Quick stupid question, I have a 940 using the RIIIE, I have the multi at 23 in the bios and seem to not break 4gig with high voltage. I can run 3.8ht on at only 1.3v stable linx but cant get stable at 4gight on air near 1.38-1.40
Do you recommand multi 22? Is that possibly my problem?

Hi Guys- I'm new at XS.
I just bought a backlit PS/2 DECK Legend keyboard and LOVE it... but to my surprise, when I shut off my RE3E rig... the backlighting never shut off on the keyboard. I tapped a few keys thinking that I might have inadvertantly played with a wake-on-keyboard or some such in the BIOS while I was in there.. and nothing.
Now I don't remember a PS/2 keyboard staying powered like this... Is there somewhere in the BIOS that you know of that will shut down the PS/2 port of shut down? Oh and Yes - when I say shut down I mean shut down - not hybernate.
When a board is shut down it's still receiving power. That's why the RIIIE glows even when it's turned off. Do you have a master switch on your PSU? That will kill it!Quote:

Its the same on mine. You can set PS/2 keyboard to power on the unit with selection of pre-programme key stroke in the BIOS.Quote:

Running LinX/IBT/P95 with the pre-programed 4.2 crazy OC in BIOS can't go. All produce error or BSOD. BIOS 0704 Beta was like getting corruption with some error on POST and asked for a USB.
I had defaulted the BIOS and reinstall win7 on a HDD now with very clean win7. No apps. And then start OC again. Its getting stability back, solid P95 10hr follows with Linx 5hr. Playing it patience and safe, i would power off the PSU everytime a BIOS setting is changed and rebooted, to get a totally clean nice POST and startup.
Only problem I am constantly getting is at POST, it report RAM at 4GB rather than 6. Reseat doesn't work. Give the RAM a little more Volts does not help. XMP enabled. After a few cold power cycle, it will come back with 6GB.
To looks like R3E and G.Skill Trident is incompatible in my case.
Tried lowering multi but had to use slow qpi link, still low gflop :shrug: . This is as close to 4500 as I can get to pass any linx with 19 multi.

I understand having spend a lot of time tweaking to get stable or to reach a certain oc for benching, but to have to spend so much time just to try and get it to run "normal" IMO is :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing rediculous, especially for the premium price we had to pay. Well FOO. I was hoping there would be a way in the BIOS to shut downt he PS/2 port with the rest of the system. I've found on some systems, SOME USB ports remain hot after shut down, but I've not dealt with a PS/2 keyboard in a decade. Time to get creative I guess. I've got a Fortress 2 case which makes the actual power switch a bit of a pain in the arse.Quote:

What do you think about Foxconn BloodRage compared to RIIIE guys ?

The BR is a solid board, especially when you do the PCIe mod that allows you to adjust the PCIe bus speed. This allows you to get above the 220BCLK wall, check my sig. That being said these boards are in two different worlds. You can usually get a BR for around the $220 range. The RE3 will allow you to do much more, has USB 3.0 and SATA 6, it's built for extreme overclocking, allows for tri-SLI or tri-CF, has 6 memory slots, remote overclocking, BT and a crap load more features. If you feel the RE3 is too much board for what you do, then take a look at the Asus P6X58D, at least you will get an updated board that does really well in overclocking and has Asus support.

Another thing to check: Is GFlops REALLY LOW?
1. CPU core temp should be several Celsius lower, if GFlops is really low;
2. Linpack GFlops calculation might be screwed.
For example, if you use SetFSB/Turbo-V to change frequency in Windows, the reported GFlops is wrong.

I clocked the 980X up to 4Ghz (sample needs a whopping 1.4Vcore lol) and got 57-58Gflops §6GB 1600C8 on Win7 64), I see Gautam with 980X at 4.7 having only 51Gflops... Where's the diference ? OS dependant, RAM clocks, timings ?? I don't do LinX but seems results are varying from hardware to hardware, OS install...
Recalling some mobo's had issues with Prime95 (yet were perfectly benchable and stable for folding and co lol) Could be some bios code that messes stuff up... time will tell...
