bored?! bah...i never get bored. ;) minesweeper is teh roXXorZ!! in other words...yeah sitting there for 30min. with nothing else to do can get kinda boring :D
max 1M was 2.885ghz i think. for some reason, it doesn't want to boot into windows any higher than 320 no matter the divider or multi. anybody got a suggestion? unlike a lot of other venices, this one can still boot with 1.7v through it so it's not the volts...
for max SP1M use clockgen. Just keep going up 10mhz at a time and running it again until you fail. I topped out at 2.945 with ~1.62 volts
i'll do that........tomorrow when it's not 2:43AM ;)
thanks bro. :)
well I just went through a week 20 which was CPMW if I recall, and it maxed out at 2.5ghz @ nearly 1.7v =( it really sucked bad.
I just bought a 3200 from frys and it goes 2.4ghz on stock voltage just fine, but it wont do anything above 2.65ghz at 1.65-1.7v =( its a week 18 EPAW....grrr I just need to find a magic week 15 or 17.
Not all week 17s are good, i have a week 17 that isn't stable at 2.7 Ghz with 1.63 volts.
and of course i have a week 15 that has a wall and can't pass 2.75.
Most of the week 20 3200+ I have seen are excellent OC'ers, check my sig, every BPMW seems to do at least 2800 :) , pity about my POS board though :upset:Quote:

my rock solid frequency should be 2820/2830mhz with 1,52vcore
but 2,7ghz 300*9 1:1 DC 1T is good enough for my vitesta with 1,44vcore and 2,8 on rams..TCCD :woot:
Bad luck  :slap: :slapass:Quote:

Water, but it's not that great. Room is HOT during day.

Nice chip
Sweet!! I'm getting even more excited about my week 20 that's in the mail. It is 3200 dpmw. Looks like people are getting some pretty sweet clocks from some of these chips.
Much better than the week 16's anyway.
okay,
got my new setup a few days ago and just started clocking the cpu.
3000+ 0520 EPMW,
asus sli premium (bios 1006-004, beta), 1x512mb MDT ram (waiting for 1gb kit ocz plat2 - should arrive tomorrow)
300x9 (2700) @ 1,4V, but i use the 1/2 divider for the memory so far.
32m stable (40°c load with the boxed cooler – getting a new one also)
I just can`t decide what to do next.
2700 with 1.4 volts is great, next try 2.8 and 2.85 :)
even with boxed cooler you can go up in volts to 1.55 probably 24/7 safe as long as temps are sub 54-ish, mine errors at 53C.
jsut did that (311x9) and it rebooted under heavy load - still at 1,4V, memory @ 1/2 though. i think i need to wait for the OCZ to arrive. i wonder if i can still boot at 311 with a higher mem clock - because of my asus premium - it`s not a DFI
Im confused, could my low clocks be because I put the memory on low devider and fsb at only 201 and up it in windows, but the memory controller has paramaters for 133mhz and its on tighter timings? I experimented with this by putting the multiplier to 6x and raising the fsb to 280 in windows and instant freeze even tho the memory was at 180. so, I played with A64 tweaker and I put the read preamble to a lower setting like 5ns(I noticed this is set to 7ns when its at 133mhz in bios and when its at 200 its around 5ns) and I can now go to 300+ HTT without it freezing on me.
are there any other settings that might be affecting this?
I noticed as I started raising the multi back up the CPU still became unstable at the same speeds and voltages, but maybe I wont have this massive wall at 270htt Ive had with both chips now. cuz it has to do with read preamble timings thus far....finding out what else it has to do with is another challange.
My memory isnt the greatest, its Hynis D43 chips..capable of 270mhz on loose timings of 3/4/4/8
Here is a screenie with my LBBLE 0520 APMW 3000+. Results were achieved with a cooler master hyper 6 heatsink.

man...why is my week 20 the only one that cant get these awesome results =( I dont get it. grrrr
did you try with the memory at 200, lower v core and htt 300? maybe it`s your mem....
Hi, I'm a newbie, building a new system and I wanted to OC some as well. I've had this thought in the back of my mind constantly, that certain "MUST GET A GOOD STEPPING CPU, MUST GET ONE!" I see you guys are into some heavy stepping-conversation so I hope you won't mind my asking. Basically I've got some chances to get my hands on 0523 3000+ Venices. Does any of you guys know if they're any good and if then how good are they? I've heard that 0519s and 0520s have mostly been not so clockable...That made me wonder.
For instance, how good would this one be:
YBBLE 0523DPAW ??
Thanks up ahead.
DPAW is good... on week 12s that is. Hardly seen any results from week 23, probably nothing special.
ADA 3000 DAA4BP
LBBLE 0520 GPFW = Deception
Z710296E50033
It's not stable beyond 2600 with 1.65v... I'll sell it and try to achieve a good one.
Looks like the 20's are just like the other good weeks. Most of them are really good, but some suck a nut!
Just comes down to luck of the draw.
Finally did some fooling with my new 0520 CPAW. Took a fair amount of work, since I am new to socket 939's and since it seems to be pretty sensitive to memory settings and I initally could not break 2.3ghz stable. After much work I got it stable at 2.7ghz (300x9) @ 1.65v with the 150mhz memory divider on my DFI Ultra-D.
Some things I have noticed. This CPU seems to run much warmed under load on my watercooling than any previous A64 (I've owned several now) with a broad idle/load heat difference. Under load it is great at 24-25C, but loads at around 40C. My DTR 3000+ idled at 24C and loaded at 30C and my newcastle 3200+ idled at 29C and loaded at 36C on the same cooling setup and similar voltage. I am wondering if the cpu is not making good contact to the IHS?
It does not seem to like my TwinMos SP PC3200 UTT which runs perfect at DDR500 speeds with 2-2-2-5 timings @ 3.2v on my UT NF3 250GB and DTR 3000+ setup. With the venice, I need to run it far lower at the same voltage to be totally stable. I've tried a couple different bios's so far, but no real luck getting them to work like they should. I have not tried my TCCD's yet, but plan on giving them a try to see if they make a difference.
