Has anyone paired this with the EK Supreme?
Printable View
Just rebuilt my watercooling and removed the passive cooling and replaced the mosfets cooler with thermalright coolers and a EK block for NB. Now when i trying to start the computer the fans and harddrive spinns up but nothing more happens. On the lcd poster it first says welcome and after that when i have turned on the computer a clock just ticking on and no more. Have tried to clear cmos and removed the battery but same :banana::banana::banana: happens again and again. I can get acces to the tweakit function while the computer is turned off and the fsb is set on 430 but itīs seems that i dont can change it. Have tried another graphiccard and only one memory but nada. Can someone help me please, i hope i dont need a rma :/
big thanks to zlojack & Kensek my Q9650 is now @ 450x9 :)

and now i just want to check with you guys if all my voltages are is the safe side, and also how to get CPU GTLVerf values, i remember it has something to do with the VID my CPU VID is 1.2375 so can anyone help ?
it will work but you would have to change the Supreme mounting bolts to something like this :

Ok here is where I am at the moment.
Super PI still crashes on 32M test but I can now get through 1 Hour of OCCT.

Edit: Have now run 12 hours of prime95 so i guess i am ok?

Any thought on how I can improve things would be of help.
Cheers
Problem solved. it was the 8pin that was messing up everything. Noticed that when i tried another powersupply :)
Very pleased with the NB temp now when i put the block directly on the IHS.

Was around 45 degrees before with orginal cooling and the block ontop instead of the ROG block.
I tried a quad in a rampage yesterday, and I must say that it gave me the best results overall of any board I've tried. We've all seen the screaming dual core FSB action, but it's just as impressive with quads IMHO. Almost all of the P45 boards will deliver this sort of front side bus, but I don't believe that any can deliver this kind of memory performance concurrently. Thanks to revogamer for most of the settings; major changes I made were vdimm at 2.18v, vNB at 1.75v, and of course the ram settings you see below. This is fully 3D stable as well.

haha, no problem ;D nice oc there!
this is the best i can do on air :

waiting for BitsPower to release the RE block(s)
Has anyone any info on the Bitspower NB/SB water block?
Also what sort of temps are safe for the south bridge? mine seem to be around 40 - 45 C.
Any 8600 users be kind of enough to shoot me some pics of your bios settings...Iam trying to get mine to 4500mhz..and just wanted to verify i have dud cpu...Iam using the Gskill Pi memory and 2x4870x2's 1200 watt silverstone..All watercooled...
is it normal to see this kind of vdrop :

from 1.32 to 1.25 under load ?
im trying to avoid using LLC for better stability .
Avoid LLC for better stability? I always have it at auto which is probably the same as enabled and i don't have any stability issues.
Anyone tried this board under a original vapochill LS ? Thinking about the component under the cpu socket on the back. Will that be a problem ?
I'm not running a Vapochill but a LD SS Unit and all I did was add another piece of Armaflex/Neoprene (same height as chip, maybe a little taller) on the back side with a hole cut out for the chip, packed it with dielectric grease and haven't had a problem. Hope this helps.:D

Me too. I'm running at 4200 very stable with prime 95 and intelburn but I crash with SuperPI at 32M. I think my ram is holding me back.

Any ideas how to get SuperPI to stop crashing? FYI it even crashes at stock clock speeds for ram and CPU. (32M) Vista 64
I have just tested a few E8600a together with 0601-BIOS and G.Skill. For me the most stable setting is 400-strap and the second fastest divider.
http://loppmarknader.se/blossas_albu...sp32m_8_26.JPG
The other dividers seems very much more unstable. I have not tested much with 333-strap but up til now that regardsless of what divider I choose, the system gets unstable before reaching 600MHz FSB.
As my BIOS was just wiped out due to a system crash I cannot give you much more info at the moment. *sorry* I can post my future findings though.
EDIT: Dont mind the vcore, it is just me being too lazy to lower it. ;)
Nice Blossa, i assume you know 3/5 on 400 strap is 2/3 effective ?
Well with the 601 bios i couldnt for the life me get 500x9 stable no matter what i tried...heck it wouldnt even post...I flashed down to the 403 bios and all is good so far...all with the same settings the 601 wouldnt post at...I havint ran any super pi yet but ran a few 3dmrks...
Yes, i know. But it is still the most stable divider for me. :)
0301 worked rather ok for me. I did not have it very long but the time I had it I had no issues. Then I flashed to 0601 and all was ok. But after I lost the BIOS in a crash and had to reflash it it does not feel that well anymore... Bad flash maybe? Atm the board is resting without battery.
Thought so m8. Had same here board likes it a lot.
Going to spray the board today, and will get on to mounting mine tomorrow. Will see how it goes:DQuote:
