Most excellent stuff hipro5 :)
I might be playing one of these mobos tomorrow. Will most likely use my old trusty 1.6A for some high FSB testin. dont know if this mobo can actually beat my P4T533-C running at 180+ 4X RDRAM but in any case it should be an interestin mobo to play with :)
I have a 1.6a that does 2.72ghz on low end air with 1.72-1.75 volts. Wow do I wish I had a Prommy and a granite bay mobo to play with :(
Macci, what does your 1.6a do? I remember a while back you hit really high with your magic cpu.
DOes 3200MHz SuperPi stable aircooled w/ cold air Vcore 1.95V :)
3470MHz w/ R404 vaporphase cooling.
what's air temps?Quote:

i need it to compare with my 1600..
it can do 3200 stable (3dmark, spi and all) at 1.95v like yours, but with watercooling and 3° water, but think that temps under P4 are not so important... winbond HW monitor indicate aprox 24° idle if i remember right..
Air temp -6C
so our cpu seems to be similar, but i haven't any phase change cooling :( yet :pQuote:

wow, now i see, you are first!!! congrats macci!!! dry ice cooling for cpu&gpu??
hipro
are u still using d 2700 kingston? if ever how r u cooling it?
THanks bro :) yup dryice all over the place :D
anyway to do it on an AMD?
Thanks macci..... :toast:Quote:

It's a Very fast Mobo indeed......It is very stable and the Fastest Mobo I've worked with since the ASUS CUSL2-C for P3......You should try it .....RECOMENTED..... ;) :D
No ..... I'm with 2x 256Mb Kingson Value Rams DDR400(PC3200) with Winbond -5ns chips on board cooled by Thermaltake Cooper heatsinks......The PC2700 is on my ABIT Mobo now......I COULDN'T find another on of those to put them both on my ASUS GB Mobo.....SAD......Quote:

hipro5, have you tried PCMark mem bench yet?
You should be able to beat my score of 10289 ;)
With my Geforce4 440MX ritgh????......You're kiding.....!!!!
No way to reach 10000 with this VGA Card man......!!!!!.....Only 9600 somewhat...... :)
Hehhe well I 'only' ti4200 for that score =)
BUt yes your quite right.. just checked the orb and highest DDR score was like 9800 at 197FSB dualchannel w/ ASUS mobo + R9700
Don't forget AND the working frequency......cos PCMark Mem test counts down and the CPU's chase when it benchies.....So the higher the CPU, the higher the Membandwidth...... ;)Quote:

Hipro, what do you have at bit 0 in wpcredit for mem timing? (Ras precharche) With Kingston HyperX pc3500 I am only able to set it 1 (2 clocks) up to 174 fsb and remain stable.
All of 4,3,2,1,0 are set to 1.....Quote:

I'm a big newbee when it comes to ddr ram having been raised with Rimm but I figured out that I was able to have 4,3,2,1,0 to zero when I put 10,9 to 01 (timing at 6) This is still some 2 percent faster :)Quote:

Just did a 56.48 second pifast. I can go faster but I'd have to restart and up the vcore and fsb a notch. Don't want to when I'm having a good download with Kazaa now :)
Hipro5, which IC (in pic) on the board near or adjacent to the Dimm slots controls the Vdimm? I see two possible candidates.:)Quote:

hehehe I have been wating for this for the past 2 weeks :D
I hope he is writing it.:)
Now......Some shots.......I know I should take them BEFORE the Modding BUT I just didn't have a Digicam that day.....so here's the best I could do.......
Here is the location of the IC that controls the Vmem......
http://www.pctech.gr/hipro5/photos/ASUSP4G8X/Vmem1.jpg
EDIT : Vmem messure "spot".......
EDIT 2 : FIXED photos
We check out the PIN6 of this IC witch consists of 8 pins......Pin 1 is the one with the "dot" on the IC.....So from PIN6 we solder a resistor of 3.9KOhms to GROUND.......With this resistor we get : 2.5=2.96Vmem , 2.6=3.06Vmem , 2.7=3.16Vmem.......
IF we solder a 2.8KOhms resistor then we get : 2.5=3.1Vmem , 2.6=3.2Vmem , 2.7=3.3Vmem......
You can solder an SMD(Surface Mount)(tiny) resistor OR a resistor with 1% accuracy.....1/4 Watts........
We can messure the Vmem on the CHOKE(rounded coil) beside the Mem slots......
