go get the new version of CPUZ. I think it's at 128.6 now. It has support for the venice cores. It doesnt say on the site what sub version it is, so you just have to download the 128 version again.

good question. I'd say post in the Official Venice OC Thread unless you get something really great like 2.9 Ghz air stable(that would be one hell of an overclock from 1.8!!). At that point you could probably even post it in the Extreme OC section or jsut make a thread here.
But for the most part, stick it in the Official thread. thats what its there for and trust me, plenty of people be seeing your accomplishements.
Comon give it hell, ive found that most 3000+'s can manage the same as their big brothers in winnies but i hope your board can handle 300HTT atleast :toast:
I want my 3700+ Sandy :(
Just use the Official thread to post your results. How's it clocking so far?Quote:

OH yeah baby, you did it :toast:
The first person of the forum to put the hands in a venice I think.
Test the over and show to us please :slobber:
I tell you what , that 3000+ should be very very good from its info I can tell.:D

Looks like the same stepping as most of the initial venice cpus reviewed.
Hope i get a PAW.
You know what? OPB's right. The stepping and pack date on your cpu seems to be in the range of the two Venices I had which were both reviewed here at XS. They seem to OC a little better than the ones which are shipping with the later pack dates (0513+):Quote:

Just ordered a 3800 venice from monarch cause from the info I could find extra cache only gives about 5% more performance in actual games (NOT benches like 3d01) and I have faith that my 3800 will have 10% higher clocks than san diego. I always seem to get the best chips, happened many, many times before. Dumb luck I guess. Plus I really do not want to wait the extra week ;) . Still really based on luck, some 3700 will be better than 3800s, some not.

No, actually the guy said they only had a handful of them. So they had more than one or they wouldn't have put it up on their website for sale. I just wonder why they had them and monarch didn't. Makes ya wonder.Quote:

I too am very excited about this new AMD core. I ordered my 3800 venice from ncix yesterday-so I'm hoping to have that piece of bad-ass silicon strapped to my mobo any day now. I'm not much of a OC'er but when I heard about this new core -lets just say it definitely peaked my enthusiasm and drained my wallet. I was going to go out and buy a water cooling setup kit-but after reading MaxxxRacer's guide to cooling things became more clear and expensive. So I'll keep it on air till I can save $$$ for a proper water cooling setup.
I lasted 4 years without a upgrade-they got to me again.
This is a great site! lots of good people and info-glad to be aboard.
welcome to XS couch!!! Good to see you wanting to get back into the upgrade/OC game. You'll find everything you need somewhere on these forums. so kick back and stay a while. :toast:
So is San Diego 3700+ going to ship on Friday or not?
