haven't tried that... make sure you clear the cmos and have everything hooked up right. sometimes this board can be a little picky
Wow okay, it didn't boot till I plugged in a HD. Won't boot off an old PCI I had or a 8800GT, working off a x1300 ATI card though. Picky board for sure. The OBEY logo is hilarious though.

Newegg does not update details of motherboards and many motherboard manufactures do not update their web sites and the only way to know what a board supports is to check the BIOs updates and even then you sometimes have to download the BIOS and hope for a text file or decompile the BIOS. In my experience Gigabyte is the best at getting it done.
I found out after buying that that link is for the S4985-E version board here is the link for the S4985 which is $199 on Newegg.Quote:

Pros: As one reviewer previously noted, the BIOS program for S4985, S4985-SI and S4985-E are one and the same. So I implore all of you, whether you just got this board or have been its proud owner for many months, please update its BIOS to v3.02. Despite what the Tyan website may say that v3.00 and above are only for Istanbuls and Shanghais, this is NOT true! I have Opteron 8354s (Barcelona cores) and BIOS v3.02 can initiate the cores just fine! And of course, this BIOS update WILL allow this board to initiate Opteron Istanbuls and Shanghais (AMD AGESA upgrade in BIOS).

Also, when I upgraded to a Shanghai 8493 3.1 GHz, Win 7 only read that it was clocking at ~2.5 GHz. But once upgraded to 2.07 (will probably upgrade to 3.02) and enabling certain settings in the BIOS, worked and got Win 7 to read 3.1 GHz.
Maybe Newegg is now shipping the newer version?

On my motherboard i have 4xopty 8218 and i use an thermaltake purepower expess 650w ( Full 12v psu ^^ ).
But... i have a new problem ...I cant acces to the bios, when the system start and that i put DEL the system are blocked on : " Entering Setup" .... After ten minute i shut down....
Have you an idea ?
And where can i DL the last bios ?
