actually you can retailer in OZ has been benching Asus A8N-E SLI with 2x Leadtek 6800 PCI-E cards getting 13,700 3dmark2003 stock :) They got 12,600 with same setup but with 2x 6600GT PCI-E cards

Lardarse got a guick question for ya .... how do you run those super fast ultras with the cascade(s) without experiencing the very irritating throttling when temps reach <25C ?!

I think he answered it earlier in the thread, the brand of card he got doesn't have thermal throttling. Forget what brand he said, and it's like a page back so I'm too lazy :p:

I think its a trade off, maybe I should do a lower gpu and higher mem. Thing is its more power issues than anything, the 12v is at 11v for the cards, need to get a better power supply than the generic ones I used. The Asus cards doesn't get me any cold throttling... I'm so thankful fo that.
The cards are hitting powering walls than cooling ones it seems.

if I remember right, it was friendly competition for you and me.
hell, we were PM'ing each other twice a day for like 3 weeks, cause I beat your scores, you beat mine and so on.
congratulating each other, and joking around about when to beat the others scores.

so when did all this happen?

I don't want SLI to beat your scores, I already did that many times before.
you beat my score, and I neve tried to beat your 33k score, cause I was over the 6800 and more interested in SLI.
I had been working with 6800's since july.
they really weren't much fun anymore, and I wanted something new.

not cause I needed new hardware to beat your 33K score.
with a clean reinstall of 2000k, some good tweaking, I could have done it easy.
but I am sure with your FX55, you would have beat me again... just like you did many times in the past... when it was just friendly competition.

I've never said anything bad about you, nor will I.
hell, I've said it many times jokingly in the past, that I was top in 3 outta 4 catagories with the 6800 except to zakelwe in 2001se (cause of his persistance) if I remember right, that quote is from my for sale post of my Asus 6800 card from about a month ago.

I don't see why your mad at me...

I took exception to

"only second to zakelwe in 2001se, and thats only cause I sold my card and hardware to get ready for SLI"

because it made it sound like you could have had me anytime but were moving on, which I thought was a bad misrepresentation of our duel over the weeks.

I was probably being a grumpy old git so my apologies, I'm getting worse with age I'm sure :(

Anyhow, 2001 is up to 33.6k now ( shame you had to leave the ball early) and 05 is now up to 6.2k due to nvidia's somewhat suspect 71.20 drivers ..hmmmm they will never be aprpoved I think.

I can vouch that the guy in red shirt was Shamino, why so? I was there for the event. Shamino was one of the judges there that day, he got interviewed by the press as well. I think they went to his house as well, to take a look at his dual cascade setup :D

Tis weird, I got it to recogniize my GPU clocks correctly by closing the background NV programs but now the scores wouldn't publish , a 608/1312 score :confused:

Yes, I used the same vmods... was it done properly for your case? I use the hard mods and no bios flashes yet.

yes , i tried them , but i'd no gain :/ , one of mine 6800U is dead , i don't understand why , i was in 2D , aircooled.
Waiting for a new one.
