atastrumf be careful with that sensor.
I'm shure you know not to put it between the core and heatsink, correct? The processor will burn up.
Instead mount it underneath cpu so it is in the socket when everthing is seated.

Hehe he's not that dumb to do that :D In the socket directly glued on the bottom of the cpu is infact very well as one tested in comparison to on die external Maxim diode reader, it showed almost the same temps. But the problem is getting sensor inside the socket, if you do the same as showed on some AMD tech document it involve cutting small groves in socket so you can place thin wire between the pins of cpu
I know not to do that, don't worry. I was thinking of pushing it inbetween the heatsink and the procesor (plastic not the core itself) so it would touch the core from the side. I just hope it doesnt melt my probe :).
The other option would be to glue it to the heatsink before I attach it to the cpu, and position the probe very close (but obviously not too close to prevent it from getting inbetween the core and HS) to the core, where the copper is almost the same temp. as the core.
Yeah.
I have a volcano 7 with a smart fan. It comes with a temp prob also (a cheap little plastic thing, that control fans RPM's)
I mount mine under the cpu. The 2 wire are very very thin so they easily fit between a row of pins.
I cropped thi pic out of pdf.
This should make temp. monitoring very accurate.

But I have to change those wires my are much thicker.
woow, nice :)
When I'd do that, things tend to break :D
BTW; KILLER CPU MAN :toast:
Jeez these babies fly ! :P
I want to see one of these with prometia cooling at 2 volts and Ati Raedon 9700 voltmodded and chilled water, with a Nforce 2 board, that`s almost the winning combination in the ORB i think.
come on opp, you can do better just buy one off these babies :D
Alright heres the story, i decided to switch to AMD and my buddy told me newegg.com was a great company to deal with fast, etc etc..I wanted a thoroughbred 2100 and the price was 93 bucks(monday or tues..1/13-1/14) i didnt order it right then..few days later i saw it at $101 and bought it (1/16), along with a EP-8k3a+ and valcano 7+, then they went outta stock on the XP-2100.. i think my odds r pretty good at gettin the AUIHB steppin everyone is getting, i got dumb lucky cause i woulda settled with a 1.73, then i started reading the reviews and damn i am lucky. With this board and all i should be able to have the lower multipliers in my bios wihtout having to do any moddin to the chip itself right?
my friend was tellin me that u needed the new nForce boards or a KT400 board to be able to do it without doin anything to the chip itself..is this true..or should i be set up when the chip and mobo comes in...and i can plug n play away?
thanx in advance :)

Now the chips are 108Us at newegg.com
Just got my XP2100B from Newegg... stepping is AIUHB 0248...
So far I've confirmed stable at 213x11=2343mhz at 1.85v...
Right now I'm trying out 200x12=2400mhz at 1.85v...
Have good temps too... Running SLK-800 and a 39cfm Sunon fan, I have 29-30C case temp/45C CPU full load temp...
Hmm....I got mine a week ago. AIUHB, green proc.
So I decided to see what this thing could do. I first tried default multi. with 140 fsb. Things went fine except 3dmark would not complete. Odd. Temps were nice and low. So I then tried a higher multi. with 140 fsb. Got a weird error during my POST saying something about my cpu. This is very troubling. So turned the multi. back down and tried 144 fsb. This time after windows have loaded up all of my data on windows was gone. It was as if I had just freshly installed it. The only thing I can conlude is that all this is caused by my crap memory (elixir pc2100). But it should go higher than 144 fsb before my hdd gets corrupt....if thats what the problem was.
BTW, does anyone here have the asus nforce2? If so is there a bios option to lock the pci and agp. I know the board can do it, I just not sure If it auto. or manual.
I hope with good ram I can get to 200fsb. Corsair XMS PC3500 outta do it eh??

PS---X Men SS, how did u get a AIUGB ya lucky bastard?!!?!? :slobber:
here's my newegg 2100+ so far, just got it 4 hours ago:
2292.75 mhz (176x13) locked mult
on kx7-333 rev 1.1
with sk6, 33 cfm papst fan
2x256 samsung DTL pc2700 @ 2.5-2-3
1.70 volts vcore
SOLID
Aircooled goodness.
I LUV TEH AMD!!!!
(yes, i need watercooling & better ram.)
i've been browsing this stite for a while now, GREAT SITE first of all. Second of all, I am waiting newegg to get their next shipment in. It is said to arrive tomorrow. And I hope I get as good of luck as the rest of you guys did with the stepping. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!! :p
good to see you here web :)

Cathar isn't one to bull§§§§ around. These week 1 chips look insane. :DQuote:

Got you a little pressie since you pre-paid. Picked up some Week 1, '03 AIUHB T'Bred B XP2100+'s here for $160 Aussie through a CPU dealer mate here in San Jose. Whacked them into an Asus NF2 board, and using a Volcano 7u+, got them both to get into Windows at 2613MHz (201MHz FSB) using the stock multiplier and 1.85v. The board had issues pushing a higher FSB so not sure how well they'll really go. Ran out of time to test further, but can't wait to try them out with some water. I guess we'll find it when I get back next week, eh? Guess I picked just the right time to be here.
I wonder if these will be the first 2100+ T'Bred B's in Oz?
OMG 8-)
2700mhz on air.. what are these things gonna do in a prommy with 2.2v...!?!?!?!?! 8-)
in my prometeia...
Epox 8RDA, 2 stick of Kingston Hyper X, R9700.
CPU.
XP 2100 Tbred, AIUHB 0250.
Well my cpu just arrived today, and unusually for the UK ive managed to get hold of one of these (and not 2 months old either).
And thank you kunaak as its exactly the same cpu as you have there :).
AIUHB 0250 '9'
Gonna have to get the AMD mount for my prometia.
PiLsY.
PiLsY mate where'd you manage to ind one in the end??Quote:

ocpc :).
They had 5 - think I got the last one :D.
Just about to stick it together now - back in an hour or so ;).
PiLsY.
First boot - 2 gig default volts.
Default vcore seems to be 1.6v - that seem right? I presumed all the tbreds had a vcore of 1.5v after both my 1800 and 1700s did.
PiLsY.
TBred A's (1700+, 1800+) have 1.50V default.Quote:

Tbred B's (sub 2400+) have 1.60V default. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
So 1.6V is correct.
Ah cheers m8 :).

Well.....I thought it was the RAM....but last night I was proved wrong.
After being extrmemly mad about gettting major problems at just 144 fsb I decided to jump to 150 just for §§§§s and giggles. Turns out the systems boots fine. Windows is fine. Everything is A ok. I then go to 155....fine, 160....fine, 165...fine, and so on in incriments of 5 until I reach 180. I booted fine at 175 fsb with default multi. and temps. around 40c (I know that sounds wacked, but I felt the hsf and it was cool.) The ghz were at 2280 and (being my greedy self) I really wanted to get to 2.3 ghz. So i dared to go to 180 fsb and payed the price. Windows went funky on me again reverting to its most basic guts, no drivers, just nothing at all. I dont think this is right, but is windows perhaps booting in safe mode? This an odd win98 safe mode if thats what it is.
I also (in the rush of the o/c *smacks self*) forgot to look at the voltage, but I am pretty sure it is at 1.8v.
If I can get to 175 again tonight I will post a picture of it. Any ideas why windows is going nuts on me? This happened before only when at 144 fsb. How I got to 175 is a mystery.
Still a really awsome cpu. :D :D I am VERY pleased.

Well i got mine a few days ago and sure enough its a AIUHB 0250, i have a EP-8k3a+ and i've had it stable at 2.3 ghz with valcano 7+
i have the option to change the multiplier in the bios..but whenever i change it..no matter what fsb im at it wont boot at all, does this mean i still have to connect those L3 bridges, or should i just pump up the voltage a little bit?
