EDIT #2..
Last night I lowered the multi and started upping the htt to find the max of the ram .. I managed to pass 8+hours of prime at 290x9 with the same settings and voltages in my sig..
http://img54.imageshack.us/img54/87/untitled7iz.th.jpg
290 seems like the max prime stable speed.. I did get 295 to prime for an hour but thats it..
As many others experience, my first pair of Ballistix could do 300MHz prime and SuperPI stable at 2.9V. Sudenly after 2 months they started to show errors. RMAed to Newegg and got a new pair. Well now this new kit is having hard time to pass 285MHz :slapass:
WTF very expensive memory now just performing poor range. Not sure if I should RMA them again...
May get an even worse pair
I need me some ballistix!
LOL complaining about pc 4000 memory doing 285Quote:

It just means that they were very lucky
Remember, pc 4000 is supposed to do 250...
I have noticed that there is a stability issue using memory dividers if you have a pair of ballistix with a large max FSB differenece, ie. one doing 260 and another doing 285+.
For instance I had a pair that one did 285 stable and another doing <260, in that setting 200 and 183 was usable but no other (except 100). I would get reboot cycles when entering windows if I even got that far.
I managed to get a more evenly matched set where each did 275 and no more problems.
Just speculation however, it might just have been one of the sticks being bad with memory dividers.

Just a quick note to all of you since I was among the first adopters of the Ballistix 2x1GB kits.
Apparently one stick flaked out randomly on me about a month ago, very strange random blue screens and finally after extensive testing found one stick to be bad slightly.
Even at defaults speeds etc it would sometimes show memtest errors, it was tough to troubleshoot because I put each stick on another PC (Intel based) and ran memtest 8 hrs no errors.
Crucial was quick to respond and RMA both sticks as the KIT, since then not one BSOD or failures. Hopefully this helps someone in the future that might have the same type of issue.

I've got them yesterday from Newegg and haven't played around too much yet. I'm sure after more buring they will do better. I already like them a lot since they auto detect 2-3-2-5-1T on my DFI Ultra-D. After I RMA'd a pair of crappy OCZ OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K that didn't go past 208 at 3.0v and auto detected 2.5-3-2-5-1T I'm going to stick with these.

I can't speak for Stauncher obviously, by my experience so far with the same sticks has been that 2.5v-2.65v is optimal and that anything more just increases instability and errors.Quote:
