Man, I need to get back into this thread...
Yes, same with me. I have two days off work so I'll be able to get some shots in.
It goes without saying that your shot is awesome ANP :p: There are some seriously sweet other pictures here too!
Anemic, sorry. I know what you mean about work. Although, working at a bar outside in Zürich isn't so bad when you get to make as many drinks for yourself as you can when nobody is looking. Martini Bianco looks a hell of a lot like Sprite, as does white wine and Sprite. Eristoff Vodka also happens to be identical to water. :D
I'm thinking about getting a prime lense, a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4G to be exact. Thoughts?
Everyone is busy it seems, but we all need to get back ;).
Thanks inCore. The Nikkor 50 1.4 is amazing lens, I love the bokeh on it, its crisper then the Sigma 30 1.4, but the contrasts are amazing on the Sigma, and the sharpness and IQ is just a tad lower then the nikkor, but you get a bit wider focal for landscapes. Depends on your needs, you want it for Landscapes ?

first try with external flash...next time 2 flashes and more time :-D
Eaglerock, just keep em coming! Seems like you got the grip on your 40D real fast. I'm pissed I don't have enough time to get out (currently writing my bachelor thesis)...
An older one. Minimalistic, but somehow I really like this picture.

# Camera Model = Canon EOS 450D
# Lens: EF-S 18-55 IS
# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/50 second = 0.02 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 4/1 = F4
# ISO Speed Ratings = 200
# Exposure Bias (EV) = -1/3 = -0.33
# Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
# Focal Length = 18/1 mm = 18 mm
What's that picture of? That's awesome!
That's the roof of a subway station in Bochum. Glad you like it :)
Here's one where you can see a bit more of the station:

I usually use my 18-55 for landscapes and I think that with a 30 I'd be annoyed with the lacking width. The picture that I posted below was also taken at 18mm. I'd rather have more of an all-rounder, something that can also be used for portraits. I'd hate to think about how close I'd have to get with a 30. :p: Also, the Sigma is around 100 Swiss francs (90 USD) more expensive than the Nikon.
How are Macro shots actually on these lenses? Most images that I've seen taken by the Nikkor are from further away.
Anyways, here's my picture of the day, another view of Zürich, this time during sunset.

Model = Nikon D60
Exposure Time = 1/125"
F Number = F5.6
ISO Speed Ratings = 180
Exposure Bias Value = ±0EV
Flash = No Flash
Focal Length = 18mm
If Nikon D60 is a 1.6 crop so 30mm should be around 50mm so it will be the same as what your eyes can see not so bad for portraits.
