nice oc macci, what temps did you get under load using the peltier? And what kind of Peltier was it (200W ? more?)
I'm thinking about getting a Dothan+peltier setup myself, even more after reading through this thread ;)

Macci,
How far I'll be able to overclock the 730 stock voltage/cooling ?
Is there a way to push the voltage without modding the motherboard ? (pin mod ?
TY
Only monitored temp in the BIOS and at 2.4G and 1.6V the coldest was around +1C but the watertemp did get quite a bit higher during the benchmarks. I'd say around +6...+10C if not higher.Quote:

TEC was a 156W Umax 15.6V model ran at 12V.
I'd guess around 2.4-2.5GHz but it really depends on how lucky you are. I'd say I was pretty lucky with this particular chip :)Quote:

Connecting CPU pins VID4 and Vss together gives a Vcore of around 1.56V. This can be done for example by useing a tiny bit of 'U' -shaped wire in the socket or by connecting the CPU pins together w/ conductive paint or wire.
all 1021-versions for P4C800/-Deluxe/-E deluxe support CT-479Quote:
well, how i can know wich one support ct-479??
Does it give the higher ram speed also at 134MHz (PCI should be locked at that boot-FSB)?Quote:

Basically from 6X to the max value the CPU supports (in case of 730 12X).Quote:
Once you are in Windows, what Multi range do you have?
Does this range vary depending on the model?
But adjusting to lower than 9X didn't work for me.
thx macci, i am ordering just now a 730, hoping it is lucky like your ^^
adabter will be here in a week or two, and for the begin i try my p4p800 dlx i have in the server :D
Well I'm not having any luck accessing the ftp server (no password) and I can't seem to locate the latest 1021 bios. Can someone link me to that bios please? :)

Great!
Thank both of you very much. I was needing the P4C800 Deluxe. :D I got it.. ;)
hehe, welcome to the dark side QD. yeah, those dothan chips are awesome. even with the lack of onboard memory controller it's still faster clock for clock than the A64 FX-55!Quote:

Im a student and havent the funds for two rigs, and I would love a Dothan rig.
Since I only do light gaming (Q3 and Dawn of war) I wont be needing PCI Express for quite a while...
Would you trade my rig in sig for a Dothan rig?
hello
i have in my home p4c800e-deloxe with p-m 740 1.73 ghz and asus ct-479 and vapo chill xe and i do only the droop mod but this dont help mach to o.c soo can some one explen to me,with some photo how i do the vcore mod and the all the that need to get alot off volts to the cpu? thnks yeheil
:slobber:
Awesome results macci :woot:
Looks like I'll have to pick one of these up soon for some fun :D:D
Great work Macci. :toast:
Dothan2Win! :)
A try with a Asus P4GD1 and the CT-479 would also be interesting because of the Pci-Express support.
Or the board sucks?
Boards sucks...Quote:

That's an AWFULLY broad question. Use the search function and search "Dothan Vcore mod"Quote:

Tiny update for 3D-scores.

Looks like Windows reinstall is the next step as I messed up the OS. 2840MHz was too much for aircooling :D
Added a bit better fan for the GPU cooler and it should be able to do near 700MHz now with these ambient temps. Might be enough for 17k Mark03 all aircooled.
:D yhpm macci
Here's an interesting compare:
My best aircooled fx55/x800xtPe bench vs MACCI's Dothan.
Impressive.
I'll hvae the rest of my Dothan gear next week :D

Dothan has some serious potential here. With lower roomtemp the air cooled WR belongs to Dothan.
I'm
Very very results - Macci style :D
