-have-you, but I still play original GhostRecon (circa 2002) and Richard Burns Rally (circa 2004)...the newest game I play is COD4---which I've read, doesn't need DX10.

I'm still working on my system, but in doing so I'm a little concerned about my CPU temperatures

BIOS will report between 80c and 100c on my E8400 when going into 3.6GHz range... and the system will shut down when reaching 125 or so with Core Temp. This is with the 16b.09 bios. I forget what version I had before flashing to this bios, but before it reported around a 20-30c temp idling. The CPU cooler is _cold_ to touch (ZeroTherm NV120 w/ AS5) however, so should I ignore these temps and consider it part of the beta bios? Or can a CPU cooler be cold even when the CPU is cooking? I'd hate to reseat it since I fear I may have stripped one of the screws when installing it

Are there known issues with 16b.09 reporting high temps? Is there a known good bios version that reports proper temps on the E8400?

One more thing, and of a separate topic - I can't seem to disable Speed stepping :\ I set C1E and EIST to disabled, then in Vista I ensure the performance is set to high, and then I've drilled down on the separate performance pull down menus and set those all to high as well. CPU-Z will still show bouncing between 6x and 9x... am I missing anything?

I have no problem with the 9 bios and temp/voltage readings on my e8400 (440 x 9 - vcore 1.42 - idle 28c load 50). uGuru is another matter, but it could just be an old version I have installed.

Regardless of the setting in Vista, the BIOS should be controlling c1e/eist. Maybe do a BIOS refresh.

Honestly, it sounds like the cpu cooler is not seated properly. If you stripped one of the screws, you could be getting uneven IHS distribution.

I had my system working ok with 4 1GB sticks, and then I decided to go to 8GB. I can run fine with 2 sticks of OCZ Gold at 4Gb (PC-6400) and recommended 2.1v dimm voltage. But when I add in two more of the same sticks, I can't get into Vista. After the Bios loads, and goes through recognizing the drives, etc. I get an error that the Windows boot manager file Windows\system32\winload.exe is possibly corrupt.

If I take the two new memory sticks out, and system boots fine. I RMA'ed the memory and the two new sticks I got show the same problems, so it's likely something else and not the memory. Since you noted problems with voltages needed for 4 sticks, what should I go for to just get it to get past this point?

My Sig is accurate except it shows the memory I'm still trying to get to work.

first try vdimm of 2.2 to 2.3v to see if that helps with all four sticks...think about air cooling the memory sticks.

what is your "MCH" (memory controller hub, AKA, Northbridge) set to?...you might need 1.52, 1.56 or 1.64...don't forget the Southbridge, AKA, "ICHIO1.5" will need extra help to communicate to all four of those memory sticks...i'd recommend 1.65 to 1.7v, at least.

mezryn, also the P35 chipsets don't do well at 1T speeds, the Nvidia chipsets seem to be able to handle the 1T command rate, but intels chipsets don't gain much with it enabled, and few systems work correctly at that rate.

It can be a little misleading if you're coming from a DDR system as 1T makes a big difference in speed on the first gen DDR systems, but with DDR2 the gain has greatly diminished.

XP SP2 will allow 3.25 gb to be used for installed software as long as you use the PAE (Physical Address Extension) switch

OK - I'll focus on leaving the RAM timings loose at 5-5-5-18 2T until I can get the FSB & CPU stable. Thanks :)

Thanks Ace! I'll try that tonight... was using CPU-Z to see the bouncing. Also, when OCing to 3.6, and I start testing 3dmark06, the video drops to about 50% - per some more researching, I'm assuming I just need to increase the PCIe clock speed to 101. Something should have flagged me to it when I began to lose overclocking potential on my video card - would normally OC it to 750, and was then able to only OC it to 720 after the 3.6GHz OC. Would I ever need to increase it more to 102? Are there other factors I could also then be missing? I know I'm not sharing a lot of details right now about the voltages I'm trying, but it's because I've been spending hours of rebooting/testing voltages and can't give a concrete single number response yet ;)

Need some suggestions.....
For a while now I've been running my IP 35 Pro with an eVGA 7950GX2.
333x9 for 3.0Ghz with DDR2-800.
I recently swapped the 7950GX2 for an 8800GT (512/G92).
when the system is OC @ 3.0Ghz i get the annoying Driver has Stopped Responding (Vista Ultimate-32bit) but when I run at default, the DSR goes away.
The DSR occurs when running 3DM 06, or just about anything else that requires heavy GPU.

Is this something that can be fixed by just throwing more voltage at the NB?

He's talking about when you increase the FSB on some systems, your PCIe link width will drop to 1x. Alot of people have reported that upping the PCIe speed to 101mhz will fix this problem. Dropping the link width that much is enough to drop 3dmark scores by 50%.

Only reason you'd need to goto 102mhz or above is if raising it to 101 doesn't get you back up to 16x link width. Lots of people have tested and really you don't see any improvement at all when increasing even up to 125mhz. Seems it's a waste of time currently to crank that up.. Maybe with triple SLI cards you might have the ability to see some gains.

Wow is this board flaky with the E8400 in it! The vdrop is crazy, The double boot is getting old (Had the board for one night) and I can't get my E8400 over 3.6Ghz without putting insane volts to it. Now with the Vdrop I am not sure if the number in the BIOS is as important as the reading on Coretemp or Uguru but, I would hate to fry the E8400 so soon. I did the heat pipe mod and the temps look good at 39c on both cores and PWM is at 35c in Everest and uGURU system temp is 31c but uGURU reads my CPU temp at 127c!. I updated the BIOS to v.14 but the double boot continues. I read there is a way to fix the double boot by adding /WB to a file in the BIOS but, I can't figure out how to edit it?? I am hoping that the overclocking improves with a new BIOS revision as this (So far) is a step down from the 680i.:(

Ledge, you should probably try out the 16B09 bios that's been released. If you check abit's forums and look in the bios section there is a beta bios thread.

I'm running an E8400 in my IP35 pro and it does a great job. Had issues with temps and voltages not being anywhere close to what I set in the bios for VCore.

Don't give up hope yet, it's a pretty nice board that's very stable once you get it tweaked.

I think I ran into that once when I was running version 14. I was stubborn about upgrading because I had seen a few (honestly only one or two people) complain they had memory problems after upgrading to 16B09. I have cheap memory that I've coaxed good speed and timings out of with little voltage and didn't want to upset the apple cart.

When I was overclocking it I had it once boot up and appeared fine, but after it passed the memory and C1E checks it rebooted and the second time all was fine. Like I said, I didn't see it much and haven't seen it at all since I've been on 16B09.

is it me or the fan pwn for this board is kinda buggy? when i set the low fan speed to 30% it would sometimes run at 600rpm and sometimes doesnt even run at all and when i set it to 50% it runs at 1900rpm and im pretty sure 1900rpm shouldnt be 50%


EDIT: another thing that is weird, when i dled latest uguru (3.1.0.7) but when i look at the about it said i have 3.1.0.3

I had more time for playing last night - thanks for the CMOS clear tip, that fixed the speedstepping issue.

For the 3dmark score drop, I was able to do some pretty concrete testing, and the 50% score drop was an exaggeration but accurate based on my observations during the first test. This is the score I get when I OC to 4GHz (3dmark reports for some reason 4.3GHz)

Each higher OC above 3Ghz would result in a lower and lower score. It went from 9.9, to 9.8, to 9.6, etc. until finally this 9.1 at 4GHz. Imagine my despair :hm: Now, before my wife convinced me it was time for bed, I began playing with the Temperature Control CPU setting (I believe that's what it was called), and with it disabled it would have difficulty booting per intermittent shut downs during the boot process. Increasing vcore/mch did little to alleviate it, and I wonder if it's the Abit Thermalguard kicking in because my CPU temps are reporting between 70 and 95. I'm wondering if the Temperature Control was causing CPU throttling, and hence the higher OCs would cause higher temps, and hence more throttling. Or is this a separate feature altogether?

BTW, increasing the PCIe Clock had no affect - tested 101, 102, 110 and 115. Tested GTLref 63 to 69

I tried your recommendation, and at 2.3v, 1.64v on MCH and ICHIO1.5 at 1.7v and I still can't run. A couple of times it got past the initial loading of Vista, but then blue-screened shortly afterwards.

I can run fine on stock voltages (2.1v for vDimm, MCH on "auto", and ICHIO1.5 at 1.5v) with either the 1st pair of memory sticks I had in slots 2 & 4, or with the 2nd pair of memory sticks in slots 1 & 3. That seems to eliminate both the memory and a possible bad socket on the board as a problem.

Wondering if a different BIOS might be worth trying. Currently on Beta 16.09

When youo setup the fan control, did you let uGuru find the high and low first? I have found that if you do not it can get flakey with the speeds.

it tells me that it is a vista problem with the bios...i would go back to 16.b04 and then try other older bioses.

try using three of your 2gb sticks to see if it boots up normally...two would be in a dual channel and the other in a single channel...if you get into vista, i would definitely say that it is a bios problem with vista when 8gb's are installed.

Mez, what type of CPU cooler do you have? If the CPU is starting to throttle itself because it's getting too hot, you would see a downwards stair step pattern with higher speeds like you're seeing. 95c is pretty darn roasty if that's correct and would most likely be at throttling temps.

Just to update: Silverstone Zeus ST65ZF so far works fine---I'm glad it had the 4-pin adapter next to the 20-pin or else this n00b would have gone bonkers:shakes:

I will try tonight:
1) uninstall uGURU CD-ROM version that came with retail box
2) clear my CMOS again and set the defaults on
3) hopefully understand the Ace's USB flash---i gots no floppies+floppy drive:shakes:
4) flash 16B09 (informed by Hatax:up: )
5) install 3.107 uGuru (informed by Hatax :up: )

about the PAE (Physical Address Extension) switch...I'm not gonna toy with that for now. :p: too much other important things to be concern about memory right now.

I've got a ZeroTherm NV120 (comparable to a TRUE 120) w/ AS5 in an Antec 900, with all fans installed... the cooler is practically cold to the touch... cold air blows out... so yeah, I'm hoping the new BIOS fixes it, else I'll reseat the heatsink as it potentially isn't on there snug - I about stripped one of the screws installing it, so it's a good possibility.

well my high is always set to 100%...

Tsuchiro, by the fact you're listing speeds by percentage I'm guessing you're using the CPU fan header for your CPU cooler. If the fan on that cooler doesn't have a 4 pin power connector you'll need to move it to one of the AUX or SYS headers to get control over it. The CPU header is only meant for 4 pin PWM controlled fans and the board has trouble controlling a 3 pin fan on that header.

intel stock fan has 4 pin plug...that is what the spec was designed for.

it might be already enabled automatically if you have "DEP" enable for windows and services....way to check is to right click on "my computer" and slide down to "properties"...left click and read it on the "general" tab, at the bottom...OR...go into the control panel and double click on "Systems".

Yup the intel stock fan does have a 4 pin plug on it, but I think he's using this cooler from his sig:

And in that review of it they show it only has a 3 pin plug on it, so if he's got it plugged into the 4 pin header he might have problems controlling it. Mine seemed to work on that header at first, but after a few reboots it was either not running at all or was at max.

I had BIOS 11 , I upgraded to BIOS 14 using USB flash drive . I removed the drive . Cleared CMOS at jumper and also at the back . I have abit ip pro

Now everytime I restart I get CMOS checksum error , Defaults loaded .

Untill I press F1 it does not move .

How to get rid of this ?

UDPDATE : set the cmos jumper of the board , removed all the things connected . Replaced the jumper , restarted ,its fine now .

One more query ,

I have abit IP pro ,with BIOS 14 .

1. Even with present BIOS 14 or earlier BIOS 11 , the abit Uguru or everest cannot read the Aux1 ,aux2 and Aux4 fans . Whereas CPU ,sysfan and Aux3 are read correctly . I tried latest uguru also .I tried without uguru also .
In bios i can see the the 3 fans are not read and display NA . Any solution for this ? ,Is these fans not controllable ?

2. Everest shows core1 -35 ,core2-36 ,cpu-23( cpu is 6750 stock setttings ,ambient is 28 c ) ! , even uguru shows the same . Any insights on this and how to fix this ?

I finally found a floppy drive and did flash 16B09.
I rebooted, but now I cannot even get the CD-ROM to start up so I can install the necessary drivers, specially the USB drivers.

In Device Manager, nothing shows up. I was hoping to update the USB driver that way.

I tried connecting the FLASH USB so I can load uGuru 3.107 (in the flash USB), straight after reboot but I get the code 50 = initializing USB, but hangs there for sometime.

If I take off my USB, then reboot, it load to Windows but there's nothing else I could do

After you installed the new bios did you do a reset back to factory defaults either via the jumper / switch or in the bios by loading defaults on the first menu?

It sounds like your cd rom drive is an IDE drive and maybe the IDE controller (JMicron controller) is turned off in the bios. Do a reset to defaults and then check and see if the IDE controller is turned on and it should be found by windows then. If not you've got something strange going on...

Also just so you know in the future, you can use a USB flash drive to boot from and do the bios updates. That's how I do mine and it's alot easier to deal with then a floppy. I use an old 512mb drive for it, not good for too much else. Take a look in Ace-a-rue's signature for a link on how to update the bios, and at the bottom of his post is instructions on where to get the HP format utility and such.

I re-flashed it with B09 and got my CD-ROM back.
So, I load the XP CD-ROM and copied the I386 folder to desktop, in hope of finding my drivers in there.:shakes:

well mine is 4pin pwm controlled..... the AT is 4pin its in one w/o the LED... well it seem to be working fine right now but sometimes its funky

What I was talking about is that there is a button that you click that finds the Maximum/Minimum sppeds the fan will work at. You have to click that first in order for uGuru to work right.

Hey guys,

I've finally been able to get my FSB booting into Windows at 500MHz - the key for me was to change the RAM from Auto to Manual. I had figured since it was running on Auto, it was setting up the timings at 5-5-5-18 like I had been seeing it doing, but I suppose with increasing the FSB it was then attempting to tighten the timings on its own as I noticed it then eventually tried on Auto 4-5-5-18. After manually changing the RAM to use 5-5-5-18 it would then boot to 500MHz (along with some minor voltage changes that would never seem to have much rhyme or reason to them).

My issue at this point is that when I try to complete a 3dmark06 run with 500 FSB, there will be a minor, very quick frame stutter... then it'll increase to more stutters, and then BSOD or hang. There were other options in the RAM settings beyond the first four that I had to leave at Auto... does anybody know what defaults they should read for 5-5-5-18 2T?

Would anything else help with stabilizing the FSB? Is "mch" the only voltage involved with hitting a high FSB? I tried tweaking GTLRef between 60 to 70%. While doing this I'm leaving the CPU at 6x, so it's at 3GHz, and running the RAM 1:1

...after clearing the CMOS again, reset,battery off for 30 sec, reboot, change boot to DVD---which drives me nuts, it shows in BIOS but not in Windows....now I've resulted into Repairing Window...maybe that would help.
Once I get the drivers from Window/Device Manager, hopefully it would recognize my USB thumbdrive, THEN, I could go into flashing thru USB thumbdrive....
...off to work for 8 hrs biting time....then it looks like an all nighter again:shakes:

which original BIOS came with the board version 1.1?:confused:

Well, I got to do some more tweaking last night and the new beta 16.B09 BIOS is the bomb:explode: ! I am now able to OC my E8400 like mad! I hit 4.7Ghz on 1.42v in BIOS 1.40-1.39v after drop but that was unstable but dropping it to 4.5Ghz I was able to run some benches but it still was a little unstable. I still have allot to learn about this BIOS. Does this board not like tight memory trimmings? With the memory at 1080Mhz I could only run 5-5-5-15 and on my 680i I could hit 1170Mhz on 5-4-4-12?

For DVD rom in bios go to integrated peripherals>onboard PCI device and enable storage controller and set controller mode to IDE. Then reboot and your IDE DVD drive should be listed.

doing a windows repair has no affect on using an USB drive to flash the bios in DOS....you have to first format the USB drive and then install the boot commands before even thinking about flashing with an USB drive...second, you have to set the bios to boot from the USB drive which has at least the bios and awardflash.exe on that USB drive...read over my guide at the bottom for flashing with USB drives.

Hi Ace i need your advice as you seem to know everything i want to know and more :up: . So is it possible to back up my raid 0 config with another single hdd or run two raid 0 configs on the same system so i can run duel boot up. And if so how do i do it????

when on initial install of XP and everything on retail CD-ROM, everything was working fine...except the uGuru in Windows, it would close itself...only accessible in BIOS (including Abit EQ).

then I thought about the flashing.

that was the original problem...I didn't have a floppy drive...until I realized I got an older Win98PC that has a floppy drive.

that worked until I flashed it with the 16.B09.

after reboot, no clearing of CMOS, it booted fine but my DVDROM (via IDE) would not autoplay at first....then on 2nd reboot, DVDROM was no longer in My Computer...I checked the Device Manager...nothing would show inside it.

I cleared CMOS, took off battery, ate something (15 mins), reinstalled battery, reboot, C1 came on, went to Windows, but still no DVDROM in My Computer.

Rebooted, DVDROM was in BIOS.

So I went, 1st boot DVDROM (WinXP CD-ROM), Repair Windows, entered my XP ser no., went to Windows, Device Manager showed everything, error was in the JMicron driver not installed, but cannot install driver coz, the DVDROM is not showing.

Now I insert USB thumbdrive, recognized, did the HPTool prior to that, d/l 14.B06??? (in Ace's link) and may flash that tonight after work (8hrs and counting:rofl: ).

I'm curious, should I just subtract 10-15c and go with it? Also, where is this temp sensor located?

which temp sensor are you referring to?

uguru cpu temp will be about 10-13C lower than coretemp...i believe in coretemp...i think abit and other board makers try to approximate Tcase temp versus absolute temp that coretmep reports from the DTS sensors embedded in the cores.

If your board will let you set the raid controller to only certain ports there is an easy way to cheat. Make a disk to disk image of your current HD onto an external using ghost or like utility. After you've got it on that HD, setup the raid on the ports with the HDs you wish to run in raid. Make sure the extra HD containing your backup is set to bootable and boot from it. Once in the OS it should find your raid controller and look for drivers for it, get the drivers installed, reboot once more to make sure that the OS sees the raid controller.

Reboot and go into the raid controller config, from there setup the raid as you'd like (striping or mirror) and get the array built. After it's built and ready to go, boot into your disk imaging utility again and re-image the backup HD onto the raid array. Go into the bios and set the raid to be the first bootable HD and to make sure it's all happy I would shut down the backup HD at this point. You should be able to boot from the raid controller at this point and you will have moved the OS easily.

This has worked on a few systems for me, normally the easiest route as it only takes an hour or two to do it all. If this doesn't work you've always got the option of trying to slip the drivers into the OS before you image it or by using the SYSPREP utility and add in your own drivers (The raid controller drivers)

"CPU" shows up as the same temperature in uguru as well. It was much lower on the previous BIOS, which fell in line with the 10-13c lower than coretemp. Going from what you've said about this reading being an approximation, I really have nothing to worry about. It was way off before, and still is. :shrug:

Hardware monitor and coretemp show about the same for the 4 cores, and i'm not worried about those readings. PWM has a fan over it now and idles at 38c instead of 55. :yepp:

I downloaded all of Neely's posting on all drivers related to my XP and uGuru 3.107
THEN, I added some protection: free AVG,free AVG-Anti-Spyware, free SpyBlaster, latest CPU-Z, & latest version of FireFox.

I'm still trying to figure which software I could use to capture screenshots: Should I go with Gimp?:confused:

I don't OC so I'll just take some screenshot and y'all tell me what setting should I be using if y'all see something that's not supposed to there:D

Hmm, kinda confused here. Gimp is a program normally used on linux, and is for the editing of a picture. You shouldn't need any additional software to get this done.

You can do a screen capture really easily in windows, just layout the screen how you'd like and press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Then goto the built in Paint program (Under accessories) and goto edit -> paste. Answer yes to have the bitmap enlarged and voila, you've got your screen shot you can save as a JPG or GIF or whatever.

Guy's I’m have some issues with the onboard audio. I've done a search in this thread but can’t seem to find anyone with the same problem.
I cannot get the Realtek to install, the installer from the CD rom that came with the motherboard runs ok, but there’s no audio listed under windows (I've run the install twice now)!

How do you install it and get it to work? This is a brand new install of windows XP SP3 (only other drivers I have installed are for the graphics card)

In BIOS I have "OnChip Audio Controller" Enabled!

Only other card I have installed at present is an EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS (512-P3-E841-AE-CrysisUK)

Any Ideas ?

could be a problem with XP SP3 interfering with the install...

to eliminate a bios corruption problem, i would clear CMOS with the battery out for about 5 minutes...don't forget to unplug the PSU power cord and push on the power button to unload the caps.

I’ve been looking through a load of the IP35 forums and everyone is going into so much detail I can’t seem to get the basic information for a small overclock.
My last system I had was an ASUS P5B and I struggled to get that to run at stock and was hoping I would have more luck with the Abit BIOS.

Anyway any information would be really appreciated indeed, by system spec is as follows;
Abit IP35 (not PRO)
Q6600 Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8000C5 1000MHz ReaperX
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS
Western Digital Raptor

How long does an rma usualy take? I am still waiting to get confirmation from Komplett that they tested the IP35 Pro I sent back to them 3 weeks ago. They confirmed that they recieved the motherboard 9 days after I posted it to them but I havent heard back from them with almost 2 weeks now.

my coretemp is 21~23 idle 49~51 max load - orthos stable 2 hours and my vcore is set to 1.49 vdimm 2.125 ?

i'm stable yes , but , am i pushing it too much ? or it is just safe to run 24/7 this way ?

If you are in the UK then abit RMA direct usually quote 9-10 working days but often do it well inside that.
As for RMA with Komplett ...:shrug:

Hey guys, i have a question. i'm putting together a new system in a few days, but my cpu fan wont' arrive until next week probably. i'm getting a wolfdale e8400 cpu with the abit ip35 pro. here's the question: would it be risky to use the Thermalright ultra 120 extreme heatsink without any cpu fan for a few days? i read in one review that this particular heatsink provides better cooling than the stock hsf's that come with intel processors.

I think you'll be fine. I wouldn't push it until you get a fan though. For general use at stock the TRUE will do just fine.

if you are using windows XP, you can monitor your temps with "coretemp" program...

GripS is probably right about the TRUE heatsink handling the cpu heat at stock settings without a fan....BUT...why can't you even put a small fan blowing on the heatsink or install a small fan close to the heatsink which is blowing on the heatsink from a distance?

I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, and I've given up, from what I've heard that it makes very little difference if any, and it's only for squeezing that last drop of OC out of a processor, for most mediocre OCs it won't make much of a difference at all.
But what do I know, I am sure Ace-a-Rue has a much better explanation

how does increasing voltages other than cpu + mem (mch, cpu vtt etc) affect the lifespan of the board/chip/memory ?
I dont know what any of them are exactly so am just increasing them randomly, small steps, hoping its all ok
theres only so many options to adjust them by so is it safe to have them to whatever it allows you to adjust them to ?
any advice people ?

cpu + mem is e8400 and gskill pc28000

any help people, im anxious to get this working :cool:

got in to windows at 1.355v 4ghz but orthos crashed after 5 secs

i think it needs more volts for the cpu as i tried more and stress test lasted a little longer

but i dont wanna mess with these other volts until i have some form of idea what they're for, and safe limits for them :)

ICHIO is to high

does the ip-35 pro like 4 gigs overclocked??? im at 3.2 so far with a e6750 & 2 gigs ram 2x1 gig sticks. i want to add 2 gigs more also board is on stock bios so far because that bios flashing thing is tricky looking to me ... :shrug:
