Charlie, from what i've seen, the X2s benefit more from IHS removal than Venices/SDs do. Maybe because the core is so big, there is a higher chance that part of it is making bad contact? Anyway, if your load temps exceed 50 with conventional cooling, chances are removing the IHS will help a significant amount.
im going to hazard a guess it's not, but that's based on a small theory of mine. Post your results here, and tell us how you do with it though.Quote:

Is there a definitive way to tell this by CPU markings or software?Quote:

I was able to do this, but core0 failed

wow dood I wish mine will be able to do that when I can throw some volts at her, im currently on a 3800 doin 2.5 default volts so im guessin this shouldnt be a problem with me, and if I decide to go top down i think i might be in 3ghz mark :)
3 Ghz on air? Good luck buddy!
Here's 2.7 Ghz with 1.39 volts

sorry but your SP is not set uo correctly...
yeah i know it isn't set up perfectly. My first stop with the overclock was 2.65 Ghz! And from there it was a 1/2 hour test at each frequency until i maxed it out. So 2.65, 2.70, 2.75, 2.80, 2.83 (took a detour here), 2.85, etc. So many of my earlier tests have no affinity checked. I can try to re-run them over teh weekend...
my X2 OC's a lot better with 1GB of ram compared to 2gb of ram... I mean higher mHz, not higher memory speed!!!
A little MUSHKIN REDLINE action :D

default hs/f...25C ambient 1.61v
My ram timings blow, this one came out to 29.89

That'd be 27s if you had some BH5/UTT to run at 268, 2-2-2...Quote:

What mobo did you have beforehand?
I got a few questions for you guys here, I dont know about steppings and all and mine seems wierd to me, Heres a linky
Steppings
It does 2.5 with 1.35 So a 500 mhx overclock at no vilt increase seems good to me but does anyone here know if these steppings are wierd or what? I mean the ccwbe part rest seems ok
I have a CCBWE 0529SPMW that does 2.5 GHz at 1.31V so far testing now. Prime stable for 24 hours with two instances.Quote:

Mines also a toledo core whats urs?
These 3800 seem to really overclock well. Almost makes me want to ditch the 4400 and try one of these. AlmostQuote:
