My temps are worse than yours! I get 52 degrees idle and around 80 on load (overclocked)!Quote:

Let me know...but really, theres practically nothing between the fan and actual chip.lol...its ridiculous...i'm at 50c idle...just "testing" my overclocked settings put it at 58c...lol...i can imagine it gets kinda hot under stress..lol...definitely need that zalman...
I've got a eVGA and I'm in sunny FL. So it's a little hot already but I've got great case ventilation! My eVGA has 3.6 ns ram, but I can't o/c past where you can go, I probably need those ramsinks too!Quote:

So as long as it arrives before 1-2'ish, i should be able to get some results in...otherwise i'll have to wait until next week.. :( the ramsinks should help you out, i only gained about 5mhz, but their not being actively cooled either...as for your 3.6ns ram, it prolly runs a bit hotter, so the sinks should benefit you more, especially if you had some better cooling on the gpu which happened to provide some airflow over their sinks...also, i posted back in conrad's thread about the 6600 volt modding and he's going to post a pic with info on where to read voltages when he gets home from work..hopefully i'll grab a pot tomorrow and get myself a vmem mod :)
LOL - nvidia needs to release new drivers..i was just playing around with 3D01,03,and 05...trying to publish some ORB scores...so i installed the 66.96 official drivers and whatnot, ran the tests, got some lower scores than i've been seeing, but then again, these drivers blow. lol. so anyway - for some weird reason i still can't publish the score - says its incomplete information or something..i dunno..i'll investigate tomorrow..but in the mean time, lol, get this..3D05 score WITH 66.96 was 2713. With the latest leaked drivers, 75.90, i scored a 3341! Thats one hell ofa jump if you ask me!!
On another note, i wonder if there is a hex hack to open up the other 4 pipes so we don't ahve to keep doing it soft mod way...i'm doubtful however due to an issue i had when i was flashed to 6600 that i failed to mention..even when flashed, i still had to softmod to get the extra 4 pipes, they weren't automatically there...so i dunno what that means..but if there was a hex edit to open them up in our original bios that would be mint! :) So now i'm going to bed, good night all.
Interesting... I have read that when you flash with a different bios it usually doesn't replace all your stuff with the new bios only part and I'm not sure what parts either. I'm 99% sure there must be a way to do it through the bios since that's how it's done in the first place (if you look at how you unlock the pipes in rivatuner if you don't do "custom" you "use vga bios" to determine the pipes). Unfortunately, the main way people have done that in the past is by flashing to another bios that has the unlocked pipes. Our only option is doing that with the 6600 which we haven't been successful with. I think we need to contract someone to have a thorough look at our bios. I think there must be a way to:Quote:

I think there's a limitation on how far you can go with B though through the bios. Good night to all!
ok - got the specifics from conrad about doing the vmem mod - i have classes all morning then i should be able to run to radioshack and get my pot, then solder her on. I'll update ya'lll later.
Im seriously impressed guys ... good dedication :D cant wait for the results :D
seems like an awesome budget card! nice job!
alright - got the vmem mod off - stuck at 695 on memory now..i think the chips are getting too warm though so hopefully the zalman will allow for a 100% gpu overclock and the magic 700+ on memory...time will tell..thats all for now :)

Wow. 695MHz on the memory? Go pull off some quick 3DMark runs. Are you artifacting at that speed? I'll go look in one of my boxes later on to see if I have some extra copper sinks. They might just be BGA sinks, but they're better than nothing.
If you're in the US, I'll ship 'em to you for free. I'll PM you later on to let you know if I find 'em.
Hey conrad - thanks for the offer but that'll be unnecessary...as you see above, i have two BGA sinks on the TSOP's - copper - so they're cooling them. Only problem is there is really no air circulation..i don't have case fans other than the PSU because i have phase change cooling...hopefully when i get that zalman cooler it'll cool of the memory a bit too...once again thanks for the offer, but i got the ramsinks covered :)Quote:

AB - please post pics of your mod if you have some! Also, can this be done via a pencil mod?
Conrad - I don't know if the ramsink offer is transferrable... but I'm interested!
i dont' think pencil mod is possible for this one..since its not a resistor...anyways..i'm gonna take some photos, brb
EDIT:
tried to take pictures with my phone cam - lol - they are too blurry to even bother posting..i'm gonna bring my digicam back from spring break so i'l have some pictures for ya'll come next sunday, march 6.
Did you send your BIOS over to mvktech? If not, could you? It's a real hassle hooking up a floppy drive.
My 6200 showed up today, along with a DFI NF4-Ultra, and coolermaster 450W. The four extra pipes opened up fine and I'm running at 560/665. It got around 56,000 in Aquamark3 with my 3200+ at 9x270.
yes i did send my bios over to mvk - they wrote back to me today asking some more specifics. They said they are going to try and get it working then release a version 2.0a. :toast:
You've got PM, bro. ;)Quote:

Thanks a lot. I can't wait to see what more volts will do.Quote:

Reason I ask, is earlier you posted that you got 18.5k on 3dmark01 with your cpu at stock speed and 6200 @ 580mhz.... My 6200 @ 4 pipes and only 500mhz,
is pulling 18K (and only 512k cache cpu). So far I've had no luck softmodding with any driver or version of Rivatuner. Next, I'm gonna try modding the bios.
People dont seem to be having much success with this and the ones that do arn't seeing a lot of performance improvement. Hopefully, we can nail down whats going on with these cards...
EDIT: I see that the 3DMark01 score I mentioned was actually 18.8K. Point is still valid, however.
Thanks,
Jay
guys what memory is on gigabyte 6200 ?
Guys i here new user and i have 1 question
What u say about Asus EN6200GE 128Mb 128Bit?
can open a 8pipelines on this Graphiccard?
OC_is_life - yeah, as long as its a 6200 not a 6200 Turbo Cache you'll be able to open up the extra 4 pipes
Tedy - its either 4ns or 3.6ns TSOP style memory - most likely 4ns
DrJay - I'm pretty sure they're enabled...i see a big performance hit overall in 3dmark when i disable it. I'll try the fill rate test though, see what happens. We're working on getting NiBiToR to support these 6200 bioses, it doesn't at the current time. Soon we hope. Good luck.
I bought LEADTEK 6200 PCIE 128MB with Hynix 3.6ns
How exactly do i try unlocking ? Any links ? Thanks
