so why would they be 200mhz slower but for the same price?Quote:

Like I said the "BN" 3500+ is just the same as the "AS" 3500+ insomuch they are cache crippled. The frequency is higher by 200MHz than a san diego or clawhammer would be for the same rating to compensate for the half cache. (e.g 3500+ BN is 2.2GHz with 512KB L2 cache, not 2GHz with 1MB L2 cache and 3700+ is 2.2GHz with 1MB L2 cache)
So this officially only has 512k of L2?

omg you guys are right!
http://www.c627627.com/AMD/Athlon64/
they updated amd's roadmap to reflect 512k cache! Thought so and amd is smart for saving the Diegos with bad cache and remarking all those as 3500+ rather than throwing em away and losing $$$$$$$$$
Ugh, gross, that's my 16 year old cousin's name - and yes, she's hot, but damn that's nasty, I'd rather have the hitman . . . :rofl:Quote:

yes the 4BN makes that pretty clear 4 = 512KB L2 cacheQuote:

I think this is a good move on AMDs part. There are a lot of current Winchester users that have descent overclocks already, and don't see much point in upgrading to Venice. However, 1mb and increased overclockability for a reasonable price is much more appealing.

check it!!! in a few minutes the review is online ;)
Ferry82, considering they did the same thing to the previous revision 3500+ making them castrated Clawhammers, I wouldn't be surprised if AMD did the same thing again.

Any news on your San Diego review Loki2k? I am not seeing it at your site...
I have seen several people say 12x multi so I am posting this thread to clear up some confusion. It is important to get facts right. Am I right in saying the 3700+ has only up to 11x?
Socket 939 3700+ = 2.2GHz, 1MB L2 cache, dual-channel support.
So yes.
from what i understand the 3700+ diego is 2.2ghz, so that means its an 11x multi in my book, i think there getting confused with the non 1mb version which is 2.4ghz hence 12 multi
edit: little slow there ;)
11 multi for sure only the 4000+ & 3800+ will have 12 multi
Well i just ordered my FX55 BN retail box at sparco. HEHE
