i hope this isnt too OT, but when using RAM like this on the DFI boards, while the RAM will run hotter with more volts, the actual MOSFET area of the board will run cooler due to more of the 5v line being pumped directly into the RAM, correct? I'm jsut trying to debate what the tradeoff is and how risky it would be to run memory like this up around 3.7-3.8+ volts in a 24/7 setting, even with good memory and board cooling.
Is it doable, or should I only consider this stuff for benching runs? also, I wanna know how much these things cost!!! :slobber:
Duonger> Can you confirm that it is UTT-BH5 and not UTT-CH5 ?
I posted the question on Mushkin forums, when are these sticks going to be available through Mushkin's website. After 24 hours, no replies yet.
What makes you think this stuff is bh5-utt? Because old bh5 did better than ch5? Honestly, there's a huge amount things on those modules which affects overclockability, the chips are not the only one.Quote:

We hired a blind artist with one arm who can feel his way around our warehouse. The artist paints a red line on the heatspreaders before the aluminum is anodized. This is where the Redline get's it's special powers. It's really a combination of the artist, the pixie dust from the Fairy Ring, and the voltage which unlocks the powers of the pixie dust. When all these forces are combined, the Ram Leprechauns will run free at last and the Overclocking Gods will be pleased!"

What suprise me is that VX got UTT-CH5 and for now they're the best 512MB sticks with tight timmings. I wonder if finaly UTT-BH5 would not be better than UTT-CH5.
But for now we do not have enough facts and we do not know how selected those sticks were.
We will be releasing the New products this week. It will be in conjunction with some things that we are doing inhouse. This is the information that I got from our meeting this morning. Please keep looking at our website. www.mushkin.com Resellers are informed already and it is a matter of how fast they can sku up the product.

One is Charlie the other I don't remember but I guess he only repeated since he do not have the sticks. Go back if you like :DQuote:

There is 5MHz more that I ever saw - out of the two other kit 1 is also better than the best VX. Mushkin seams to take a different move than OCZ or GSkill, who both use UTT-BH5 @ 200SPD and OCZ prefer UTT-CH5 for 250SPD
I used to think that UTT-CH5 would go higher than UTT-BH5 now I'm not sure of that. And even if 512MB UTT-CH5 sticks where never selected by user really arshly, 2x256 are still beating them at SPI, those 5MHz are still important.

I hope this pixie dust isn't like the pixie dust IBM used in their hard drives.
No, I don't KNOW what the Redlines are... never removed the spreaders. I said my old Mushkin BLUES were UTT-BH5...Quote:
