Just flashed 0503 and I don't see any difference so far nor have I experienced any problems.
I previously did the same on my deluxe - used Asus update flash as I was in a hurry with the same results under Vista X64. Still I also got the premium which is a better board - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...eply&p=2424177 you should be able to get the best out of your quad on it. BIOS 0204 is latest for this board by the way. EZflash with USBstick worked fine.
@sesdave
Did asus give you the premium in place? Or did you take a 200$ hit?
Just received my P5K Deluxe back from Asus service. My RMA was exactly 2 weeks from when I shipped it (FedEx). Same serial number returned. I too lost my board in a bios mishap, (was flashing from 202 to 501). Asus gave me a RMA number, and in the email was a link to check status of the repair. No problem, other than I was itching to use my new board. And board was returned with the 202 bios. Had to flash the 501 to use my Q6600. Was a little nervous aftere what happened the first time...
I RMA'd to my UK retailer SCAN who gave me a full refund - very nice of them as I thought I was going to be out of pocket. I pointed out that I was not the only one who have had flash failure on the deluxe MB. Its not asus flash - I have used Asus update many times on the P5W DH with no problems but after the failure on a MB with a soldered chip I will always flash from dos or use ezflash with a USB stick from now on.
I have found nothing new for 0503 bios. Except maybe the Robson option missing in bios. My E6850 temps are still erratic, bad detected. In bios it shows even 17-20 degrees Celsius (when i have 30 degrees as room temperature). Even disabling all the options in CPU settings from bios, and i still get strange values (like CPU temp beeing much higher then core temps). Strange, i wonder what's Asus thinking. I paid premium price (260 bucks) for something that even an Asrock bought with 50 bucks can do. Just stoopid...
Intel Robson only shows up when drives are configured AHCI or RAID I believe.
oh well, as they say... if it aint broke... will stick with 404 bios for now... i'm at 3212Mhz(357 x 9) orthos stable (8hrs++) at 1.288V idle. with max temp of 59C. will just move along while waiting for my ballistics to arrive... Cheers
I wonder if the newest board have a new revision or still 1.00G?
ChaosMinionX - the Latest BIOS for Premium is Beta 0302 - you can get it from rapidshare. This thread page has a post with a link.

Am usaing raid & can confirm that Intel Robson is gone.
I'm still on 311 and it's been rocking along no problem since may at 3.6ghz. What could I gain by going to 503? I'm not using raid or a quad.
I believe 311 timings in NB are pretty loose... latter BIOS's have tighter timings in NB IIRC so you would have to re tweak your RAM settings probably.
Flashed from shipped 0123 BIOS shipped with it to 503 and no problems.
Only problems with setting RAID0 up on XP X86. Keeps asking for matrix stroage driver after it's formatted the drives
You need the Iastor.sys and PNP drivers and whatnot for Raid to work properly on intel controllers... did you F6?
I did it all. In the end i made my own XP disc with them in Via nLite.
There is no need for a floopy drive these days, they have got to stop making the need
Now my problem is sound, it keeps asking for a Windows bus. Anyone?
How can I enable this LargeSystemCache feature if it helps (even with my processor?)?
Also, do you know of any additional XP tweaks to make the thing faster :)
you could do the L2 cache tweak, performance is negligible at best in your perception of it, but I like to do it so I know ;)
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
SecondLevelDataCache is what your looking for. Then you will need to enter a hex number for it.
Conroe's with 4MB of L2 = Hex 1000 = 4096KB
Kentsfield's with 8MB of L2 = Hex 2000 = 8192KB
You may also edit the DWORD, and change it to decimal instead of HEX and enter the actual amount of L2 present, instead of using 1000 or 2000 to set.
If you have any doubt in how much L2 is present, please consult CPU-Z or ask on here for assistance so you dont break something :)
This applies to XP and Vista.
Thanks! I'll write that one down in case I format or so. Is this the so called LargeSystemCache-change?
