Any news on the PA120.x?

one of the basis for the pull method being more accepted prob originates from pull being more quiet. pull with a shroud is prob almost the same performance as push without one but the push is more noisy. Eventually ppl kept using pull and recommending it, it's natural that unknowing ppl would generally accept pull as a better method if everyone kept saying pull pull etc.. no one has actually done a full head to head comparison really because not alot of ppl have access to the equipt, it would be great to see a 302, pa120.2, etc.. all the 2x120 rads in a head to head push and pull test, maybe someone will do this who has the means and the time.

hmm, i find a fan reversed generates about the same amount of noise considering it is the same distance from the rad. of course with a shroud, you reduce noise. and I think it is safe to say that a fan pulling benefits much more from a shroud much more than a fan pushing. but the toss-off is of course the shroud. a shroud is a negative as well, despite the positives (less noise, likely increased overall airflow w/ pull): increased cost, and increased space you need in your case

not neccissarily increased cost... surprisingly good shrouds can be made on surprisingly small budgets (heck, mine was made for free...) but yes, size becomes a big issue. 6 by 6 by 12 inch blocks are very hard to mount...

Mine was made for free and looks better than some retail ones I've seen. Sure, it took some effort and time, but it damn well looks great. pics here
cardboard and duct tape is a zero budget AND zero time solution... manually folding sheet metal (from an old compy case), riveting it shut around the core, bolting it to the case, dremelling out fanholes, and painting it (extra spraypaint lying around) is zero budget but not zero time. all depends on how ghetto you wanna go.
And yes, the pics make my paintjob look like ass. Its not that terrible in real life, but I could use with some spraypainting practice.

No dead spot, so you use the full surface area of your rad.

if the plenumb depth is small enouh mad mikes comment comes into consideration.. but as it seems PA120.X series doesnt suffer from this. guess its plenumb depth is high enough.

It really sucks having to wait for the things you wanted right away :D

NY airport... Thats the closest spot in the US to the UK. Also has very large airports which serve as distribution centers.

So what you really want isn't one fully double the length of the Pa160.

You'd really like a Pa160 styled rad that is aboutt he same overall length of the 120.2 rad & mounting dual fans.

Not a bad idea really, should match or better the 120.3 core with it's 2 fans instead of three due to the greater width of the rad.

Question is: Is there enough market demand to support anyone making such a rad. I've seen a number of folks ask about such before.

Some would like it for installation reasons vs the 120.3, while having the performance of the 120.3.

Some the use of one less fan for a bit lower noise with the 120.3 performance.

When you start marketing for increasingly small niches profits become more elusive. And that may be the case with the 160.2, could it be sold in large enough numbers?

PA160's not new... its been out since like june or earlier or something... it's been out for a while. That being said, its still quite a nice radiator.

I got an email back from DD.com and they said all they will be carrying from thermochills pa120.x is the he120.x shroud.

I guess this means the he120.x shroud will fit the pa series.

Yes they do.

Can Marci comment on this? I believe he said you would have to slightly bend it before it would fit.
