I don't think so. Sorry you guys have had such bad luck with the A8V. The 1.2 and 2.0 boards I have are great. Clock for clock the A8V is one of the fastest boards out. I did a search on the Futuremark 2001 ORB and the fastest computer under 2900 megahertz is an A8V. Same for under 2700. I believe the 2700 one is the fastest completely aircooled system there. Both of my boards are very stable too. The A8V is a great motherboard IMO.

Why? He is running his memory at 204mhz with 7-3-3-2 timings. I am surprised he did that good. His memory bandwidth is sucking which is not good for superpi.

What does your superpi score have to do with identifying the A8V 2.0 board?

Yup I'm just looking for highest clocks, not maxing out here.

I need some memory that can go 1:1 and not 5:3

Also your memory is running 2:3 I think which would explain why you got that score with the lower clocks.

I got I think 34S with 240x11 with 5:3

And SuperPi has a big threshold for quicker timings based on clocks, hopefully when I get the new mem in place I can see what kind of SuperPi times I'd get.

I got 260x11, 5:3 stable for 6 hours on prime though :D But my BH5 don't like to OC :(

why does your SS say 3500+ socket 754 ?! You using an old version of CPUZ?

Meh I hate neutering my ram :( I can max out on the ram at around 210 mhz

But today I'll try to go 270x11 to see if I can get close to 3 ghz benchable.

Yes i was perfectly aware that his memory is runnint at 204 and 7-3-3-2. I would have expected at nearly 250mhz higher cpu speed would make more of a impact than that. And that in fact was the whole reason of my post, and gave my results for comparison in the spirit that it may wave a redflag for a misaligned bios setting. Instead of see'n this possability you feel its your civic duity:rolleyes: to bust my chops, nice. How insightfull of you to just assume i was a trolling braggard completely ignorant to what frequency his ram was running at.

And since you asked it really has nothing to do with spoting a rev2.0 board, that part has been adressed rather perfectly and completely but what exactly is it in your post that adds any value to the discussion at hand?

Yea, i dont exactly know why but on the beta bios and that version of cpu-z(about 6months old now) it would report as s754. on the officals it reports as s939 and it reports correctly with the beta's on the 1.23.2 version.

You didn't really answer my question though. I don't see how you can expect him to do well with those timings and RAM speeds.

i dont think HTT speed has any much of any effect itself. Its technicly not a bus so no data is carried by it. If what ive read is true its just a basicly a signal. But high memory speed is always better and you need to run high htt to run high memory speeds.

And which is more important, the fast bandwidth or agressive times in the memories?

Stability and performance.

you have to balance the two. it really depends on how high you get with loose timing over how high you get with tight timings.

and for me the 1005.020 and the 1005.021 perform virtualy identical, some say the .020 bios is more stable and the .021 overclocks a tad better but not in the case of my board so i would test them both.
