in my opinion P6T DLX/P6T DLX V2 and P6TD DLX's life cycles is at the exactly same time frame.

you still haven't....i think what angelreaper do is he/she :shrug::D cross flashed P6T DELUXE V2 w/ P6TD DELUXE bios (CMIIW "angelreaper".).

if you try to cross flashed V1 w/ V2 or P6TD bios,,it will work but, maybe,,,just maybe you will lose the function of 2 "EXOTICA":D SAS-SATA ports..

I have Asus P6T Deluxe V2, and I'm running 4.2GHz primestable with 1.350vcore, with 0006 bios crossflashed.

Can someone please post the link for 0007 bios?

Evanesco: The 0006 bios came after and is dated later than the 0007 bios. 0006 replaced the 0007 bios and it fixed a few issues that 0007 had with Xeon chips, etc. Someone should contact Asus and teach them how to count forward instead of backwards. :)

Any P6T Deluxe bios you can download directly from the Asus site will have problems with Turbo throttling at full load when pushed hard. If you don't want Turbo throttling then you need to use one of the special bios versions like 0006 for the v1 or cross flashed to the v2. Asus continues to work on more special bios versions for other boards in the P6T family.

Can you post a screen shot of that? Run Prime95 Small FFTs and include CPU-Z and i7 Turbo in your screen shot.

If you are able to keep your core voltage low and the heat down then you can stay under the turbo throttling limit. At 4.2 GHz, I think you are getting very close to the point where at full load, your multiplier will start to cycle between 21X and 20X. i7 Turbo will clearly show you when it's time to upgrade to bios 0006.

I guess it's the missing floppy support. That's a rather stupid bug. I don't see any sense in dropping floppy drive support, they would rather not put the controller on the board and save a few cents in the first place instead of deciding "Oh, we're just not supporting it anymore..."

As if the old floppy drive support required maintenance... :ROTF:

I diddnt find a thread for the p6t vanilla or the p6t se, so I guess its ok to use this one.

I just bought the p6t se and im having issues with my xeon w3520. It needs 1.36 core voltage, 1.35 qpi and 1.88 cpu pll voltages to be stable at 4ghz with ht on, lowering any of those voltages causes prime 95 to crash after a while. When I read posts here and on other forums I cant seem to find another D0 that takes this much voltage to be stable at 4ghz, especially the qpi and CPU pll voltages seem high for 4 ghz.
I run the memory at low speed with relaxed timings and I use the 21x multiplyer. Using the 18x multiplyer the board does 205+ bclk using 1.20 qpi voltage so the board should not have a problem with 191+ bclk. The cpu when running prime does not get hotter than mid to high 70s with my TRUE so that should not be an issue ither. All voltages exept the above mentioned are kept at the suggested minimum/default.

Does someone have some ideas where my system is failing or is my w3520 simply totally wank?

A small update
Two things seem to have been the issue. The first was my not so flat TRUE wich made the pressure on the cpu uneven, lapping it made cpu pll voltage over 1.80v unnecessary.
The second was the loadline calibration that seem to be on when using the default setting. My cpu diddnt like that one at all, lots of more vcore seem to be needed. With llc off 1.312v vcore (load) is fine for 21*191, qpi voltage still have to be over 1.325 or prime will go banana sooner or later.
My xeon dosnt seem to be a gem but now at least its in line with what you could expect from a DO

Would anyone please be able to point me in the direction of the 0006 bios (and possibly a guide for the crossflashing) i would be very greatful :)

Also, angelreaper, if you're cross flashing how are you doing it? BIOS file itself is too big for a floppy....???

Just changed a 920+Gskill 1600 for a 3540+Perfect storm 2000 and got no multies in BIOS to use correctely the memories :down:
