mongoled, I am sorry but isn't abvious that with more vdimm there will be higher ram clocks? I have not been posting benches because I don't feel like posting the obvious. Eva and Spec are posting benches. How many more do you need to see before you know more voltage equals better clocks?Quote:

I can't say much for before and after clocks cause I have vdimm mods on all my boards. The booster is not all about higher clocks, but about being easier than a vmod, cleaner voltage, and higher voltage in some cases.
The main thing at hand is to make sure these are compatible with boards. We all already know more voltage equals higher clocks.
basically booting with one stick, then shutting down and inserting the second.Quote:

Please if you could take the time, re-read my initial post on the subject we are discussing. In hindsight i should have made it clearer. Ofcourse more volts will increase the clock speed (well not 100% of the time) doh.
That is NOT what I am asking, im asking for comparitive mem frequencies with the same voltages being used (this is what I should have made clearer).
Example
3.2vdimm runs 240mhz
3.2vdimm with booster runs 2xx mhz
The point u made abt the OCZ booster providing cleaner voltages is what I want to get at, this for me would be the reason I would buy the product, not because i can get a higher range of vdimm. That I can mod manually, my hope is that the difference of using the booster is clear with regards to increase in capacity of mem modules. This is why i want u peeps with the booster to post your results.
Posts saying 'oh lookie im running 379mhz whoopie blah blah blah' are nice to see, but they provide no meaningful information for me. I believe their are other peeps who share my beliefs.
Hope this clear up my request.
so far i like what i see.definitely be getting one soon.
Aye M8! I get it now, and it makes sense. Thing is I am not sure the benches will be any better. It is just a matter of the voltages staying more on point, and if the voltages are "cleaner" you will most likely get higher clocks at the same voltage which is what you are requesting to see. Cleaner voltages are hard to show, but I will try.Quote:

I will go through tommorow when I am off, and see if I can get anything to help your request!
i wonder if the booster isnt compatible with boards that get the vdimm from the 5v line. im not sure if any of the boards on ocz's list do or not. jeff fried his vreg on his epox which does. the dfi and shuttle do also and arent compatible either. maybe there is a reason the boards use the the 5v line and not the 3.3v. just a guess on my part :)Quote:

Well this thing sounds amazing. I need a location to buy it! Sold out everywhere. :(
or it could be the boards that use the +5 have OVP on the mem voltage. I believe that is the problem with the booster and these boards. Thing is traditional vmods also have some problems on boards with OVP.Quote:

this is my post over @ OC dot com:
see sig for rig stats...
whelp, i cant get it to work ...
ive tried booster in 1, mem in 2&3...nope
ive tried booster in 1, mem in 3.......nope
ive tried booster in 1, mem in 2.......nope
ive tried booster in 3, mem in 1......nope (knob wont clear the stick in #2)
(the way i had the HS's set to clear in 1 had to be redone to clear in 3)
ok so here is what happens; when the booster is plugged in (1 OR 3) and the PSU is on (red mobo light is on showing all is ok...) my "PC on" light and CD rom light are also on (much dimmer than normal) without the PC actually on...then when the Prommy hits -33 and the PC should go on...NOTHING! No fans no beeps nothing. only thing that changes is the "PC on" and CDrom light go off. (about 3 sec after PC should start booting)
ive unhooked the booster and everything boots and runs fine. ive left the booster's power cabels pluged in WITHOUT the booster plugged into a DIMM and PC boots and runns (booster's readout works and knob adjusts readout)
so...any thoughts?
Hold down the power button for 5 seconds, then let go....then it will turn on.Mine does the same thing
so this fits into dimm one of a nf7-s without mods?
that turns off the prommy...Quote:

but ive plugged the prommy into another PSU and that worked!! after the lights went off and i hit the power button again, its up and running!!
THANKS!!:toast:
nope...(post on OC):Quote:

sorry, digicam is @work
ok the HS's are just "taped" on...they came off easy now to try to get them to fit...
ive dremeled off 1/2 of the last fin of the HS and repositioned all the HSs (3) on the MOSFETS (4) so it fits.
i had my mem in slots 1&3. i moved them to 2&3...so now, of coarse, my rig is throwing a hissy-fit and not booting @ same settings...(13x223 @ 2.1V (cpu), 2,3,2,11 2.9V (mem) )
i need to find max stable OC (again) b4 i put in the booster
as soon as i get things working ill start a new "OCZ Booster, NF7-s & me" thread...would it be fun if it was easy?
EDIT: need to update my sig...Prometeia Mach II one of Trat's D10 BIOS...
Edit2: back up and priming @ above settings...
Edit3: installing Booster...
I had to mod the heatsink directly below the dial to fit my nf7-s 2.0
Not a big "deal" to do

For sale in the UK. Price is steep though
Cpu city is much cheaper :)

Time to break out the old Winbond BH-6 modules in my 2x 512MB Corsair XMS3200C2v1.1 BH-6 :D They seem to need 0.1-0.2v more vdimm to achieve the same overclocks as BH-5 and under 3.0v will overclock ~5mhz less than BH-5. Also had to loosen the bios settings.

Is it so dificult to post comparative results? Before, after...
Throwing dispersed results helps nothing.
well my P4C800-E is unmodded stock board so before would be with 2.85v vdimm so you can imagine how BH-5/6 ram does at 2.85v around 217-220mhz 2-2-2-6 hehe... what you see above from me is the after OCZ DDR Booster results :)
I was hoping some before results with vdimm modded boards... at least 3,0v.
