New Blood

Brought a new member in, goes by the nic of Weedsqueezer.:D
A good friend and a great guy AND he has a VERY fast PC plus a few others to add to our pool. Just got him set up on D2OL and he already has cands up.

thought i mightve had it working right again, but didn't, explorer stayed at 2% for about 5 minutes, but then started climbing again, now i have explorer closed to @ least my d2ol can have some decent output, ive had a peak mem usage of 982000K today. ill try it some more after this defrag finishes tomorrow, now @ 43% almost 25 minutes since my last post, to give an idea of how long this is taking.

athlon 64 running @ 2.6, 1gb dual channel ram, 160gb HD, DFI ultra-d. i might find myself playing with winlite before long, i just have about 25gb worth of stuff on this HD i really dont want to lose, or i mightve already formatted it.

a dual P3700 xeon like mine and his fast one is a
3.4 p4 asus p5wd2 premium 1 gig (512x2) and a couple others

I think he'll do 300-400 a day..

Glad you mentioned cleanup. Just did mine and cleaned up 12096 frags on the main drive and some on the others. Performance is noticably improved.

2 hrs for a defrag? dang, just burn your latest data to a disk and restore an image. a restore takes 10 minutes, maybe. then, fresh as the morning dew... :)

this is starting to irritate me. so i turned another machine back on. that is about 7 fresh gigahertz in the last two days.

wow, this is pretty exciting! need to find a few more pc's at work to install d2ol. if i'm lucky i can get 10-20, if i'm not it's gonna be zero :(

i remember months and months ago when we were still behind team anandtech, and rod, ddtung and the others were saying we could take the cows by new year's. i thought they were slightly insane, but here we are!

Man it would suck if the cows just rolled over and died in D2OL... I would love to see them put up a real fight so we can see what both our teams are truly capable of.

I am the newb movieman drug in here gotta say these forums are full of some awesome info. I have 4 computers running 5 instances of d2ol and have uploaded 100+ in the first 12 hours running the programs someone got a link to newb education on the cool stuff you guys are adding to your posts? thanks and DPC shall fall

explorer still taking up 100% cpu, all advice will be taken @ this point short of formatting....

Try safe mode to see if it also take up that much.
Only thing I can think of to get rid of it is to format and reinstall xp :/

We need someone who speaks dutch(?) to translate this. Time to ask around and get an interpreter in here. The translation pages just do not work well enough to understand the nuances of different languages.

Try Executive Software Diskeeper , it auto defrags based on usage and moves around directories and your page file for improved performance... I like it at least
