FS section has gotten less active...and a lot more boring...
I have reached 100+ posts and I still cannot see the For Sale forum. Stupid forum servers! Why do they have to be so slowwwww to update. :(

Yeah about that.......I could see the For Sale section after I reached 101 posts but for some reason now I can not again?
Could someone preferrably a mod explain this phenomenon?
This has just happened to me as well. I could see the for sale section of the forums , then recently when the server went offline for a data move.I logged back in today, and the for sale forum was not there.Quote:

I don't.. actually, I find it real hard to validate a reason to post.. I mean, how do you contribute to a "brand new not released super duper CPU from 2020 tested by Coolaler" in a meaningful way?? :) If you don't have the connections? (As 99% of ppl here don't) That's why I have 70 posts in the last 20 months.. and I come here almost every day! To me, it's disrespectful to post if you don't bring something that has value / noone else said yet.. Many other (mostly younger I guess) members don't feel this way, and they are tolerated (nn_10k?).. I think that is why you see threads like "is conroe bringing newbs?" It has not been dealt with, and now all the other kinds think it's perfeclty fine..
Well.. plus, I don't think posts in this section count, so what spam are you seeing.. but maybe you are talking in general :)

And tbh, if we all averaged 3.5 posts a month, this place would be something like a crypt. There's a balance.....and some do more for swaying it one way than the other.

Is there a certain amount of time that a person has to be with xtremesystems that will allow you on the classifieds. Or do I have to become a post whore to gain access?
You have to get 100 posts, no exceptions.....except those that spam to 100, they rarely, if ever, get access.
The point is to reward contributing members with private forum access. I believe everyone has their posts critiqued before they're approved to see the forum just to make sure they don't post junk/spam once they reach 100 posts. It always helps keep the riff-raff out.
i can't freaking wait to gain access to the sales forums, i need some swiftech blocks, some hl xtreme radiators, and have a ton of stuff to sell.

When I came here 2 years ago I was curious about the FS section but there was so much here to read that I really forgot about it for a few months.
Then I looked, nothing special, no $50.00 Yorkies or $75.00 8800GTX's..:D
I think in the 2 years I bought an old Ti4400 for $25.00 to have as a backup card for a AGP system and a 300 gig drive for $60.00
It just isn't what people are hoping it is, so take your time, enjoy the forum and learn..The FS section will be there, I promise that, BUT spam to get to 100 posts and hell will freeze over before you see it.
It's that simple, it is for contributing members and the key word is contributing.

@Movieman. Except for when Guess posts stuff in FS, it's not terribly interesting. Everytime he posts something up, he makes me wish I had $500 in my PayPal account. :p:
There are a few pieces of hard to find hardware that get posted up every now and then though
Always seems to me like the FS section prices are VERY inflated.

97 posts were made since 12/20/2008 (the last 5 days).. 67 of those were from today and yesterday...
so if someone upstairs is looking at your account to grant access, it probably looks like you are spamming to get access. which is not allowed.
just IMO, and I'm only a user, so my opinion is just an opinion... nothing more..
