It'll hang over a little, should be able to attach though.

hmm, i also have a fan controler I forgot packed away somewhere. Perhaps tonight I will try it with my 90mm tornado just for kicks.
I'm sure as a temporary "test" it could be done, use wire ties.Quote:

Alright, mine is ordered! :)

Everyone must've went to bed... :(
I should have my X1800XL from Newegg on Wednesday. Can't wait to slap on the modded 70mm / with fan controller fresh from my 7800 GTX (I just installed the NV5 Silencer Rev3 for the 7800GTX). [I really can't wait to get an X1800XT 256MB BIOS to flash it with.]
Also, www.ZipZoomFly.com has the BBA for $379 Free 2 day shipping!
i cant even unscrew the screw holding on the heatskink cover. Im using a small flat head and the screws yes are for philips type, but flat heads have always worked in philips type screws. With the pressure im applying I doubt even a philips head would work. what now?

Bit-tech managed to remove it. "...eight small screws that attach the top plate of the heatsink."

no, the flat head makes good contact. its almost like they are glued into place.
No need, theirs nothing wrong with ur card. ATI Tools reading incorrectly.Quote:

Would u disconnect the stock fan on the card? Or do u run both?Quote:

The GTX had a regular heatsink with fins and then the fan, so we'd disconnect it and just pop a 70 or 80mm fan on there. This is like a housing so there may be an advantage to using both.Quote:

yeah there realy is no room to push screws into. maybe ill just get the zalman one after all and take of the whole heatsink.
Gunit Last time I tryed 1.225 it also gave me lockups. But i will try it again. I will alst try to lower my memory speeds and see what happens. But i find it odd it has a max on 1.2v may me sapphire locked it somehow ? May be a XT bios will help me to get past this wall ?>

From this pic it's clear that is a heatsink with fins.. I think the GTX trick will work just fine.

Just watercooling and dont bother with those ghetto attemps at modding the stock cooler ;)
The shimmering can be read about here:

I hope someone can check it.
I got mine for 379. Oc like crazy, owns any stock 7800 GTX. Shimmering is just in WoW. If it was in any other game review sites would have pointed it out instantly. Its a bug, it sucks.Quote:
